Arkane working their artwork magic again, huh?

I think their style is fitting really well inti the sci-fi space. It feels appropriately cold and sterile in a good way.

Apparently it's gonna be an interconnected world. That's exactly the type of level-design I like, so if they can nail that aspect, I'm definitely interested. That is if it's complex and not dumbed down and hand-holdy. Could be great, could be crap, too little to go on right now.

We really need some real gameplay presentations for this. I want to be excited but a well cut gameplay trailer can hide a lot.

it does. despite not going for photorealism, they are so good at creating worlds that feel real, like you could climb straight into them.

Why did they even bother to use the Prey name? It's not like it has much recognition.

Still salty the cancelled Prey 2.

They released 8 minutes gameplay video two months ago.

And if I heard right, there should be a preview blowout this week.

It's shocking to me that this is so underhyped in certain corners of GAF. It looks so smart and creative and original. Maybe it will suck, any game can, but it's certainly not guilty of being bland.

People still mad that they gutted Prey 2 and now this is here, which isn't what people wanted from the Prey sequel or franchise.

If it reviews well then people will be back on board.

Prey is has one of the most convoluted histories for a game with only one released title. I don't know why it has any recognition, it's been passed around so many times and redesigned more thimes than I care to think about.

I still remember when it was the NEXT BIG THING of 1995 from 3d Realms of all studios, and was going to be a deathmatch arena/ladder with portals.

The fact that it released in any form is amazing.

everything about this game sounds good... except the shadow blob enemies. hopefuly theyre not the only enemy type

Looks great.

I just hope the level design is as good as Dishonored 2 and the environments as densely detailed.

Not even sure why they bothered reusing the name. The original Prey came out a long time ago without much praise or sales. Then the second game looked like something everyone would be interested in, but then was cancelled. They should have just made it a new IP without the baggage attached to it from the name. That being said, I'm buying this.

Refusing to buy this game due to the disgusting way Besthesda treated the original Prey 2's development team.

Doesn't look like it'll be hard to refuse due to the game looking like a run-of-the-mill overly linear FPS that plays like Bioshock. Yawn.

Starting to really like the art direction, eventhough it could still use some more sharpening in order not to look too "soft". (I'm a sucker for sharpening)

Considering the game puts emphasis on alien powers and tools over standard weapons (They degrade and ammo is scarce) with strong RPG elements, I feel its absurd seeing it as run of the mill linear FPS. And with the way Prey is structured (Its an interconnected world), its not overly linear in any way.

You should read up on what an immersive sim is and what this game is aiming for before you go into threads spouting stuff that is almost the exact opposite of the truth :)

If you're only here to be angry about a cancelled game from half a decade ago you can always make one more thread complaining about it, I promise that it will alleviate your frustration.

Right lets punish Arkane instead, its not like they dont make fantastic games or anything.

If only every run of the mill linear FPS had creative Alien powers required for platforming and puzzle solving.

Looks great. Prey seems like one of those games that will get more attention on gaf after reviews come out and there's strong word of mouth.

Arkane should get Cosmic Contrarian to do some pre-release videos so people can understand what the fuck immersive sims are.

Or hire StealthGamerBR or Volound for some pre-release gameplay considering how fucking skilled they are.

Holy Hell... Hadn't heard of those guys - just watched StealthGamerBR's "Dishonored 2 Stealth High Chaos (Edge of the World)1080p60Fps" my god.... Had no idea the game could be played at that speed / fluidity.
