All of this in one package.
I own Spider-Man on PS4 + all the DLC's (in fact I have the PS4 Pro Spider-Man Limited Edition :messenger_smirking:) and yes, I do expect that when I put the game on my futur PS5, I have all the bells and whistles that the PS5 can do.
As the bc wasn't bad enough, now I have to rebuy the game for what, 40 euros ? Thx but no.

Where does it say you get UHD on package?

Well, ill pick it up it hits the bargain bin for 20 when i get my PS5 next year. I missed the pre-order, so only cool new thing ill be playing is cyberpunk on the pro in November, which is fine, really gonna dig into that one.

I bought the first one, but I found it out boring. Same as watch dogs and other non-gta open city games. Fuck the all collectibles and fights.

If I get MM, it will from sale. Or used if they release physical

I'm getting MM only because:

1- Played the first game on PS4.
2- I hate anti-consumer practices.

Are you suggesting the Bluray allows access to a UHD digital version of the film? It doesn't, its 1080p, this is not any way relevant to the argument because the DVD is worth nothing these days, just the cost of manufacturing the disc and the digital version is just going to be the same file as is on Google Play, so no extra effort there at all.

This is a remastered version of Spiderman 2018 with the differences that others here have pointed out + a whole new standalone game for $10 more than the original 2018 version was at launch in total. Seems like a decent deal, the game is only 2 years old.

Fair enough, it was just to point the fact that there is 3 version for one buy, and they could do the same for owner of Spider-Man on PS4. I should be able to download the PS5 version without any coast, and buy MM if I want to.
I honestly dont understand how you can defend this, it's a really bad practice imho. And I'll go further by saying it would have been a great move for Sony to offer Miles Morales when you buy a PS5, for a limited time. Missed opportunity as it could be a good showcase for the PS5.

Will get both. I'd like to replay Spiderman eventually and the launch void that usually follows is a good time for that.

Didn't touch the PS4 version. If more pre-orders for PS5 show up and I snag one I'd probably get the double pack version to play through both games but it's not a huge concern either way. If I had gotten in on Spider-Man PS4 I'd be pretty annoyed with their pricing and upgrade policy.

I get the advantage but you might not tell a difference I'll just take advantage of the MM version you never buy the same game twice

Buying the UE of SS:MM. absolutely loved Spider-Man, so the thought of replaying with updated graphics and new trophies has me pumped.

I thought you couldn't just buy the remaster on it's own. Dont you have to buy Miles Morales ultimate to get it?

it comes to this: if you played the first one go Miles only, if you havent played the first one like myself, well buy the Ultimate.

I'm in no hurry to replay Marvel's Spider-Man so soon, so I'm only going to get Miles Morales. I'll hold off on the remaster for a good sale or if/when it comes to PS Plus.

I don't agree. I played the first, even got the platinum. This gives me a chance to replay it. They have said the game will look a lot better too. I'm pretty excited.

Pretty clever of Sony to make it look like a deal while still being able to charge that 70 bucks that all games seem to be going to. They got me by the balls. DS and Spiderman bundle bought.

They are afraid people will buy ps4 cheap version and upgrade it.
For me, legitimate steps are:
1)announce ps5 ultimate
2)announce ps4 mm dlc
3)announce free upgrade from ps4 to ps5 for People, who bought (played) spidey before announcements

Clear and fair.

I played Spider-Man and there's no replayability. So I'm going for stand alone MM PS4 version and trading it as soon as I can. No plans on getting a PS5, so I'm good with the PS4 version.

yeah i know but i said that for the ppl who are complaining and already play it but dont want to pay again. if you know the value of the remaster your gonna play it.

Sorry guys, I know I'm feeding the beast but I'm going to get the deluxe version for 80 euros.
I just want my puddles to give out real reflections, you know?

This Next-Gen Upgrade has obviously caused a few problems.
You have games that are cross gen that are being given a free Next-Gen Upgrade (except COD, Control)
And there is a few older titles that will offer an upgraded experience (The Witcher 3)
And then their is the completely separate Remastered Titles that have been redone for the PS5 (Marvel's Spider-man Remastered, Demon Souls)
All should be free?

That's the thing, we don't know
There probably more work out into The Witcher 3 and Spider-man then say Blops and Control
Then again there might actually be less work done with all of them compared to Spider-man or visa versa.

For me it's going to be neither. I didn't like Miles Morales in the first game and I got bored with the mechanics when I was platinuming the base game.

When its free on plus. Or maybe when its priced accordingly for a dlc ($20).

Didn't care for the character at all.

Haven´t bought it on PS4, so when i´ll be done with Cyberpunk and valhalla i´ll pick up the UE on the PS5. Since i haven´t bought it yet i couldn´t care less about the discussion whether it should be a free upgrade or not.

I had plans to buy Miles Morales but I don't like how they don't offer the remastered version to people who own the 2018 game. I might buy Miles Moraless used at some point.

I got the original PS4 version of Spider-Man on sale for 15 bucks and the way things are looking, I'll never buy it again.

Shouldn't expect free remasters of stuff you own, especially if significant work went into them. However, it would've been nice if customer who already own the game got the upgrade for free (or at least some upgrade), and sometimes that's worth more in the long run than $20 now.

I thought the first game was alright. Not sure if I'll get anything, but if I do it'll just be MM PS5.

I guess for Sony, free upgrades are going to only be for upcoming cross-gen games, but wouldn't that mean that they'll be the same $70 price across PS4/5, otherwise why even buy the PS5 version directly.

Why would anyone want/need a remaster when you have an awesome 2018 version that will work in your ps5 instantly.

This is why Sony will never be better. They have too many people that are willing to excuse their behavior and defend them regardless of what they do.

Miles Morales only for me. Already completed the 2018 base game and the entire City That Never Sleeps expansion so no reason for me to want the original game or expansion.

Why should they "be better"? Compared to whom? In terms of what? Business practices? Quality of product? General strategy they are following (or trying to) with their products?

I don't agree with the practice but so far no one has voted remastered only.

That doesn't in any way validate the practise. It more tells you no one wants to buy their ripoff 'remaster' doesn't it?

To be clear, I don't not want the remaster - but I will never pay one cent for it (unless when it's reviewed it turns out there's actual new content , not just turning on higher settings).

Currently planning on just SM:MM on PS5. Since we still havent seen the remaster, so til then its not even on my radar. If they changed a enough I may replay SM.
