Sony announces two third-party pro controllers for PS4

I kind of really like the Razer one, even if it literally is an Xbox One controller
(I love Xbox One controllers, I'm just saying it copies a lot)
.

But at the end of the day it's a third party controller which I'm not a huge fan of, plus it's not wireless.

Just disappointing they both seem to try and copy the X1 Elite controller instead of evolving the DS4. Already have an X1 elite controller so don't really see the appeal in a "cheap" imitation for me.

More people with online advantage over me, Scuf was already OP af, if you are playing with a player of your skill gap wich I usually am not since I'm way higher than most console players on pubs, but still sometimes I get owned because those guys using those controllers have huge advantages specially in Black Ops 3 since you can jump and shoot at the same time.

Change your control scheme to bumper jumper.

Though before I bought my Scuff a few months ago I got pretty adept with having jump mapped to R3.

Sony promoting a third party controller with an Xbox style asymmetrical stick position. Maybe they are testing the waters so next-gen DualShock 5 has a major design overhaul.

These look like the PS2 controllers your mom made you get at radioshack because she refused to pay $50 for the first party one. The XB1 Elite controller is overpriced as fuck, but it looks amazing and I'd imagine feels great in the hand. These tho...gross.

Sony doesn't care about making a Pro controller then I guess

Both of these being 3rd party wired controllers stymies most of my interest

It's good all those people with asymmetrical thumbs will have a pad that caters to them.

They did it last gen too. There were officially licensed Hori controllers marketed as "FPS pads" that basically aped the 360 design. I think they are just throwing options out there.

Those look so beautiful. Hoping pre orders go up soon.
Funny enough, there was recent thread where the OP and other poster were begging for a PRO controller. Some have expressed their wish for a XB1 style stick placement as well. You have two Pro controllers, one with XB1 style stick placement and all you hear is "This is ugly".....?

I actually sort of like the Razer. I am not sure if it LOOKS ergonomically pleasant but I do like the layout. I might give it a try if it's $99 or less (USD).

Too normal.

e: So much wired hate. I only use my controllers wired so if I was looking for a new one, fine with me.

Oh, noes they're gonna split the instal base! Such division! This will surely cause chaos and panic throughout the global population on PS4 owners.

I want this for my PC. I always wanted a half controller instead of wasd. I'm sure there's another solution out there, but since it also works for PS4 it's interesting. Though I'm sure the mouse option will be very limited in which games it works for.

Yeah me too. I'd like a good console-like joystick for movement on PC while being able to look with a mouse.

OMG how excited was I when I saw this thread! Playing trials and bf1 for long periods makes my hands fingers hurt on the ds4. I've been wanting a pro controller for years and now we get 2 and there both wired? Seriously? Getalyfe

Here's hoping that they can be wireless too, well I don't think the razer can be but the other with the screw in type connector may have a chance.

I'll have to look into the elite with cronus if there's no wireless as my hands can't take much more ds4

DIdn't MS say they spent like 100 million on their elite controller? No wonder Sony would not bother with that kind of thing and license these kinds of things out. Of course, those third parties are gonna do things cheaply
They spent 100 million on the regular controller

Well, I really like the look of these! Now will they come to US or will I have to import??

Anyway I'm thinking of using the one by Razer for PS4 (Pro model by then) and the Nacon model for my gaming laptop.
