After rolling credits, Splatoon Raiders made it clear that there is still a good amount of post-game content to check out. I just don't feel much of a drive to play more. I had fun drowning all of those salmonids in ink. But just like them, I've had my fill.

TheSixthAxis: 9/10
Splatoon Raiders is great. Putting more of a focus on solo and co-op for this game has led to an adventure with a really satisfying progression as you level up, grind stages for experience and gear, and build up your loadout to tackle the next big challenge.

Stevivor: 6/10
By removing Turf War and transitioning to something pretty close to a first-person shooter, Nintendo has taken what makes the franchise unique and discarded it with Splatoon Raiders.

SECTOR: 8.5/10
Splatoon Raiders is a partially refreshing spin-off with new gameplay aimed at rich loot, fast combat system and vast customization making this hunt for treasure refreshing even after 15 hours. The co-op or multiplayer components' cannot be denied, but if you want to honor your Splatoon skills in different ways, this is one charming title to do so.

GamersGlobal: 7.5/10
Splatoon Raiders got great shooter qualities. It''s a perfect game for turning my head off after a long day and just splat away. But I would be more happy, if I could raid a treasure island that got more moments that stick out besides cool boss fights and well made cutscenes that are few and far between.

Gameliner: 3.5/5
Splatoon Raiders is Splatoon through and through: the core gameplay, controls, and movement are as enjoyable as ever, while tanks, gadgets, and a Monster Hunter-inspired structure add a fresh twist. However, beneath that solid foundation, repetitive missions, uninspired level design, and a lack of standout moments keep it from leaving a lasting impression.

Eurogamer Portugal: 4/5
Splatoon Raiders does exactly what Splatoon has always done: deliver instant fun in a colorful shooting festival. Your reflexes and understanding of the mechanics are constantly put to the test in an ingeniously simple design that celebrates Nintendo's philosophies, as interpreted here by its newest generation.

Loot Level Chill: 9/10
An exceptionally entertaining single player adventure, Splatoon Raiders is expertly designed, full of content, and just a fantastic time.

CGMagazine: 8.5/10
Splatoon Raiders is proof positive the series can evolve past its competitive multiplayer roots, creating a fun and engaging ARPG experience that's hard to put down.

Console Creatures: 8/10
Splatoon Raiders is a genuinely great twist on the Splatoon formula. Going in, I wasn't sure what to expect, but as I left the tutorial, I knew this was a game that I find far and above more my preference than the mainline games. It might not have the deepest story, but what Splatoon Raiders does have is a sense of adventure, and the island hopping in search of treasure does just enough with its story and characters to keep you entertained through to the credits.

"Nintendo has taken what makes the franchise unique and discarded it with Splatoon Raiders"

that's how the game looked to me in every gameplay video they showed.

so as someone who mainly plays Splatoon for the single player campaigns, this single player only spinoff is BY FAR the least appealing one of the entire series for me. which is quite ironic

A little more tepid than expected. It does feel a little underwhelming from the previews with the reused enemies and the trio from Splatoon 3 again.

Let me judge the game for what it isn't instead of for what it is.

Never understood this "review" angle. It's what a young game "journalist" does who's doomed to the fry kitchen sooner or later.

Game looks fun- expand on what it is you do, how long you do it for, and if it's fun or not.

My biggest concern was lack of content but apparently the main campaign is around 20 hours and there's a robust postgame. Can't wait.

Nintendo Life review definitely sells this game as a must play… the enthusiasm is hard to ignore, and NL have been much more negative over the last six months or so, which makes me think it's legitimately a lot of fun and packed with content.

That pretty much encapsulates how I feel about this one too.

Hopefully we'll get Splatoon 4 in a year or two.

20 hour campaign and substantial postgame with 100+ weapons and 3 character classes(Speed, Power, Tactical) with different gadgets and a plethora of upgrades with a capacity system will keep you grinding away for a long time.

Low premium game cost of $50 is also very good.

Can play the whole game Single Player or with others.

Phantasy Splatoon Online has never looked more enticing.

Preloaded and ready to go.

This post got me interested now.

Going to check out more reviews and gameplay to potentially pick it up for me and my son.

I missed out on the $10 off amazon preorder from the other day. Really kicking myself for not just locking it in. Anyone know if they'll bring this back before release or any other outlets that are doing something similar?

Words cannot express how hard I rolled my eyes at that Stevior review blurb. Jesus Christ there's been three whole games where Turf War and similar competitive modes was the core of the game. After a decade maybe, just maybe, it's time to try something different?

It's not like this will be replacing the inevitable Splatoon 4.

I think it is a lazy game, and Nintendo has been lazy AF with the Switch 2.

THis is a spin off, I was expecting a new gameplay; a strategy game like XCOM could have been fun for example, with the ink mechanics.

Instead, we get something really iterative; it controls the same as previous Splatoon, it looks the same, it sounds the same.

I usually like your posts and on paper you almost convinced me because i like shooters and great progression, then i watched some gameplay and it look like temu ratched and clank with horrible graphic and art design and confusing as hell...

Maybe i need to watch other footage :lollipop_grinning_sweat:
