Soy Boy: An alt-right insult, but what is it?

http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/soy-boy-insult-what-is-definition-far-righSourcet-men-masculinity-women-a8027816.html

According to Urban Dictionary, the term soy boy means: “Slang used to describe males who completely and utterly lack all necessary masculine qualities. This pathetic state is usually achieved by an over-indulgence of emasculating products and/or ideologies.

“The origin of the term derives from the negative effects soy consumption has been proven to have on the male physique and libido.

“The average soy boy is a feminist, nonathletic, has never been in a fight, will probably marry the first girl that has sex with him, and likely reduces all his arguments to labeling the opposition as ‘Nazis’.”

The term has largely taken the place of the word “cuck”, which has for a while been the insult of choice of many far right people - it’s short for “cuckold” and is used to imply that a man’s wife or girlfriend is cheating on him with a more masculine male.

Soyboy, If you don't know, now you know.

Dont care really. The need to constantly label people or groups is getting out of hand; hell somehow a cartoon frog became a symbol of hate and opinions or articles arent measured by their content but who the author is and where it was published.

Its nuts, and these 'buzzwords' people love to throw around now to trigger one another. Its like highschool, but its grown adults.

Like "cuck", it's likely going to be a one-way insult. A term that they consider to be powerful and demeaning, whilst the people they target with it won't care and laugh it off.

Is it a surprise that the people who are likely the most massively insecure about their "manhood" would use insults that attack that very insecurity?

For the Chuck one I heard this on every Side for the same amount. Stop trying to put ideologies into it. People who use these terms are assholes not part of any ideology or political direction. As for Soy boy never heard of it. But I am also not American so....

Seriously though, don't include too much soy in your diet. The chemical imbalance that can cause is bad for both men and women.

I use soyboy quite often, it was been used in the trans community circles I run in for at least a year or so.

It is used as a catch all for BI or "totally straight but curious" guys who would hit you up on tinder/grindr/whatever and they only wanted to be a bottom. Usually super skinny, bad tatts and often married or in a relationship with a female but gay/bi when they got the chance

Not sure when or why it was picked up by the right though....curious that they started using it, perhaps they were called it themselves and transferred it to be a left wing hate thing

Probably taken over the same way cuck was, as below points out

OMG with these moronic articles. Do you know 4chan has assigned every letter of the sign language a white supremacist symbol? So do we ban sign language next?

You people keep falling for their bullshit and they keep winning because people who use soy boy or pepe or anything these corporate media imbeciles deemed a hate symbol get frustrated with this bullshit and eventually start being sympathetic to the alt-right.

Stop trying to word police especially since you're doing a very bad job at it by taking the bait every. single. time.

The article doesn't claim to police the language nor asks the word to be banned, it's just explaining a new (?) phenomenon for people who aren't aware of it. That's just basic information.

At least it will be easier for them to make sure they're not unknowingly a soy-eater. :p

It is practically word policing because anyone who uses the word is labeled alt-right. Can't you understand how this moronic attitude pushes normal people to the alt-right?

User rocket22 uses that slang.

And the mods look the other way. GAFBart sounds about right.
They also like Nazi numbers (88), but totally because of Bingo, it's just a weird coincidence I swears.

I'm just waiting to hear about how the Swastika is a really beautiful symbol of hope and they were unaware of its modern connotations.

Which is why it is important for people to be aware of that risk. It is a fact that the word is commonly used by the alt-right, so there will always be a risk of association. Someone who doesn't want to be associated with them should better be aware of that and make sure not to use it in an ambiguous situation. It's like Pepe the Frog indeed, you can still use a "feels good man" meme nowadays, but think twice before adding the character to your Christmas cards...

Can't you understand how this moronic attitude pushes normal people to the alt-right?

Honestly... no. Even assuming you would falsely associate someone using "soy boy" to the far right, if he hasn't any affinity with them there's no reason he'd felt pushed towards them, that wouldn't make any sense. "Stop saying I'm alt-right or I'll join the alt-right !".

I know plenty of people who have used it before and they're definitely not alt-right because most of them don't give a shit about politics which btw is the easiest crowd to influence.

I sometimes wonder if people realize how idiotic everyone will look in a historical perspective with the insults that we hurl back and forth at each other that change every few months. "Soy Boy," "Snowflake," and "cuck" remind me of insults that sound as stupid as "carpetbagger" and "scalawag".

We picked a horrible time in the world's history to really ramp up overt hatred for each other based on political tribes.

Excess soy intake contributes to more estrogen, that's why when bodybuilding I tended to stay away from that stuff.

People are so mad they can't use soy boy they start to use it even more

I think you do not understand how the internet works. Especially not the troll part. The more you are upset about it and the more articles like this are written the more they will use these words, memes etc. Internet is out there to troll and triggger people. Why do you think stupid shit like Kekistan suddendly became a meme?

The internet reduces grown adults to the level of high schoolers, or worse.

People love to boil things down to simple categorizing insults, meant to disqualify the opponent in an argument. People on both sides of arguments do it constantly. Everyone left of center is a "soy boy," "shitlib," or "communist." Everyone right of center is a "nazi," "fascist," or "racist." After a while they become powerless from overuse, and the meme makers have to go back to the drawing board.

I guess that when new terms come around there are people who go mad for them like any fad. It's not especially new considering "brewer's droop" was a running joke ages ago but soy is more of a new fad than beer and penis pills make it less of an issue. Probably extra hoppy beer is a worse offender than soy which has other health benefits that beer does not.

Actually its worse than that everyone left of the far left and right of the far right are called those things. If you don't agree with the group think of either far end you are labeled as both fascist and communist.

I'm aware of what Internet trolls do. I'm also aware that they are too afraid to use this shit in real life and no one really cares about them

Y'all might hate me for this, but when I went Vegetarian I ate a lot of soy I noticed huge changed is my mood and motivation. This is an anecdote, but I felt like I was going crazy for awhile until I got away from it and returned to my personal center.

Its why dick pills are so popular lately. Men under 40 are experience ED at an alarming rate.

Men are weak as fuck now.

All you need to know

And a beaitiful song explains it even better..
https://youtu.be/tG_z6HdfS50

Isn't a lot of that from porn...? Like a guy who has been watching all the hardcore porn he wants and jerking off since he was 12 gets into a real relationship with a normal looking girl who isn't into a lot of weird stuff, so he can't get it up...?

I swear a lot of young men of this generation are going to go into sex lives expecting salad tossing, DPs, and donkey threesomes as normal, and are going to be sorely disappointed.

Is it? The continued use seemed to me to be a result of its effectiveness against most intended targets. Like calling the alt-right Nazis.

Show me a peer reviewed study from a reputable source. Or any claim made by any trade or health group from any country.

(Some people are sensitive or allergic to soy. It's one of the more common food allergies. But the claims on the effects it has on the body are contradictory and controversial at best. Research before parroting claims.)

Cuck is a great insult with a deeply hurtful meaning ("you are so inadequate as a partner you have and will be cheated on for a better").

"Soyboy" is just meaningless and childish in comparison.

This is a casual and informative article about what people are doing. No need to go off the deep end about it.
