Splatoon 2 Global Testfire up on US eShop (Switch)

Wait, does the Switch have a remote download feature?

Not yet, but the Wii U and 3DS does, so expect it to pop up in a future firmware update.

Looks like I might be wrong on this.

because it uses the same art style as the first game

no seriously, that's why

So what these folks excuse for practically every other sequel ever made?

we don't know yet but that wasn't in the original game

dark theme stays winning

I like the white theme but it's just so blindingly bright at times. It's possible my TV is mis-calibrated but a soft gray would have been nicer.

That's not why, and you know it.

Wait, does the Switch have a remote download feature?

Yes, but it's not the most useful thing ever right now, because downloads don't actually start while the system is in sleep mode. If there's an entry for it on nintendo.com, you can start the download remotely.

Do we know anything about what's in Splatoon 2? It's not going to be Splatoon Deluxe, is it?

I have no idea why the fuck this is such a massive concern for y'all. No one looks at Halo games and goes: "Hmm, how do we know this is really Halo 5 and not Halo 4 deluxe???"

It's got new maps, new weapons, new mechanics, a new campaign, new modes.

Ya know, like the type of shit you'd see in a shooter's sequel.

Only Nintendo would beta test for 1 hour, god forbid you let people play over an entire weekend.

This has been discussed ad nauseam, but they are clearly doing it to funnel everyone into the same time frame to test the servers. That's the whole point of this. It's more than just a demo.

People just aren't paying attention. Name should've been enough though.
To some degree I wonder if some of the twitter rumors were to blame for this, considering they were the ones pushing the "Splatoon 1.5" narrative

I think because there was a rumor that Splatoon and MK8 would would be ported to Switch, and half of that rumor is true, so people mistakenly assume the other half is true too.

It's because when it was originally announced, there was only mention of new maps and new weapons. Which made it sound more like DLC than a full fledged game. No need to get bent out of shape over a question.

Didn't you hear? Halo 5 is actually Halo 2 Super Deluxe Elite Edition.

Believe that it was reported that it was 720/60 on both handheld and TV mode at the January event, but a demo 5-6 months or more before release isn't indicative of the final product at all.

I hope the final product is at least 900p. They were able to pull 720p 60 on the Wii U. I can't see why they couldn't squeeze a few extra p's with the added power of the Switch.

Do we know if this will run 1080p on tv?

we do not - the devs are prioritizing frame rate, though:

And the graphics have gotten better too, thanks to the Nintendo Switch’s hardware.

We’re working on improving the graphics, but our number one priority is having it run at 60 FPS. I think we definitely need to keep the responsiveness from the first game, so that takes priority during graphics adjustments.
