Context is completely different...

*shrug*

See, I dunno. I got the part about theatrics, but then they throw in goddamn ammonites again and I just got confused again.

Godannar 25

The mother of all cat fights in this episode. Loads of I love him no I love him going on. Threats of double suicides and black holes and such, but then the power of love kicks in and its time to attack its weak point for massive damage. Best lines in the episode:
"WHAT?! ARE YOU ON CRACK?!"
"Handling a giant robot is a lot like handling a husband."

One episode to go and the show has definitely picked up for it.

Sword Art Online 16

Beatin' in the real world. Khan Basilio is a bar keep in the real world? Seriously, this guy is way awesome. How often d'you suppose Kirito gets carded, though? Alfheim, land of the fairies? Well, there's just no way this could go wrong, right? Right? Right? New OP is not as good as old OP.

Wait, this game has no sword skills, no magic, no levels and Kirito is calling it hardcore? Oh god, this show doesn't know anything about anything about video games at all. Also, is this even Sword Art Online anymore? Because apparently we aren't even playing that now.

And then Suguha choked to death and no one had to put up with her incest pandering character ever again. THE END. Spriggan? As in Gerard Spriggan of Gundam AGE? I know, I know, but STILL.

Kirito needs to not play video games anymore. His copies are always defective. Also using the username Kirito when you play a video game run by a man who would like nothing more than to have you bumped off is probably not a smart idea, Kirito.

Man, gotta put up with this kid again? Speaking of, I know like, the "government" forbade Kirito and like, all the SAO survivors from speaking about it, LOL 6000 people world wide and no one spills their beans? Yeah right. But shouldn't he have been in counseling? I mean, Kirito had a life in a computer world where he had a wife and child and saw people die and had to kill, too. So uh, shouldn't he be pretty fucked up in the head when all of that is suddenly ripped away? And shouldn't he need to see someone about it? I mean, having Egil nearby must definitely help, but still.

You'll always be a Beater to us, Kirito. Actually, can we talk about this for a minute? I don't know which is worse, really: the idea that Kirito would have to actually regain all his skills mid-show, or that he once again doesn't really have to earn his powers but is just badass for the sake of being a badass. Because either way you look at it, its just kind of a no-win situation of stupidity.

And Leafa is nooooooot where its at. Honestly, this show would be much better if it had gone in a different direction and had Kirito having to come to grips with a world in which he was NOT powerful while also trying to save Asuna and solve the mystery of her imprisonment. I get that that's asking for oranges at a tomato farm, but still.

Long post made short: I'd sooner go back to playing SAO than Alfheim online, which looks dumber than most of the posts I make on this forum.

20 minutes just to explain a single fucking piece of terminology that was introduced at the end of the previous episode, interspersed with CG not-Valkyrie Fighters fighting clouds of CG bugs and CG battleships getting blown up by poorly-drawn giant monsters. Humanity is beyond doomed because apparently every last member of the military thinks firing automatic weapons into monstrous swarms of demon bugs is actually going to be the most efficacious way to eradicate them, and it takes some kind of ancient ethereal spirit goddess thing to state the obvious after everyone wonders why their bullets aren't hitting tiny moving targets:
USE FIRE
.

This logic is also shared by the main characters, and
it justly gets them totally slaughtered by some kind of Graboid thing with a naked zombie woman embedded in its head until Shu rescues their asses because they were conveniently swallowed whole...except for the grunt dude, because fuck him for being a grunt I guess
. The whole episode is fairly marvelous in just how unresourceful and incompetent the protagonists are until they get saved by Necrodiver hax. The cherry on top is that said ancient goddess thing straight-up tells Shu after the battle "you fucking sucked and I can't believe that you're humanity's last hope against these Yu-Gi-Oh! monster rejects." Shu is definitely an idiot, but exactly what kind of idiot he is remains to be seen.

There's actually one pretty amazing scene that I'd like to gif but I can't because it has bare titties: Shu, after rescuing Yuno, violently throws her into the air, spends about twenty seconds pumping rounds into a monster, and then catches Yuno on her descent. Yes, she was supposedly in the air for nearly half a minute. It's Glass Fleet-tier stuff.

