TripOpt55 said:I just watched the finale tonight. This is a really cool show. I was actually hoping this season would last a bit into summer since it started so late. Heavy was a good way of putting it, thetrin. Man, two of those sequences in the finale were just so intense. Surprising ending too. Looking forward to more of this show. It will be back right?
Not sure why it was short. I guess to just see how would do in a short run and it was short because it was such a late addition. I remember it was involved in some sort of deal with the people who made it and ER (which they made also). I think at least.thetrin said:I sure hope so. That last episode was brilliant.
Any reason this season was only 7 episodes?

I just looked it up and it did get picked up for next season initially for 13 episodes. I suppose if it does well, it'll get more. On NBC's site it says it will be on at 9PM on Fridays though. That's odd. I just record my shows anyway, but Fridays aren't typically great slots. Anyway, nice to hear someone else is enjoying this. I'm going to try and make my family watch it over the summer.
Well, the timeslot doesn't affect me either, I'm just hoping it stays on (assuming it continues to be good). Do you mean the music/credit intro or the way they do the flashback thing? The credit thing is alright, but I really like the mini-flashback thing they do. Very cool.thetrin said:Unfortunate to see it in a Friday time slot, but it doesn't affect me personally. I watch it on Hulu anyway.
Glad to hear it's already been picked up, though. The show has a lot of potential, and it seems to be developing a really great tone of its own.
Anyone else really really love the intro for the show?
TripOpt55 said:So, how intense was that (Finale spoilers). That was pretty cool.part with Regina King with the shotgun at her house
Absolutely, on both counts. I didn't see the ending of the episode coming either. Pretty rough. At least it'll be back in the Fall as opposed to some shows not coming back until 2010.thetrin said:That part was really really well done. The way the camera stays with her the whole time was perfect.
The ending of the episode was a GIGANTIC gut punch.
I surprised by the lack of Ryan in the show. He also doesn't seem to be comfortable playing a cop. We need to get Ryan to cameo appearance in Chuck or Gossip Girl.jamesinclair said:Episodes 3-7 are on Hulu.
Just watched episode 4.... I was very surprised at how Ryan and partner werent in the episode at all, I thought the show was about him. I liked that though, it makes you change your perspective (show about LA cops, not about ryan)
Silent_Echo said:I only caught the last 2 episodes but this is one of the better cop shows I've seen in a long time. VERY realistic cop show. The dark humor, the jaded view of society, and the rediculously dumb people they come in contact with... "then call me a cab!!...... You're a cab!"
I'm convinced a writer has been picking the brain of a real police officer because that is a true-to-life show. I'm not sure the alcoholic and the pain killers addiction are necessary though.

WTF? Was the first season only 7 episodes or something?big ander said:Season 2 of this starts on Friday, and I didn't see a Season 2 topic up yet, unless I missed it. Will there be one?
I loved season 1, the cast was tight, the action was good, and the finale had me really excited.
Yeah season 1 was 7 episodes. Don't know how long season 2 will be.Decado said:WTF? Was the first season only 7 episodes or something?

Nope. NBC will continue to air Dateline in the Southland-slot on Friday nights, as they've been doing the past few weeks. Plus - as much as I'd like Chuck back early, I don't want it on Friday nights, where it'll probably get absolutely terrible ratings.trineo_feo said:So....what does this mean to Chuck? Could it arrive early?
TripOpt55 said:Man that stinks. NBC is angering me these past couple years. I really liked the first season and the finale was really good. So, what are the chances someone else picks the show up?
DMeisterJ said:They'll be shopping it around, probably to FX or somebody. I mean, it delivered good ratings, I don't find it unlikely that it won't live on somewhere else, unless it is a terribly expensive show.
'Southland' Set For Official Pick Up By TNT

I hear it looks certain for a TNT pickup of Southland, which was dumped by NBC. People working on the show are being told to prepare for a projected November 2nd re-start date. Warner Bros has no official announcement. But that's because TNT and NBC are still negotiating some moolah terms, according to my sources.C'mon, was there really any doubt about this? Especially since John Wells and Barry Meyer are joined at the hip? Plus, judging from the fan furor, the show deserved another try.
