Not much going on this week, as you can imagine, but I'll post standout info here if/when there is any.

PS3 | Gran Turismo: HD
- professional mode included
- update next year will add car damage
- updates will improve AI
- ferrari is included, also more collaborations

PSP | Winning Eleven
- you can play CPU while waiting for human opponents

PS2 | KH Re:Chain of Memories
- included with Final Mix+
- made by the Musashi team
- didn't plan to release Final Mix originally, but after Musashi team made this, they changed their minds

PS3&360 | Sonic
- coming out on 21 Dec for 7140 yen
(I swear it said 11/11 at TGS)

Is the PSP version of WE stripped down like hell again?

What's Musashi team?

This must of been one short magazine. :-P
Yeah, they're planning to sell extra pages separately over the next few days, so you can buy the news you want to read.

Final Mix+ = KH2FM right?
The actual title is Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+
I guess they added the + because it includes Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories.
Wait, I think I just made that up. I'm not sure, but I read the + somewhere. Not sure if it's official or not.

Now car damage is a microtransaction?

another ps3 game confirmed same price as 360 games?
7140 yen is like 60 bucks (according to google), any chance of it being cheaper than that in the US?

so what's about sakaguchi interview on blue dragon ?
and famitsu xbox/famitsu wave coverage on lost odyssey demo ?

Dude, if you don't know jack shit about Japanese prices, don't even try comparing. Most games in Japan this gen have been 6800yen and some 7800yen. 7140yen is 6800yen listed with tax. :P

7140Y is actually the same normal pricepoint this gen....I don't want to think how much will europeans pay if they increase the price in the other regions...

Tales of the World PSP confirmed - 21st Dec 2006
Super Robot Wars OG PS2 confirmed - 25th Jan 2007

KH2FM+ is a 2 discs package, with KH2FM on a disc and KH:ReCoM on the other. Save data betwee the two are compartible, but no details yet on why.

Haha, sounds like Tales went from one-each-year to one-each-month :lol

ToP 7 Sep
ToT 26 Oct
ToD 23 Nov
ToW 21 Dec

Well, at least they meet the dates they gave in the tales event. 2007 ToD2 PSP next...

I said this 2 months ago but not many believed me that Namco would be pulling this! I've said that ToD would be Nov, TotW would be Dec and ToD2 would be Jan some time ago. :lol

Though I'm not sure I like the affect that microtransactions will have on game development as a whole, there are elements of it that I do like the sounds of. Buying a game for $5, for example, and then buying all the content.

Now for any game I'd buy normally this would be a waste of money since it would be too expensive to get the full game out of it.

But what about a game I may not normally buy?

Imagine a Fighter game that I simply don't have enough interest in to spend $60 on it. But perhaps I have a slight interest in it. So I go buy the disc for $5, and then I download the 1 cool character I like and perhaps a snow and mountain stage to fight on. $15 spent and I get all I really need for that specific game.

I win because I got the game at a discount and enough of the game to satisfy its purpose, and the developer wins because instead of getting $0 from me, he gets $15.

(Numbers are just examples to try illustrate the scenario, though Kaz Hirai did paint a picture at TGS where the game discs were given away for free or just the cost to make the disc.)

Why does Namco so desperately want the Tales of series to die?
Does Square-Enix want the Final Fantasy series to die?
Does Bandai want the Gundam series to die?
Does Konami want the Winning Eleven series to die?
Does Capcom want the Rockman series to die?

More like, Tales riding success for Namco.

Well, at the very least, they're spreading the Tales games on different platforms which should prevent this milking from being an absolute disaster, but I generally agree.