P.S. anyone hyped for Kill-la-Kill should watch this. Sushio did the character designs!

So uh, saw a softcore porn video and the song Roundabout started playing. I was half expecting the woman in question start doing some Jojo poses. Didn't know whether to laugh, pose along, or fap. What do I do animegaf?

Burn everything, walk out of house backward, slowly, never look back, and never speak of it again.

But there is magic :p There'll be much better action scenes in the ALO arc, just so you know and have to look forward to.

Imouto Paradise: 10/10

Also finished S1 of SZS, great shit. Gonna watch the other 2 seasons some time in the near future. I'm a couple of episodes into Hyouka, really liking it though the mysteries are mundane the MC is awesome.

Kizumonogatari

Well that was surprisingly shounen, of course since it's Monogatari the best fight is just an absurdly violent conversation and I wouldn't have it any other way.

- Probably my second favorite vampire story after Thirst, may flip flop on this after more thought.
- Hanekawa fans need this in their veins right now.
- Shinobu/Kissshot-Acerolaorion-Heartunderblade fans, expect less haughtiness and more endearing.
- Collecting
limbs and organs
is easily my favorite plot coupon. It's not endless and they're delicious in oh so many ways.
- Owing eternal debts to everyone Araragi > King of lewd impulses Araragi
- Watching the opening scene to Bake 1 after reading this is glorious.
- So this definitely couldn't be aired but I'm not sure if a movie is the best way to go. I'm leaning towards break blade style OVA being a better fit but we'll see.
- I was afraid first encounters would be less interesting than the characters with history that the shows have but it works relatively well.
- why does every
sports equipment locker
scene have to be a host for lewd? It's like some kind of anime law.

Glad I got this out of the way though I wonder what the next monogataris will be like. With this being shounen, bake being an oddjobs friendship harem, and Nise being a panderfest (that's totally a genre) I'm up for anything. Murder mystery? Oddities romcom? Slice of life? Whatever I'll probably eat it up, bring it on summermonogatari.

This sounds like one of the greatest things ever.

Real talk: Kirito looks like a damn fool with that new hair style and those new ears. Not that he was exactly Mr. Cool Guy before, but I mean, they've hit like rock bottom with this.

Slayers TRY 9

Now you wanna talk about Mr. Cool Guy, talk about Gourry. He has a jelly fish brain! He only remembers critical plot information when it can make Lina's life WORSE. Man, I love Gourry. Also, XELLOS. Dude is the most adorable douchebag ever. Lina's all "Hey give us a hand, Xellos" and he's all "Uh, can't do that, because I can't have you thinking I'm gonna help when you ask, DEUCES." And then there's Zelgadis, who, in addition to being a (not so) heartless demon swordsman, is also sort of the most well educated member of the cast, what with having been raised by one of the Five Wise Men and all.

Also the monsters in this season are sort of coming off as heroic. From Xellos' not liking being called garbage to Valgaav's tragic backstory to whatever this beast dude's name is' past. It's like Light is a Jerk or something.

Revolutionary Girl Utena 7

Okay, so uh, this girl has the power to boss around the VP of the school? Is there a student council more absurdly powerful than this? Utena don't care, she gonna do some LUNGES. Bwahaha, Utena drinking game, guys: Every time Papillon gets bitch slapped by someone, take a shot. I mean, really.

Eggshells. Holy crap that's JUNKED UP. Poor Juri. Uuuuunless she was as scary back then as she is now. Cuz holy crap she's scary. The part where Utena is drawing the Sword of God from Papillon's breast is probably the coolest stock shot in the entire show.

So we have different forms of light, Lucifer, and Gods of Death and time. Kay, so Juri is a good person who wants to kill you. Got it. Also empty inside. BWAHAHAHAAH you gotta be kiddin' me. Man, just when I thought
Utena had lost, there comes the miracle.

The look on her face is classic.

Some bullshit about him getting an ultra-rare glitch that gives his avatar a female appearance.

This time it doesn't have anything to do with being based of Sword Art Online's architecture.

