Star Ocean: The Last Hope Official thread

personally not interested in SO4, but i hope it sells a ton in japan and capture/create a rpg HD crowd so more games may follow. What are the LTD sales of the 360 version in japan ?

I know this is just a thoughtful dream, but I'm hoping for a resolution bump for the battles.

I agree. Sure it wasn't the best thing either. Btu I enjoyed it.
That's why I'll be getting the Ps3 version too.

How often does a Gamefly leak turn out to be wrong? They are probably one of the more acurate sources when it comes to leaks.

I'm sure Tri Ace had to add some things to the PS3 version in order to appease ps3 owners for getting a year old + port

Somehow I doubt it will be good voice acting, decent cutscenes and a sane story.

Fuck I'll probably still buy it, though. I've beaten all the other ones a few times.
 
Got a question guys ..

are the "character endings" scenes that play with the ending of the main game, or are they scenes that i can trigger before finishing up the final dungeon ? because i have 3 funeral bouquet's and i don't intend to back track or disc swap grind my way to make them for everyone, i was wondering if i could just utilize the three, view endings, then reload old saves to view other people's endings ..

?

They're shown after the ending, so you can't do that unless you use them and beat the boss, and reload an older save to use them with other people and beat the boss again, but I think this would be even worse than disc-swapping because I think the final dungeon didn't have a warp point until you finish the game :lol Keep in mind that it's possible to get some scenes without using them, but you probably can't since you need to be very careful activating every PA and answering correctly.

since those three had the least PA opportunities.

i will definitely buy it if the U.S. version has japan audio with english subtitles since i can't tell if the voice acting is bad or not in a foreign language

They're very rarely wrong. They're one of the most reliable sources for leaks.

Even if it doesn't come to America, which it will, the game has multiple languages for the text.

English and Japanese voices. English, Japanese, Italian, French, German, and Spanish text options.
 
It's a little too late now that I'm an xbox 360 owner with SO4 too :3 But the complaints of the 360 version sound pretty annoying with the disc swapping everytime you want to return for a quest. I might trade it for the ps3 version...

Since I'm very sure
Crowe
is going to be playable in this despite his fate, I'm betting they'll take the "cheap" route and do the same thing with the new character(s) that they did with Faize/Arumat, and they won't appear outside of battle and scenes they were already in.

Add one or two new FMVs, maybe a new planet (that's possibly sidequest-related only, with some bosses), and make sure the port isn't completely terrible on a technical level, and their job is done.

You might as well trade it in now for a gift card while it has some value left. When PS3 version drops it's going to be worth shit.

what does the 360 version of SO4 have anything to do with PS3 version?

I can understand if a 360 version of international came out then yes, it would be worth shit

Exactly. Now PS3 owners won't be basing the game off two Private Actions. The game has horrible cutscenes, but nothing as bad as the two that get posted all the time. They'll also get posted less now that they ones who post them will have the game on their system of choice ;)

Anyway, SO4 was decent, but not good enough for double dipping by any means imo. I can see why those who love the post-game content would want to get it again just so they don't need to go through with the worst disc swapping implementation this generation.
