I downloaded the file the other night, and just followed the steps on that page, and it was done updating my system in like 10min

I cannot redeem codes on psn because it wants my billing info but lists no states which is a required field :/

Won't kick in until Sony actually update their infrastructure I'd say. Sure it'll settle down as the lot of people go to sleep, but it's gonna continue for most of the week/end.

I was able to log into PSN, and it asked me to update my Privacy Info. Went through those steps, and have been stuck at "Please wait..." for 10 minutes. It acknowledges that I press the PS and O buttons, but won't let me back out.

It's launch night. Hell, the West Coast hasn't started getting their consoles yet, lol.
I'm surprised sites have this as news. It's expected when so many people are taking their consoles home for the first time!
Luckily, I've downloaded the system update to a USB stick, impatient for the next 7 hours to hurry up and go by so I can go get my console from UPS.

Inexcusable. Launch night? You have to figure this is a small sample of people who went out on midnight. What is Sat. night going to look like. My biggest fear was this PSN network holding up. I hope im wrong.

everyone who has a console take a deep breath.. We know shit like this happens on launch day. Just take the controller with you to bed and let the ps4 do its thing.

i downloaded the 1.50 patch fast and the install was fast as well.. i wasnt being able to get on psn but i finally did, selected my avatar and all, but now i am stuck on the "Please Wait..." screen for like 15 minutes... I press "back" and nothing happens, i press Playstation button and it shows that i cant do that..

I was waiting forever but forced my PS4 into standby. Then I started back up and everything went through like clockwork.

I was blown away by how fast the patch downloaded. I do get the pop up but it still lets me get to the store and do the normal tasks such as downloading.

Hit back and go to system update under settings. Should work from there.

I keep seeing complaints around the web of people getting stuck on the billing info screen, specifically the part where you select your state. Has anyone successfully gotten past that part?

Swapped a sshd in mine, updated to 1.50 via USB stick.
All I get is a "you must update the system software before login" message. I go to update the system and it says "system is up to date"
I'd kill for a psn timeout error.
The hour later update:
I had to 'reinstall' the 300MB update _AFTER_ I used the 800MB update when I swapped the drives out.
Now I'm stuck just like the rest of you. Back to reading I go.

Nope, just hung there after entering my address information after entering my PS+ 30-Day trial code. Really wanted to download Resogun for tomorrow and get a few Battlefield matches, but was to be expect I suppose. Just happy to have it home, set up and working!
