Soul Sacrifice (Vita) Demo impressions

To clear the confusion according to the instruction manual (page 24), pressing allies while in the ghost mode rises their attack. :)

Well there you go. Everyone makes mistakes :S

Well, the hope is that you don't use them up and constantly break them. If you do, you can go to your spell menu after a battle, and press triangle while highlighting the spell in question to fix it using the book's tears.

Remember that when you sacrifice a creature (red) you don't just get attack up EXP, but you also replenish your spells. Blue replenishes health. If you break a spell, you can't replenish with a sacrifice in battle. You have to use a tear to fix it. BUT, if it's on its last use, you can stop using it until a trash mob shows up, and you can sacrifice it for more "ammo".
Brilliant, thanks. I'm sure I have more questions but I should probably just find out for myself.

Ask here if you'd like. No one has problems offering help. That's what the thread is for.

As far as 400 points for "Legendary", it seems to be the case with all of the online quests right now, but some of the offline quests are different, so it could vary by quest (or just online/offline) when more quests show up.

Sony should flex some multi-media might with this game. Make an animu, some mango, and release soundtrack CDs. None of the other hunting action games have anime or stuff like that.

Just tried this game earlier for 15min, and while it was awesome, I certainly had no clue what was going on while flipping through the pages. My Japanese is very elementary, and seeing all those Kanjis were overwhelming. I can't even find the option for online. Overall I'm excited for this game; the gameplay is outstanding.

You unlock multiplayer after finishing the prologue.

I saw a part of the demo on Youtube and I must say for a portable game it looks fantastic. The screens don't do it justice here on screen that's bigger than 5".

Lol there is no way Sony would do this. It makes waaayyy to much sense. They didn't even do this for gravity rush (which was just plain stupid).

Yeah it really looks quite nice on the Vita screen. I was impressed :)

4 player co-op looks to be massively fun and engaging. Almost looks like an even more hardcore, fast paced and combat heavy derivative of the Soul series. Thanks for the link.
The game is very fun alright,i played it for around 6-7 hours and one of the things i'm most impressed by is how great it looks including the insane amount of particle effects and i didn't notice any slowdown at all.

I've noticed some slowdowns yesterday and today when all 4 of us started shooting ice shards at enemies. Nothing too terrible though.

Yeah, the ice effect can cause slowdown when all 4 people are using it, especially at close range. I agree that it isn't bad though.

Was watching EpicNameBro's review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHz5vUn6Itw), this game looks really good. I guess I should dust off my vita, find my charger, and finally play something on it for the first time in months. Although it looks like the demo would be tough without knowing japanese. I'm really impressed with how deep it seems to be. Holy crap there's a lot of content for a demo!

I really hope this blows up in Japan, tired of seeing everyone playing the now stale Monster Hunter. Having a lot of fun playing this with friends, internet multiplayer is so smooth.

Any tips for getting legendary status? Is it doable in all the single player quests? Max i've got has been 320 so far.
Been looking at the translated wiki:
Seems like all the points you get are for sacrificing - nothing for saving
And since you need to get your hp below 30% to perform a body sacrifice then you can't get this and points for finishing quest with hp >50, >80 etc.
And the bonus you get for sacrificing yourself - guessing unlocking other sacrifices means you could get 100 each time so will be easier to get legendary in the full game...
Then you can sacrifice the NPC for another 100 - how would you do that tho?
Seems like rather than just playing well you have to play a particular way to get all the drops :/

So glad to hear the combat in this is fast and fluid. Biggest turn-off in MonHun for me is the fighting. How are the controls? Will I need the claw?

My personal best is 480 on Cerberus so far:

Also got quite a few 400+, but yeah, it seems like the easiest way to achieve that is to do a speed clear (+100), do Salamander (+100), sacrifice a teammate (+100) and then be sacrificed yourself (+100). That plus bonus points for freezing etc. should be enough for the Legendary status. It may look like a "specific way" to get the highest score, but given that the sacrifices and forbidden arts are the best way to deal huge damage, it's also the fastest way.

About those additional sacrifices, I think that you'll only be able to equip 1 at a time, so no sacrificing skin and eyes for double points.

There's another Nico Nico Live Stream coming on Dec 28th.
Link.

The charge-up moves and some of the really strong attacks will knock other players over if they are in the area. It doesn't do damage to them, though.
Thanks. I guess that makes sense so that everyone works together instead of spamming away with your special attacks.
I noticed that you can name your character, does this not use your PSN ID? Also, is there away to invite your friends to the room you create for online play?

It uses both, when you join a room it'll say like Kyle (PSN ID) has joined.

And yes, you can invite from friends, recent players, etc.

Gravity Rush got a web comic called Gravity Days. SCEE, SCEJ, and SCEAsia released it. Heck, Tokyo Jungle got a manga series
but in a manga anthology I had never heard of before.

Monster Hunter is full of these. God Eater too.

Ehhh. God Eater has that ONA stuff, and there's Monster Hunter anime with the cats but there's no serialized series for either on TV. Sony should get A1 Pictures (a studio they own) to make the anime instead of making the 22 minute commercial for a Square Enix 3DS franchise.

I love that you could combine spells to create new spells and that Gollum looks cool as hell. I really hope this has a shit load of content.
