[speculation-Age] What's Nintendo got up their sleeve for E3?

Haha, no not really. I just lowball my expectations like this. But to be really honest, I think this will happen at the E3 this year. There will be cracks about Reggie and WiiFit, youtube vids and everything. And after last years E3 games blowout, I don't expect much of announcements. Especialy from Nintendo. Everything not expected is a plus really.

I'd rather have a new Zelda, Pikmin, Excite Truck, Resident Evil, Beyond Good & Evil, Final Fantasy, Dragonquest, good western dev FPS etc. But it ain't gonna happen.

They discuss how Nintendo can always screw up and how they're always wrong for weeks and weeks with the MediaCreate/NPD threads.

Why should a business-oriented tradeshow be any different?

I didn't want to spoil the surprise for anyone but,
Reggie is going to walk on stage surrounded by several little people dressed as pikmin.

So, Pikmin 3.
 
Being able to read a set number of games off the SD Card and play them. (Set number because the Wii only has 48 Channel slots)

New DS (100% Sure that ATLEAST a redisign will show up. Would not be suprised if a new one altogether showed up since DS is basicly dead...)

Kid Icarus (We already know it will be at E3)

and ANIMAL CROSSING ANIMAL CROSSING ANIMAL CROSSING!!! (Please?)

I don't know why, but I expect to be disappointed. Why? Because Nintendo is now the leader and they don't need to make a great show, exactly like last year.

And mark my words: E3 Press Conference will be a massive disappointment, but TONS of screens and videos will come out few minutes after it. And the entire media catalogue will rock the GAF.

Some of 'em may be way out there, but to hell with it. Here are my predictions for Nintendo's E3 '08 press conference:

- Punch Out Wii will be announced and it'll be out by the holidays. Miyamoto's Mii will pound Reggie's Mii face in during a live demonstation at the E3 '08 press conference.

- Animal Crossing Wii will be unveiled, but the character you control will be your own Mii. It'll sport a lot of features that promote social interactivity, making it Nintendo's answer to home.

- Kid Icarus Wii will be revealed. Link will be out of the spotlight for the next year or so while Pit gets his shot at being Nintendo's next immensely popular blade wielding hero (it'll be developed by the Twilight Princess team).

- Fatal Frame Wii will be demonstrated and it will floor everyone.

- Ubi Soft will show off Red Steel 2 and it'll look better than the first.
 
What I really would want to see, more than Pikmin 3 or whatever, would be a new 2D Mario, Zelda or Metroid WiiWare game.

Metroid Dread is real until Nintendo personally says to me, it's dead.

EDIT: Also, when it comes to Punch-Out!!, I doubt they'd use Miis. It would feel too much like Wii Boxing, and wouldn't feel enough like Punch-Out!!.

The concepts of Pac-man VS. and Connectivity evolved into the DS and most recently the Wii, so I've learned to take gamer complaints with a grain of salt.

Wasn't last year's really terrible? Whichever one they unveiled Wii Fit, which I'm pretty sure was last year, was absolutely awful and disappointing. I expect nothing more from this year, and if it's better I'll be glad.

That being said, ANIMAL CROSSING WII OR YOU DIE NINTENDO!

I liked last year, mostly because we got to finally see Metroid being played and Mario Kart announced. Seeing as it's so late again most info will come out before except for 1 or 2 big announcements for the fall. People expecting these "new" E3's to be like the past are nuts. The game has changed for the companies.

1.)We found out about EBA through E3 '06/'07 or so
2.)Reggie said that he would want to work with iNiS on a sequel
3.)iNiS is working on an "Untitled Wii Project"

EBA on the Wii would rock! that's one of my favorite DS games. I think if they do it on the wii they really need to make sure it works well. Maybe even throw in Balance Board as a bonus way to play it.
 
For me I really want Nintendo to open up the storange capabilities of the Wii...

The maximum limit of 2gb is lame...and as far as I know all it needs is an firmware upgrade correct? If it was boosted to 8gb...that would be quite something...

Even better ofcourse would be a hardrive...but I'm not holding my breathe...so expanding SD limit is more likely.

No, no, no and NO. EBA on the Wii would phail. The whole point is to hit the notes fast with your stylus. Putting it onto the Wii would severely restrict the speed and make the whole thing impossible. Plus the dragging and spinning would be a pain in the ass, because the Wiimote isn't nearly as precise. Also, where would the animations go, a split-screen? That would suck,

EBA on Wii? Hmm...I dunno man! I can't quite imagine how that would work out and it would definately not be as precise as the DS version much like Trauma Centre on the Wii...

My guesses:

Animal Crossing - Whoever usually does it, starring your Mii
Punch-Out!! or Pikmin - Nintendo Tokyo
Kid Icarus - From Factor 5
Wii Music will be Nintendo's next big casual game
We will see nothing from Retro, but there will be a lot of rumors

Update to the Mii Channel to coincide with Animal Crossing
