Sony Corp., the world's second- biggest consumer electronics maker, said second-quarter profit fell 93 percent and the company cut its full-year forecast as a global recall of its notebook computer batteries widened.
Net income fell to 2 billion yen ($16.8 million) in the three months ended Sept. 30, from 28.5 billion yen a year earlier, the Tokyo-based company said in a preliminary earnings statement today. Annual profit is projected to slide 39 percent because of the recall and a delay in shipping PlayStation 3 game consoles.
WTF?? 93% - every other company would be broken by now. This is gonna be interesting if the PS3 is a succsess and if it can help sony to gain advantage. :x
