The orginal VA is also hilariously bad,so what's the difference?

It's weird since we have either very bad dubs (Blue Dragon is another good example) or very good ones, with important and famous dubbers (as Jak & Daxter). I always prefer to have the choice.

Maybe neutral Mexican spanish. Just has a wrong name.

You're right, but now, I'm talking about the DUB job, I mean, not the 'normal' people accent lol

Yes, I'm from Mexico, but let's face it, the Mexican spanish dub (again, I'm talking about the dub only) it's -frequently- the most neutral one for Latin America.

Don't get me wrong, It's not that I don't like dubs from other countries, for example:

The Pucca cartoon was dubbed in Argentina, and IMO that is a very good dub, I mean, I didn't know it was from there until I googled it, the accent is barely noticeable.

There are other anime and cartoons that I like a lot the dub (from other countries), like SpongeBob, Full Metal Alchemist (dubs from Venezuela), the old Garfield cartoon, Avatar (The Last Airbender) (from Chile), and many others, it's only matter of keeping a neutral accent, that's all.

The games are going to sell over ALL Latin America countries, and it's crucial to find a neutral accent, no matter from what countries are the dubbers from. It's just, like some user said, NOA isn't doing a good job researching on voice actors, simply as that.

It's definitely a redub. I guess they didn't have the original files in an acceptable quality anymore ...
It sounds really similar to the original, but you can tell at many spots the tone has changed slightly. Script seems to be the same.
Don't have time now to find some comparison videos, will do later!

Sure. I'm just, well, doubtful given that

1) It would require NOA/NCL to get the original voice actors back (something they didn't bother doing for Starfox Adventures, Melee, Brawl, Starfox Command...)

2) Every clip I'm hearing sounds identical to the original game.

Here are some comparisons:

New
Old
You'll imediately notice Peppy's voice sounding slightly different. Also old Slippy's "Whoa!" rhymes with "now", while new Slippy's "Whoah" rhymes more with "low"

New
Old
Old Falco's "This is horrible!" sounds shocked, new Falco just says it (the delivery is flat)

If you think about it, they pretty much HAD TO re-record the voices, because in the original, there were two instances where characters referenced specific buttons on the controller, which the 3DS doesn't have or doesn't use with that functionality.

"To barrel roll, press Z or R twice!". Peppy named the buttons, but the 3DS doesn't have a Z button
"Hold A to charge your laser." Although I didn't play the game yet, I'm pretty sure A won't be the Laser button anymore (most likely B or Y, guessing from the Button layout and comparing it to the N64 controller).

Overall, the new English dub sounds almost exactly like the original ... which begs the question why they couldn't use the original cast for Starfox Assault (voice acting was soooo bad.)

Hmm. Okay, this is more and more puzzling... I wonder what the odds are of it just being "sound alikes"? Although I can't see them going to THAT effort.

This is odd.

Based on what can be heard from the clips above, the italian dub doesn't sound too bad. I'm pleasantly surprised.

(I can't wait to relive this classic, by the way)

It'd be awsome if it was also in latin american portuguese. Sony is doing this a lot with hers first party titles.

It's possible. Brazil is one of the few Latin America regions which have its own eShop, after all.

Nothing will be bad as the original Italian dub of Metal Gear Solid.

It made the game almost unplayable.

Yeah, the Latin American dub is really bad. No emotion whatsoever.

I hope the game has an in-game option to change the audio. It'll suck if I'm forced to do it through the 3DS Config menu (like with almost every multi-language Nintendo game so far).

Is not that bad... comparala con la version de España... that one sucks! But again, the Spaniard language sucks in general.

Doesnt sound too bad it seems.
Wasnt Inazuma Eleven's game dub also good in Italy?
Seems spain and italy have been saved from the horrible dubs again.

Best non-Mexican Spanish dub ever!

I won't bet my life on it, but If I remember properly, in one TV program about Garfield (the comic), all the different dubs done for the different languages where Garfield (TV show) was shown were demonstrated to Jim Davis, and he said the most fitting voice for him was the Spanish Latin dub (Chilean, If I am not wrong)

SPR, that's a barrier you Spaniards and us Latinos can not overcome successfully. Once you are used to your own style of dubs it is really hard to accept another different one.

Strange :( did you slide cover around, maybe they're not aligning with the plastic or something.

Also Sin & Punishment 2 and Xenoblade have reversable boxarts

Ive find castillian spanish, latin american spanish and french dubs.
That's awesome. I hate how almost every single game that has a Spanish dub it's almost guaranteed to be 'Castillian Spanish' (I remember Batman Arkham Asylum to be particularly hilarious). It sounds completely different than what anyone outside of Spain actually speaks, and very few games have the option of having the original language and Spanish subtitles.

Castillian puts latinamerican dub in total shame.

And it's not really that good, if at all.

kyubajin said:
Spanish dubbing is just horrendous (with very very few exceptions), I sincerely can't stand it at all. I have to purchase all my games from the UK just to secure English language.

Yeah, same. Dubs here royally suck. And I HATE it when a game is only in Spanish. -_-

I thought the rupees were in the exclusive GAME case. I could be wrong though.

It's the same actors. It sounds pretty close.
I don't think so. I've played the original version so many times that the original performances are burned in my brain. All of the new performances sound off by comparison.

Yep and they're definitely not there...

...Ahh that would explain it.
It's such a minor thing, but every time I open the Nintendogs case with all the inner pictures it's always a nice surprise

From some rumors ive heard it seems Alfonso Valles (a very famous spanish voice actor that did for example Snakes voice in Metal gear Solid for PSX, and all people here love) seems to be doing Wolf O Donell's voice. If that is true I could cream my pants.

You're rumors were pretty spot-on :P Vallés is a nice choice for Wolf. He'll be the narrator, too.