Peaceiscloser, you need to stop peddling your anime fan fiction on this site. I don't want you giving anybody any ideas.

Binbougami ga! 9-13 END

Well, it got a bit more standalone after a bit, but entered the whole deal of Momiji being clean, and Ichiko realizing that she needs crazy people to be at peace. Don't we all.

As for how well it did as an adaptation, it did pretty well actually. More than what I can say for some other ones like... Attack on Stillshots. No real filler or anything, and it made Nadeshiko more noticible. She was apparently in almost every chapter up until her real introduction, but she didn't "stick" out like she did here, probably because I became more aware, or there was a decision to make this more obvious. It never detracted from the anime though.

It's pretty over the top for what it is, considering breaking walls while jumping out into the air is the "norm" or at least it is for Ranmaru. Think I'll continue reading now from where I left off. And Jojo as well.

Horse Detective

Why the long case?
I kind of wish I didn't get into Attack on Titan. I think the characters and story are amazing, and the fact that it will only be like 26 episodes crushes me.

I could totally stick with this show for a long, long time.

This series sounds fun. I'm going to have to watch it after I'm done with Precure, aren't I? My Toei mahou shoujo journey will never end...

I'll pretend this is about the Alicization Arc

OMG YOU READ ALICIZATION?!

Alicisation arc FTW.

Not a glitch, just a part of the character appearance randomisation feature. The game includes androgynous avatars by design, they're just highly uncommon.

You can always read the manga.

And then despair at the fact that you have to wait a month for each chapter.

Not cool. Not cool.

Penguindrum was an incredible show.
Incredibly bad? We finally agree on something!

Kizu is best monogatari.

Maybe. I guess that would be cool, but definitely not as powerful as the show.

I might just get into some of the famed shows out there once this is done. The only other action anime that I have watched from the beginning is High School of the Dead, but that show is kind of *blegh* and has more comedic value.

I have never watched FMA, Bleach, or Deathnote from the beginning.

Stick to the right shows aka not Bleach and you should be good!

The few episodes I watched were pretty interesting, and had a "fuck the demographic" feel to the episodes. Granted, I overdosed too much on mahou shoujos so anything under that genre post Precure run is currently on hold.

Also Dokkan isn't done yet, lord knows how long that'll take.

It's pretty much the same feel as Sailor Moon, but in the sense that they learned what went right in Sailor Moon and applied those lessons to a different kind of show.

I was left unimpressed by the 3 episodes I watched of Doremi, it reminded me of MLP in that way, something that was entirely unoffensive but completely outside the area of my interests and likes.

Yeah.

The Sharp image that was posted.... a couple days ago was like a spark of reinterest. Might boot it back up soon. Was hoping to straight marathon it, but...

Gundam Unicorn 1

Can't decide if I like Banagher or not yet, but that's okay, 'cuz it took me awhile to warm up to Kamille, too. Audrey is sort of meh to me so far, although I did like her flat out "I don't need you." Also, not a huge fan of the Unicorn Gundam so far, but maybe that's cuz it doesn't look much like a Gundam. However, the music and animation are top notch, and even if I dislike CG mechs as a rule, that odd 4 winged Qubeley-type was a pretty nifty machine. Also: Teehee, Full Frontal.

You know, I have to admire the tenacity of the Zeon, if nothing else. They've lost every single war they've ever fought, had all their charismatic leaders utterly destroyed, had more than one of such leaders exposed as frauds of one nature or another, and yet here they are, like almost 30 years later, still trying and still plugging away.

It almost isn't quite a Gundam show if you don't
blow up a colony or wreck a town
in the first episode. Hey wait, is this a show about an ancient conspiracy, too? Oh snap!
Princess? Don't tell me Audrey is actually Mineva Zabi?! I mean the only non-Zabi royalty I remember from UC were Char and Sayla, and I don't think Audrey is young enough to be Zeon Deikun's granddaughter.

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG GUNDAM IS BACK FAITH RESTORED IN GUNDAM YES YES HWWWWWWWWWWWHOWHWOHOHOWOOOOOOOOO!O!!!!!!
