If the Wii version doesn't look as good as SatSR I'm a goan be
pissed. If it looks like that good and can maintain a good framerate... then no problems
I'm not sure which version I'll get though. Depends how much the WiiS2 varies from the PS360.
I hope you didn't mean graphically, there's no way the Wii can come even close to that, unless Sega pushed it so hard it was at least Galaxy's level, even then, Galaxy wasn't close to this!
Also, notice that the 360 logo has "Live" on it at the end? Online confirmed?
The Wii better have Wi-Fi in this case, if not, I'm 100% declaring the Wii version half-assed unless Sega gives us a GOOD reason and makes up for it (a good exclusive feature, etc).
Also, I can now understand fully why Dimps is designing the day stages in the Wii and PS2 versions.
The reason? The sheer graphical complexity of the PS360 version's stages.
No way the WiiS2 versions can replicate those stages without them looking HORRID, with ALL of those buildings, and the necessary huge draw distance to boot, it's a no wonder situation!
I just hope the WiiS2 stages share the same theme and lovely art style!
Very likely of course.
Hope either the Wii version is built ground up or ported from the 360 version, and NOT ported up from the PS2 version.
I think it may very well be ground up, notice the
COMPLETE lack of any
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of the PS2 version other than it's listing in the announcement?
Proof it's the one that's going to be half-assed in one way or another, it for pure profit.
And that the Wii version is getting quite a bit of exposure in the interviews or whatever.
I believe the whole reason why the game even began on the 360, was due to the engine starting development for the system in 2005, way before Sonic '06 was released!
They had no idea of what Sonic's future would be this gen, so they were optimistic enough to make a high-end next-gen engine for a PS360 Sonic game, they obviously believed that Sonic '06 was going to be a smashing success, boy were they wrong.
I highly believe, that Unleashed will be the deciding factor of Sonic's future this gen as far as platforms go.
Sonic's already had 5 appearances on the Wii, and only two on the PS3 and 360 (not counting Unleashed here).
Wii:
Secret Rings
Mario & Sonic
Zero Gravity
Brawl
Sega Superstars Tennis
PS3 and 360:
Sonic '06
Sega Superstars Tennis
So Sonic ain't leaving the Wii anytime soon.
But if Unleashed sells really poorly on the PS3 and 360, I think it's safe to say that Sonic will be saying "sayonara" to the PS3 and the 360 for good.
Unless there's another Superstars game, those kind of games almost always end up on multiple platforms for maximum profit anyway.
I'm done.
