Splice hits theaters June 4th.

I dont even know how the fuck im gonna watch this since i think its not gonna be on theaters over here, but man i want to, so bad.

It's feet look like high heels.

Anyways, the ads had a few moments of unintentional humor but it looks like it has some potential and Brody is great so it's a might watch for me.

Quite honestly have no interest in seeing this. It looks cliche and run of the mill to me. I'm a horror movie snob and this is just another Jeepers Creepers type movie with scientists instead of college kids.

Oh, then it would be awesome. You fail as a horror movie snob.

So... exactly why did we need a new thread when there was already a current one in use? Oh wait, that one has no links to your site.

I remember the commercial coming on for this movie, and I thought theyre making another Species movie?

Did anybody else get this vibe?

I'll probably go watch it, the lady wants to see it.

You can really say with a straight face that Jeepers Creepers was any form of a good movie? :lol

Easily. :lol

It keeps piling on the revelations, features a plausible relationship at its core, and has some pretty daring subtext about the director.

Oh, but since you're playing the snob card, where did you go to film school?

My wife wants to see this really bad so just a matter of time before I cave. Personally, I am on the fence with the ads so far.

Easy big fella... it wasn't an attack on you, nor was I pulling any kind of card. It takes a lot to scare me in a movie and these chaser style horror movies dont do it. They're all the same. One doesn't need to attend film school to see predictability, plot holes, bad acting and boring subtext in a movie. But I guess that's what to expect from B-level.

So, the creeper.... comes out every 23 years and tracks people through their fear. So he uses a busted up old truck to run them down and begin their fear.... really? You're a winged demon and you have to use some busted up old Dodge? Swoop in front of me with a predator face and some wings and I'll shit my pants happily for you. Dont need to use a farm truck to do it.

Then... nosy college kids notice some creepy dude throwing what looks like body parts down a hole. What's a cliche white couple to do? Go investigate! (Zoinks!) Thats not all of the lame decisions they make throughout the course of it. Then, in order to explain everything they've seen, they go visit the local psychic.... because that hasn't been used before.

All of the scares are cheap music crescendo jump-out-of-nowhere style thrills that are overused in every other movie of the type.

Anyway, I could go on... but your opinion of the movie obviously differs from mine... no need to split hairs.

Hey, you said you were a snob. Don't cry when you get called out.

Also, your analysis is pretty boring and exactly what I expected.

This. Looks. Awesome. Just jumped from the Karate Kid remake thread (most pointless remake ever) and so glad there's still originality left somewhere.

Karate Kid remake was so much better than this film.

Can someone spoil the film for me? I have no interest in going to see it in theaters but curious if it concludes in a different path than Species.

looks like we got quoted on a TV spot for this. If anyone has it and can screencap that would be amazing! It's:

"Deliciously twisted" - Jack Giroux

:D

from my June thread:

It wasn't good at all, unless it was supposed to be hilarious. The "shocking" moments were so laughable, everyone in my theater erupted. The acting was poor and the whole second half just felt off. The beginning is pretty good though and there are a few scenes that were quite well done, but I'm kind of shocked at the extremely great response.

Cube was a genius piece of minimalist concept and direction. Cypher was also pretty great but in a different way. Nothing was pretty lame though. I am looking forward to this movie as i want Vincenzo to have a chance of making more movies.

Am I insane, or was this called Species about a decade or so ago?

Pretty much this.

I also hate how this is called science fiction. Yeah? Then so was Mimic.

If any lab in the US "accidentally" created a humanoid lifeform, they'd destroy it immediately to avoid the government shitstorm that would come down on their lab.

I absolutely fucking agree. I just came back from this steaming piece of shit and it has to be the worst movie I've seen since the Spirit. Hell, the Spirit was way better than this fucking thing. The trailer makes it look like a sci-fi action horror movie, right? Fuck no, it's a sci-fi softcore porn character drama movie. There are at least like four sex scenes in this movie that are all incredibly awkward and quite frankly disgusting. And everything in this movie looked like a penis.

People are claiming Jonah Hex is a contender for worst movie of the year? Bullshit. There is literally no way it could be worse than Splice. It could be an hour and a half of close-ups on Megan Fox's club thumb and it would have more redeeming qualities to it.

I actually want to see it more after this post.

Hahaha, this film sounds great. Definitely excited to see it tomorrow.

Also worse than Spirit? Yeah right mate.

I agree with the Karate Kid comment, such a pointless remake. But I'm sure it will be a decent film. Not even close to as good as the original though. Jackie Chan is no Mr. Miyagi, and also Karate isn't Chinese.

(with apologies to Tkawsome)

It feels like a Cronenberg movie, but the execution is seriously terrible. I'm flabbergasted at the reviews. Most of them just seem to say Hollywood is doing something different so let's praise it! Yet most of this has been done and better at that.

:lol

Neither were the countless Tae Kwan Do moves that they utilized within the film.
