Matt MacLean is the lead designer on the game and he sat down with us to talk about the tone of the overall game, the mechanics of combat, and what the South Park RPG has learned from Final Fantasy 7

Guy spends like 95% of the interview trying to not look someone in the eyes, it is wholly distracting.

Nice. I'm totally behind the decision to go 2D since that means the in-game graphics will look just like the TV show. I'm getting pretty excited for this, I love the idea of a quality RPG that's all about crude and offensive humor.

I am so on board for this game. The art direction/gfx are perfect as in it looks like South Park. If they nail the classic JRPG blend of simple but deep combat system and add a hilarious story, I don't see how they can miss.

Also, didn't know Obsidian was an Amish developer.

This is officially one of my three blind buys for 2012. Looks awesome, not even going to take reviews into consideration.

Huge South Park fan, so I'm really looking forward to this. I wonder what platforms it will be released on.

Not a big fan of WRPGs though, but I know Trey is a huge weeaboo, so I'm hoping to see more Paper Mario influence than anything else.
