Sonic Lost World - Gamescom Trailer

the concept works but not with these level designs.
i've looked at most of the videos,
all the 2d sections seem to look great and work perfectly.
the 3d ones, seem to be the problem yet again, slowing sonic down was a good idea to help control him.
but when it speeds up, it goes seems to fall apart. the 3d sections look too cramped, they need to be far more open with blockades/obstacles.
To be honest i'm not sure how sonic could ever work in 3d.
i think they are probably doing the best they can, i just hope it switches to a 2d perspective for most of the game, and that the 3d sections are mostly obstacle free but just to show off the speed.
It looks stunning, i just hope it controls well enough.

This is probably bait, but play the last three or four Sonic games and learn that the gameplay works well in 3D when the level design is competent

Green character? is he wearing a Jacket? if not an interesting reference to Scourge-

The versus stuff look like differently colored versions of Sonic, but scourge would be interesting I admit.

this kind of demonstrates what i mean, this is someone from sega playing and look at what happens at 1.17 , what a joke.
If i'm wrong and this is competent level design, then it's all down to the controls.
this shouldn't happen unless the person playing spazzed out.
It's just the fast running forward sections, everything else, 3d or 2d looks great.
I'm just hoping that it's all down to the people playing as it looks fantastic.

My only problem with this game is the gimmicky gamepad stuff for the wisps. Forcing the player to tilt the screen and do gimmicky stuff like that for using powerups is a TERRIBLE idea. Whoever decided that was a good idea should be fired.

Aside from that the game looks absolutely fantastic. Only time will tell whether I'll have the strength of will to avoid getting a Wii U for this game. Of course I definitely plan on getting a Wii U one day anyway, but I was hoping I wouldn't need to get one until it gets seriously cheap. This game looks too good to miss. Please drop the price this year Nintendo.

He hit an enemy that bounces him, not only that, he was carelessly going full speed through a tiny area. That's not bad design at all.

Yeahhhh... I agree. That's a huge turn off for me. It's really tacked on feeling. If there isn't pro controller or wiimote/nunchuck support, I may not get this for a while.

Looks good, definitely like a sequel to Sonic Colors rather than Generations. For me that's good; I thought Colors was a much better title than Generations.

Thought the wisp powers were a much-needed play mechanic flexibility the Sonic series has lacked, so no complaints about more of those.

Looks like the game has a lot of variety. Looks good. Lots of platforming. Worried about the controls but hopefully itll be ok. Game doesn't look like it will be quite as fun for speed running as Generations was.

Same.

Well that, and the fact that dash pads seem to be all over the place again.

I didn't see the video, but I think we've seen enough footage to write off the 3DS version. It has the Sonic Dimps jank.

Don't use it. It's not going to be a problem.

To be quite honest not really a fan of how this entire game seems to be turning out, but I will see.

Maybe its some avant garde sonic that I am havent caught onto yet

Shame they seem to have lost the way that wisps naturally fell into sonic gameplay for gimmicky controls instead.

Also, the competitive multiplayer characters are the virtual sonic robots from colours.

Imo it's too fast, too hectic and the platforming doesn't look like anything new in the franchise (except for the SMG's sphere levels).

Still undecided on this one. I haven't been into Sonic since the Genesis days. I played a few of the newer ones here and there, but they all bored me after a short while. If I'm looking for something to play at the time I'll probably give it a rent.

Are those the same Sonic outfits/robots/whatever from Sonic Colors' multiplayer mode?

& sweet, elemental shields. Lightning Shield for that double jump & ring magnet.

Looks really fun, I'm looking forward to this one. I hope it isn't too easy though and there is enough incentive to do speed runs/item collection.

no he didn't.
watch the video carefully.
he didn't hit anything, when he reaches that section again, the sega rep uses those enemies as an excuse as to what happened before, but if you watch carefully he doesn't hit anything the first time.

I'm not trying to cause an argument, i want this game to be amazing too.
i'm just pointing out what i can see.
visually the game is stunning but seeing this happen is a bad sign.

I'm not sure who'll get more controller time with this - me or my kids. Local multi to the rescue.

It looks really good... I think Sega took a great step forward with Sonic Generations although I just can't seem to bring myself to finish it.

I used to be a HUGE Sonic fan, but after so many disappointments I don't know if I will ever be able to get back into the series but this is a good - very good start.

Anyone else reminded VERY much of a Sonic version of Mario Galaxy?

This game looks really great. One more game added to the long list of games for the rest of the year.

The game is 60 fps right?
