Edit: And is there a way to fix this text size? Its really annoying![]()
burgerdog said:Loading is excellent off the HD and I would imagine that playing off the disc is nearly as good. When you touch an enemy you go into battle instantly, no LO horror stories here.
burgerdog said:Played the game for three hours, it's damn great. It took me about one hour to make it to the first planet and after that it was all gameplay for a good two hours. Keep in mind I like to kill a ton of enemies to level up so others may spend far less time doing some of the content. I'm really digging it so far, god, the combat in this game kicks the crap out of Infinite Undiscovery(seems a lot better than vesperia demo.) Speaking of combat, you could definitely notice the res when you're in battle, but it's not bad at all, it looks 10 times worse in screenshots than when you're playing it on your tv.
Story and VO isn't that great so far and I'm not sure it'll improve over time. The exploration, combat, and IC are the elements in this game that are going to keep people playing. Once I had control of a party of three I just didn't want to stop playing. When I finally decided to head back to the ship I went to the shops and looked at the items and accepted a few quests. I'll probably do them before continuing with the story and level up my characters a bit more, this game is going to last me a long time.
There seems to be an issue when you exit the battle screen. The game dips in framerate for about one second and then goes back to normal. It just looks weird, but since it's so brief it doesn't bother me much at all. I'm playing off the HD so I'm not sure if that's causing the problem. Loading is excellent off the HD and I would imagine that playing off the disc is nearly as good. When you touch an enemy you go into battle instantly, no LO horror stories here.
Back to playing, combat is addictive as fuck.
Rpgmonkey said:By dip in framerate do you mean right when the last enemy is killed?
If so, that was intentional I think, SO3 does it too. I find it more annoying than a cool effect really.
If you mean some other point, no idea.

I always get strats with my RPGs, especially JRPGs. I can't wait to go out and pick this up later today.Dr. Acid Avatar said:Kinda wishing I got the strat guide with this game now, fuck. I just know I'm gonna overlook a ton of shit.

MotherFan said:Didn't have it at the gamestops in my area but Best Buy had it. Pretty good so far but wtf is up with the text size? Way to small imo.
Synless said:Why do they have to put a kid character in every JRPG, I fucking hate them, they always suck ass with the voice acting and character development and are completely pointless in my eyes. This one may be the worst I've come across so far in terms of VA.
There are two of them? Fuck.....I put myself on blackout on this game so I wouldn't spoil anything, that's why I didn't know about it. Secondly Just because it's a common concept doesn't mean it's a good one so I think worthy enough to bitch about.Jinko said:Why do people always moan about this, its not like its a new concept to JRPG's and we have known about the 2 of them for a while now.

Yeah, that thing was almost Oblivion thickness.Error said:Got it!
been playing for awhile, detailed impressions... soon. Not now.
btw the strategy guide is a monster. From what I saw it's easily 300+ pages...
burgerdog said:Haha, don't kid yourself. They probably only had like three copies :lol
Would be awesome if they somehow sold more than 15, though.
Coverly said:called gamestop and they told me that they didn't have this game yet in any gamestop in los angeles. Is this bs or not?
No, it shipped yesterday.BlueTsunami said:I believe it shipped Today and will be in Tomorrow. Some stores get their shipments and put it out immediately, others don't get it till later in the day and won't have it out till the next day.
I really think the resolution drop in the battles is far more annoying then any framerate issues I've come across, but it does move very fluidly......so it's 50/50 with me.LiquidMetal14 said:Visuals are nice. Framerate takes a considerable hit at times in the first planet area. I hope the rest of the game isn't like because it is noticable and I hardly care for framerates. Story is interesting enough so far but not into the meat of the story yet. Synless was right about that annoying girl character, out of place and forced. Liking the feel of the game outside of the framerate hitches

Than that Gamestop sucks!
You can do that? Hell yea!!!Error said:if Lymle's voice bothers you a lot you can turn her voice off for battles.

Why is Square-Enix so inconsistent by releasing a wide array of different games for a wide array of consoles?
I miss the PSX days... If you owned the PSX, you pretty much owned THE console for JRPGs
ajfoucault said:If only Square-Enix sided with just one band... like they did on the 5th generation (when they sided with Sony and its PlayStation)... I could just buy one console... but now, they force us to own a PSP (Crisis Core, FF Tactics, Dissidia... ) a Nintendo DS (Final Fantasy III, Chrono Trigger), a PS3 (Final Fantasy XIII) and an Xbox 360 (Star Ocean 4...) U__U
Wait so you're bitching about Square Enix being on too many different systems but the only system you bought is the one Square Enix hasn't made any games for this generation?ajfoucault said:I hope they release a Director's Cut version for my beloved PS3 sometime this year, or even next year (I'll be willing to wait).

Every JRPG should have this option.john tv said:Yep -- individual per character, and then there's a separate setting for enemies (on or off).

Man, I don't wanna stop playing TLR but it's just not growing on me, and this game looks so amazing.
