Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer

So he has a third persona in this film? He's Peter Parker, Spiderman and also Miles Morales? I didn't see anything like this in the trailer.

No idea about War Machine, but The Falcon is Captain America's sidekick.

Miles Morales was a character from the Ultimate Spiderman universe. He took up the mantle of Spider-Man after that world's Peter Parker died. He's a biracial black/latino teenager making him the first non-white Spider-Man
(I might be wrong about this part)
.

I like the idea of Miles, but the boy ain't got no personality or flavor. That shit might play in Batmanland or X-World. But as a Spiderman you got to be styling and profiling.

Peter=OG, the man that set the standard
Miguel= Shocking, just Shocking
Ben=Peter was so nice they did him twice.
Miles=Gets lost in his own supporting cast

Oh man, that's great.

Nah. I kind of want to see all of the characters up on screen in their original incarnations, especially while Stan Lee's still making cameo appearances.

eh, I barely consider this his original incarnation with the excessive folding of Ultimate elements into it. I know that isn't exclusive to Peter in the MCU but it's done to such a degree that I can't really get with him as Peter.

To be fair I don't really like teenage Peter that much to begin with and I actively hate everything about the Ultimate Spider-Man stuff that I read.

Hannibal's apparently playing Peter's gym teacher. But we have no idea who Donald Glover is playing, other than he's hanging around with one of the Shocker guys in one scene in the trailer.

And Bokeem Woodbine is apparently gonna be the main Shocker. What is up with all these electric black people?

They should have made had a black spiderman or at least make his character a woman, because yes girl's can be superhero's too. Would have been better than this typical casting.
Do you seriously think nobody knew who Spider-Man was before those movies? Either this is a committed trolling attempt or you may need to get some shit straight....

Uhh I am talking about the general public, which does not read comic books and therefor did not know of such a character until the big screen. The same reason why people know of Batman & Superman, and now thanks to this new generation of movies, Captain America & Iron Man.

Also for those reading this I am a woman, and if you do not know someone's gender on the internet you should probably be using the word "they"

Starting to mull the idea that Glover might be playing Spencer Smythe who creates the Spider-Slayers. Following the bad guys, watching what works and what doesn't for the creation of Parker-specific war machines in the future movies. It's a bit too out there and maybe even a bit to clean to expect that kind of forward thinking but this is reckless speculation time anyway

Seriously, I remember my (then) 70 year old grandpa in Pakistan who barely watched TV knowing who Spider-Man was in the early 90s.

Spider-Man, Superman and Batman have been in pop culture (worldwide) since forever. Their movies got made because they were popular to begin with, not the other way around.

Just an additional note: I love the Raimi Spider-Man films.

Skip Spencer and go straight to Alistair

Spider-Man's been known before his movie yo. Like, actually known.

I repeat my statement... This is either a committed troll attempt, or you need to get some shit straight.

Spider-Man has been a cultural icon for decades. His costume is instantly recognizable, the swinging/wall crawling are unmistakable, and the old theme song was as well-ingrained into cultural vernacular as the 60's Batman theme.

You could easily argue people don't know specifics like "Green Goblin is Norman Osborn" or "Gwen Stacy dies on the bridge" like with any superhero, but the image and core concept of Spider-Man didn't just suddenly become popular because of a Sam Raimi movie...

Iron Man was nowhere near that level before he got that movie. Captain America was sort of recognizable, but like Wonder Woman, very few people could tell you anything about him. But Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, and maybe even the Hulk have been central pop-culture concepts for decades.

I disagree. He might have been known to comic book readers, but I would say that is about it. Honestly I can't really argue with you because my knowledge of Spiderman comes from the movie Spiderman (2002), which I saw when I was 6.

Saying that a cultural icon isn't a cultural icon because you did know about it yourself isn't an argument >.>

What if Bokeem starts as the Shocker and ends up Tombstone?

Tombstone and gang villains in general are probably going to be more of a Netflix thing IMO
