Someone at SSMB found them.
Yo
YOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ahhh, facebook photos. I want to see some hi-rez shots of that later on, then. That looks really sharp right now, but I can't wait to see more.

...Wow.

Bayonetta 2 laughs at this sentiment. This isnt battlefield or uncharted. It shouldnt be impossible to have unleashed levels of detail and still be 60FPS.
It shouldn't be impossible, but Sonic Team isn't Platinum or Naughty God when it comes to pushing graphics like that while maintaining a solid framerate. Also it seems like Bayonetta 2 looks so good because of it's art style more than graphically demanding stuff. And IMO less is more when it comes to a Sonic game's graphics. Sonic Lost World looks far better than Generations and Unleashed to me.

The next Sonic game on PS4/Xbone will probably be more detailed like you want it to be, but certainly not on Wii U.

Also, I love me some Casino zones.

I don't think the Wii U is capable of pulling 60fps on a game with as much detail as Sonic Generations :/

I don't know, I mean games like Bayo2 and Mario Kart 8 look really good and are 60fps.

Granted they might have to make some cutbacks, but a Sonic game on Wii U with Bayo 2's graphics and 60fps would be HEAVENLY!

This game looks better every time I see it. It's definitely one of at least 2 games I'll be getting for Wii U later this year (the other game being W101). Do we have a full Wii U release schedule for the rest of the year?

I haven't seen much of Bayo2 but Mario Kart doesn't seem as detailed as Sonic Generations was.

By the way, I hope my post isn't seen as an attack on the Wii U.

I hope those powers don't play into the the game as much as they did in Colors. I can handle them as small breaks in the action to mix things up, but platforming should be the main event.

Depends. An exclusive title can probably take advantage of the quirks of the system in a way multiplats can't and achieve 60 fps. Granted, Generations does have a shitload of things going on at times. I'm surprised it runs as well it does on my rig, great portjob there, Sega.

This really looks fantastic. Between Sonic Colors/Generations, I have once again become a person who gets excited for new Sonic games.

The wisps are super charming, and I loved the powerups you got from them.

I usually use GameFAQs for that, since it's more comprehensive than VGreleases (which I feel doesn't include a lot of the niche stuff / Japanese stuff I want). Alternatively, you may check out GAF's Wii U Games 2013 thread, which seems to have game releases on a monthly basis, and is more comprehensive than the GFAQs list.

I'll be getting a Wii U for this, myself. And NSMBU/Super Luigi U.

Good lord, there hasn't been a casino level in a mainline 3D Sonic game (Generations doesn't count) since Sonic Heroes which was almost 10 years ago.

The cycle was already broken Sega, you didn't have to disintegrate it..

Shields and monitors=okay
little aliens or partners that do the same thing="shitty friends and powers"

Just turn up the contrast on your nostalgia goggles and walk away

These powerups are very different from Shields. Shields enhance your platforming abilities. Color's powerups make for simple and boring sections that have no platforming at all.

I really don't see what people find fun about things like those drill sections.

Honestly? I think Sega are going to look at sales of Knack very closely. Im not convinced a graphically demanding Sonic game will be made this generation, least not for years. Why bother when the bulk of sales come from Nintendo platforms anyway?

I think Lost world is a step too far. You could take the detail of unleashed/generations down a notch without throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I think the artstyle of Unleashed worked against in some ways. I mean look at this lighting model

Im not a big graphics guy but damn...Unleashed was too gorgeous a game to throw all that away. The hedgehog engine is still amazing.

Oh btw...Naughty dog and solid framerate don't deserve to be in the same sentence.

Holy crap, it's the Casino Night Zone remake we never got in Generations. Looks amazing. Hopefully we'll see footage of it at Comic-Con this week.

Awesome thanks. Looks like I'll be getting Sonic, W101, and Mario 3D World. I was interested in Wind Waker until the $60 price tag. Multiplatform titles are a huge maybe, depending if I keep my PS4 preorder, and if the Wii U versions actually turn out good.

I'm pretty hyped though, this will be my first Sonic game since Sonic Adventure on the DC.

I don't mind if they port over the hedgehog engine to next gen. However 1080p 60fps should be guarenteed even in 3d mode.. Well at least 720p 60fps in 3d mode.

I'm pretty certain that Wii U could handle a game of the visual fidelity of Sonic Generations at 60 FPS. The key issue is the speed though. The reason Sonic Unleashed and Generations was locked to 30 on consoles was because of how demanding it would be to process how quick the level has to load (especially under the game's Hedgehog Engine which doesn't render the entire level at once but streams it while you're playing). Sonic Unleashed on PS3 tried going for 60 but failed hard.

At Lost World speeds I could see a level of Generations scale work. That said they most likely went for the simplified approach to accommodate Sonic's new moves and so you'd have a much more discernible time knowing where you're going. It's sort of like an artistic counter-design so you don't have to do what almost all games do these days and shine some light on objects you can interact with, because in Lost World pretty much everything you see looks to be able to be interacted with and everything is up for exploration. It also means they can have a lot more level variety - levels in Sonic Gens/Unleashed were so big that there was only one "big" act per area and it made it hard to extend the game with additional levels. In this game, three acts of Desert Ruins are completely different in aesthetic, visual design and level design - and the Casino level doesn't even look like it belongs in any of the zones. That's pretty crazy.

Also there's the obvious "possibly not used to Wii U" explanation. That said, the game looks like it's running in stellar quality, and personally I like the simplified approach that gives me a clear shot of what I can do, and also lets you take your time in finding hidden secrets and paths.

I am absolutely adoring the look of the Casino zone...Yes I know it looks like a carbon copy of Casino Night Zone from Sonic 2 in 3D, but this makes things even for its (semi) exclusion from Generations. Now all we need is an epic ice/winter stage and all will be forgiven...

There is something off about the lighting in Lost World. I prefer the excellent "Sunlight" look of the above screen. Man Sonic Generations from what I've played on PC looks amazing.

Lost world looks more like a 2d sonic turned 3d. The more realistic look of the picture you posted just isn't true to Sonics origins, imo.

To each his own.

Maybe you'll get your sonic game in a couple years.

Them casino images sealed the deal.

it's nintendo's first-party stuff + bayo 2, so it's missing things like scribblenauts and rayman legends.
