Sony E3 2017 Conference Thread [Over]

Definitely a worse than Sony's last two E3s, they couldn't maintain that strength forever :P , with most of what they had to show having been already announced, but I'd say we still got a good line-up for the rest of the year and next year. Hyped for SotC and Spiderman

I thought it was fine, they showed a strong stream of gameplay/trailers so I'm happy. The only thing I'm disappointed in is the lack of surprises. When the Japan Studio logo popped up I thought we were in for something new and exciting but I guess SoTC isn't the worst alternative.

This is the first E3 in a long time where I just felt meh towards anything and everything. Maybe I just need to step away from games for a while, but only a few have interested in me this year and for next year.

Was looking forward to Sony's conference because of how crappy Microsoft's was... But now I'm not sure which company had the worst conference.

Anticlimactic is an understatement. I had the same reaction as the bewildered audience at the end.

"Wait. That's it?"

Average show, but it's really wrong to expect us to be constantly entertained by these shows as if they are supposed to non stop extravaganza.

These conferences should be showing us what's to come, and we all know what to expect out of Sony, so I'm satisfied as far as knowing what to expect.

A big surprise would have been nice, but we have PSX.

Dreams, however, seems so dead to me

Pretty bland conference, everything seems like its 2018 bound, I have 0 hope Nintendo will save this years E3

And game of show is still Wolfenstein II

Thought that was good not brilliant, definitely better than Microsoft. I think some of the impact was lost due to leaks of shadow of the colossus remake and monster hunter (both of which are huge news.) please they are supporting vr, can't understand why peeps would be annoyed they are showing content for vr, proves they just concentrate on games games and more games.

E3 as a whole was pretty lackluster this year. But that happens, not every year can be blockbuster. Two biggest takeaways for me this E3 were Star Wars Battlefront II gameplay and Horizon Zero Dawn DLC. Everything else is either wait for PSX or next E3.

Weird not to see games from either Capcom or From, which they supposedly still have to announce for this fiscal year. Average conference.

FUCK I missed it. From some of the replies though... mayhaps I didn't miss much? Will just watch a re-run whenever there is one I guess.

Ehhhh it was okay. Hard to top last year's conference I suppose.

No TLOU2, no Gran Turismo, no FF7, no surprise reveal.

They should have saved more pre show stuff for the conference

7/10

Was alright, was hoping to see some more of TloU2, it's all good though. I'm not even a fan but damn Spiderman and Miles, instabuy once released.

Not bad. Not a fan of all the Sony games that are all basically the same cinematic game with different characters,. Spidey looked good, not convinced on the swinging system :(

COD looked epic!

Good but not great.

Studio closures are obviously now seriously affecting the quantity of stuff Sony can put out, and they're spreading themselves across Paris, TGS and PSX means E3 isn't getting it much as it did.

Who knows what Sucker Punch is up to?

Oh and unless it comes out during the week, DREAMS is now in serious trouble. I expected a Beta shadowdrop to make up for them missing all last year, but nothing. Get those CV's updated Media Molecule folk because you don't miss this many quarters and survive.

Well I've got uncharted this year at least. Spiderman next year.

Sadly, God of War is a no buy for me. That's a shame because I really loved all of the other God of War games (aside from Ascension).

I'm disappointed that there is no sign of The Last of Us 2. Days gone still looks very early, and a little on the generic side. That's not a condemnation. I don't mind generic shooters. VR is still crap. Gran Turismo looks fine. I just hate the Dualshock 4 for any racing games. That kills my interest level in the game.

No crash team racing. No new controller. A lot of repeats from last year that will probably get repeated again at next year's E3.

I would still rate it higher than Microsoft's conference. Still a LOT more reasons to buy a PS4.

Maybe I'm just easily impressed but I thought it was good. Solid B just like Microsoft. 8/10. Not as good as last year but last year was a 10/10 so it is what it is.

I'm glad this didn't end up having too much for me this year. It means I actually have time to spend on games from earlier in the year, so yeah, I'm content in that regard.

wtf

I'm bummed out.

Felt like the conference was just getting going and then it ended.

No PS Plus updates/announcements/improvements

No PSN announcements, PS1 BC, etc.

All the first-party stuff was already announced...

I know man . It was so short. IIRC all previous years it lasted at least 1:30 hours to 2 hours. I REALLY wanted to see Resident Evil 2 and The Last of Us 2. Seriously WTF!

Microsoft's conference was miles better. They had surprises, indies, all sorts of shit. 42 games. How many games did Sony show? 15, maybe?

Starting out with two DLCs was a good forewarning that they had nothing major up their sleeves.

I commented for the MS conference that they showed lots of games that I'd like to play, but they didn't really sell the reason to play them on MS hardware. Sony's conference did go heavy on the exclusives. Indeed, I'm sort of treating the MS conference as a multiplatform conference in a number of ways.

On the other hand, though, I think Moss was perhaps the only new reveal that made me sit up and take notice, something about that really appealed to me.

I do have to admit, while I can understand it frustrating people who haven't bought into VR, I was somewhat nervous that it'd be quietly sidelined this year (leading to fears about lack of confidence in the medium), so I was pleasantly surprised with how much commitment they showed to it.

Very poor year for new game announcements so far. I mean, Sony had a few but they were all PSVR + Monster Hunter.

On the one hand I'm pretty much going to go broke buying the games they actually showed (Uncharted, Days Gone, God of War, Detroit, SoTC and Spiderman all look like my jam), but it definitely missed a big "wow" new game reveal.

Unless Monster Hunter was meant to be it. But snooze, old form or new form, Monster Hunter is a series I just do not "get".
