Star vs. the Forces of Evil |OT| I'm From Another Dimension

It's been confirmed that both Season 3 and 4 will clock in at 21 episodes each.
Or 42 per season if every 22-minute episode is spliced into two 11-minute episodes as they so often are.
EDIT: Not sure how many minutes of animation the movie will take up: could be 44 minutes (11 minutes x 4 + commercials = about an hour) or 88-minutes (22 minutes x 4 + commercials = 2 hours!) which... isn't very likely. The first 4 episodes of S3 will probably be 11-minutes long each.

Yeah, other than the tidbits about what the next season will be up to, the new opening is pretty boring compared to the old one. I mean, when the song goes, "Woo-hoo," they're still just running straight from left to right with nothing special going on. In fact, a lot of it is just going from left to right. Plus, while there's probably meaning in Star making a kinder face to possessed Ludo, that doesn't excuse the undynamic pose she makes when blasting him.

A special two-hour "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" TV movie event will premiere SATURDAY, JULY 15 (11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. EDT), on Disney XD

That's from the announcement. If there's no preshow (which admittedly is pretty unlikely) it'll indeed be 88 minutes. If it does have a preshow however, one possible scenario could be that 1 & 2 are full-length while 3 & 4 are half-length, making for a total of around 66 minutes. Add in a preshow and commercials and hey presto, it's a two-hour "movie event".

That's a surprsing amount of time dedicated to a flashback story. Seems like there's going to be a lot to Moon's story.

It's actually Barko Diaz, we first heard Marco calling one of the puppies that in the Live Feeds they were doing during Starbruary.
 
I was hoping that the series was going to divert from the usual romance routine between lead characters, but they were just setting the stage for Marco and Star.
 
So they're just going to drip feed us this stuff, huh.

Moon's still in her warrior garb and Star seems a little worse for wear. Have they been on the run all this time?

Unfortunately, there's no way to be sure these aren't just reruns of the 'Battle For Mewni' movie that will air on the 15th with the first two individual episodes with their original titles taking precedence, rather than new episodes that follow after actually thanks to Zap2it I'm pretty much convinced they are just reruns of the movie episodes.

Also this July 15th promo has a brief extra scene that wasn't shown in the other ones
 
I've been wondering something. Tom is a demon. But does that mean he's a monster?

I ask this cause the show is currently foreshadowing Star becoming more and more like Queen Eclipsa. Eclipsa's biggest crime known so far was that she loved a monster.

Seems like Star already kind of did that and got over it.
 
Gah, I come back from work to this? Don't know what happened, the links were correct but the videos were taken down only to be uploaded again. Well, for what it's worth I replaced the broken links and added another mirror since Disney XD's youtube channel tends to bar international viewers.
 
Huh, we see Star watching Marco looking sad while she has one of his hoodies. Looks like she took a souvenir when she left Earth in order to have a piece of Marco with her.
 
Some things:

Disney XD sizzle reel (link here) introducing the summer line-up of new and returning shows including some new but brief scenes from the Battle for Mewni event. Nothing too spoilery there.

Also, apparently they're going to be handing out some exclusive Star Vs. posters at Comic-Con. I'd embed it but eagle-eyed observers will notice the new artwork apparently spoils something major. So here's a link to the blog post with the pic instead: link

Star appears
to be wielding a new wand. Granted it's hidden behind a bright pink glow but it's enough to convince people it's been cleaved back together and taken on a new shape in that pic. Which implies a lot about what will happen in Season 3 or even just the Battle for Mewni episodes.
But we can't be 100% sure about any of that unless we get a better view. Could be nothing.

Finished reading that guide book and man there is some interesting information in there along with the silly stuff.

Along with info like Janna's lastname i didn't know Glossaryck created the members of the council (bar Moon). Also we get a bit of info on Toffee with his lastname and relation to Rasticore (although the name might just be a species of monster) and plus a mention of a Mewman/Monster Accord. Plus Pony Head's siblings LOL

They mention the big spoiler that was already brought up in one of the promos so don't read if you've been avoiding spoilers so far. There's also a preview clip from the episode Moon the Undaunted included at the end. Only a little spoilery if you don't want to know how the episode plays out. At this point you might as well just wait and watch the whole thing tomorrow.
