Don't know if that leak is true, but I'm looking forward to getting something in the $500 tier from either Red or Green team, doesn't matter to me. Leaning towards Nvidia since I've been impressed with DLSS 2.0 and I think they'll have better RT performance. Really hoping these are ready in time for Cyberpunk. It would be great to play it on a new 3070.

Real specs for Nvidia cards tend to never leak until right before they are officially revealed, which supposedly won't be until August, so I'm not buying this. There's that architecture reveal thing in two weeks, but I really doubt they'll be announcing gaming cards at that event.

The architecture, yes. Consumer gaming cards? I doubt it. I think it's much more likely that they'll reveal the actual cards in August and then launch them in September, just like they did with Turing.

Tesla cards are usually in line with their gaming counterpart. Biggest difference is how their memory setup is configured.

Given that a 1060 was on par with the 980, and 2060 was on par with the 1080, I think a reasonable expectation is that the 3060 should be around the 2080 in performance. XSX is said to have "basically" 2080 performance in Gears 5 at this point. I'd say 3060 will be a $350-400 card that matches the XSX, or maybe even beats it with OC, and beats PS5 by around 15-20% depending on OC. That's why I'm planning on shooting for at least a 3070.

Yep I was wrong in my calc. Used AMD's shader count per CU instead.

3080TI is 33TF at 2ghz.

AMD is never catching up at this rate unless they make a 600mm2 monster.

What are they gonna do pawn their consoles and pony up over 3 times the cost of an XSX to build a high end gaming PC? There is a clear price range where the Xbox is a pretty good choice compared to PC if you just want access to games. We get all games from Xbox. I'm glad the fans accept it because their acceptance helps increase the likelihood that more good games come to PC.

I wouldn't use a console for anything other than games I couldn't play on my PC because every fucking aspect of them is locked down in one way or another. But the business works, sell them something at cost or even above and make them buy content. It results in better tech for the content. If most of the market was on $400-$500 PCs games would be pretty shitty.
