Which iconic Star Wars hero are you anticipating most?

Man, I hope Dice isn't as creatively bankrupt as the people immediately writing off R2D2 as a hero. That could actually be really cool and different.
Exactly. I can very easily imagine how he would work. He can fly like Boba Fett. Has a one hit kill short range electric attack. His specials are emitting smoke, radar sense, and a flamethrower. For added kicks, they can give him a C-3PO spawn that does nothing but complain and die.

Damn, probably not going to get a Dagobah map. The limited scope of this game is pretty weird. It's a fun game, but a real cock tease.

Do you feel the same way about every multiplayer game with DLC? If not you are being a hypocrite. They've released/will release 5 free maps (2 small, 3 large) by the time the March patch comes. I think that makes up for the lack of large maps at launch just fine.

Nonsense. The game launch with barely a handful of large maps, the rest of the maps for the smaller game types are just derivatives of the same males. Should have launched with at least 10 large maps.
There's also a lack of weapons and gameplay variety. The game gets repetitive fast.

That's just false

Lol it sounds more like you just want to hate for the sake of it.

Maybe you should create a new game from the ground up in just 2 years.. i dont think its that easy ;)

The game has a good variety of Content now. More to come this month.

Not false at all. In the best case scenario, they've reused assets. They certainly don't feel like brand new maps. You're still on the same 5 planets. It all feels very samey.

It's a great starting point, I just feel really short changed. My experience and feelings are quite common.

The game will have 7 base Large maps with the month's patch. The game also has 16 small maps, the only one being a derivative of a large map being the new Hoth map, Twilight, which was an unexpected bonus.

How is there a lack of weapons and gameplay variety? What does the latter even mean here?

Hahahaha. Come on. Hahahaha.

You hear that all you unique other online FPS/TPS shooters and your no need to re-use assets?

Keep being the unique you, on planet Earth, in Urban Warfare more often than not. <straight face>

theres been a strange focus on Nien Nunb since the new canon launch. He has been in quite a few of the new books

Does anyone know if this is adding new achievements, and if so what they are?

They are focused on him, not only from the new books, but he will play an important role in Rogue One. Disney/LucasArts wants to flesh out not just the main characters, but the supporting ones as well.

No word on trophies, but did BF4 add them to their packs? If so, that could be the answer. More info is coming over the next couple of weeks. This is only the initial info, they will drip-feed more soon.

Yes please! lol

EA you fool me one last time. Bought the season pass. I made a huge mistake.

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Outer Rim (March 2016) - Fight among the factories of Sullust and battle within Jabba the Hutt's palace on Tatooine. NOPE

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Bespin (Summer 2016) - It's hunt or be hunted in this action-packed experience set in the Cloud City of Bespin. Ok, this have to go with Lando

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Death Star (Fall 2016) – That’s no moon! One of the most iconic locations in the Star Wars universe makes its debut in Star Wars Battlefront. Obi-wan?

Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Expansion Pack 4 – Title TBA (Early 2017) – We will have more details to share about this exciting new expansion pack in the coming months. F you EA

The whole "shot first" phrase thing bothers me. Screw you fake nerddom for popularising that inaccuracy.

Explain, please. It is not you, it is me. I am confused by the second part.

I am more than positive it is not EA, but due to the fact that it is rumored to be tied into Rogue One content for the last pack.

99% sure this is why we are getting Nub Nub.

And you would probably be 93% wrong.

Or is this a stealthy clever way of saying, "lazy devs"?

I don't even... wow. So Call of Duty and Battlefield must be even worse for you since it's all on the same planet.

Anyhoo... for the next DLCs, I'll take any of the below.

And the "Hunt or be Hunted" theme seems Bounty Hunter focused.

I can see Chewie and Bossk, and Han removed for Lando as a bonus.

Or no Chewie at all, and we am cry!

Greedo and Nien Nunb are iconic heroes? Greedo is only known because he dies and Nien Nunb is only known because of his weird-ass laugh. Why even go for Nunb when you could go for Calrissian?

Also, Sullust? They're really stretching thr meaning of "iconic".

The heroes are the price you pay for sticking to the OT like it's the only good thing that came out of Star Wars. It might be too soon for a full fledged Sequel Era Battlefront, but people do like the Prequel Era even if they think the movies aren't that great. The TV show is widely popular as well.

Star Wars Battlefront: The Clone Wars
Tattoine -> Geonosis
Endor -> Kashyyk
Sullust -> Mustafar
Hoth -> Rhen Var

Heroes: Obi-wan, Anakin, Mace Windu
Villains: Dooku, Grevious, Jango Fett

And then so many weapons and customizations potentially. And for DLC, you have tons of locations and heroes and can pull from the show and get heroes and villains like Rex, Ahsoka, Asajj, and go to places like Umbara.

They re-using the skins as heroes, watch the next DLC bring the Twlek dancer and that other ugly mofo from the cantina as heroes.

This post pretty much nails it.

I think the worst thing about this is that DICE said only 4 new heroes were going to be included in the season pass and if you figure Lando is coming with Bespin and Chewie with the Death Star, that means no Obi-Wan, Tarkin or anyone else. Nien Nunb on the other hand is a massively dumb inclusion. Dude is in ROTJ for like 5 minutes. I'd much rather have R2D2 or C3PO as heroes. How would they work on a map? I haven't a freaking clue, but at least they're cool choices.

I think I'll keep my money and just change my Rebels/Empire trooper head to a Rodian/Sullustan one so I can play as a "hero" all the time. What a missed opportunity. Who the hell at DICE is making these decisions?

They also said no death star maps, and only started using the word heroes instead of hero when it came to the DLC packs.

Plans change. There's certainly gonna be more than 2 heroes over the next 3 packs.

Well there is going to be a Bespin pack. Also, Disney is pushing Nien hard. He has a few big appearances in the new canon books, is in TFA, and is rumored to be a big role on Rogue One.

I like Greedo's design but that's about it.

Empire - Rancor (for fun), Darth Maul (supposedly still alive), Imperial probe Droid.

Rebels - Ackbar (sets and escapes traps), Chewbacca (obvious), droid (you can swap between R2D2 (fuck BB-8 [j/k]) and C3PO to really troll people with his gimped highly niche skills.

Agreed on all counts. The Prequel Trilogy is shit, but era itself is aesthetically rich. So much to dig into for this kind of game.

I feel like they're stretching the definition of iconic here.

By which I mean they've got the poor word hooked up to some Spanish Inquisition torture rack.

I wish call of duty games had more than one map. It's all on that one planet!

multiple maps in the same environment does not make them the same map. Unlike battlefield, the small maps are not cut off sections of the big ones either. You might have a sand crawler on the big tatooine map, but the small one with a sand crawler takes place on a Cliffside in a jawa dwelling, while the second small one takes place out in the sand desert around a cargo ship, while the third small map takes place in a circular map around a single hangar port, while the fourth small map takes place in rocky cliff covered terrain. The big map does incorporate some of there elements sure. Multiple call of duty maps also incorporate houses, but the map layout and location on the planet is completely different from the others, and the misinformation about this must be frustrating for the level designers whose work are being ignored.

Honestly if they couldn't think of characters worthy of a DLC they couldn't at worst add the Rebels characters as they fit that era?

Lando vs Tarkin
Sabine vs Bossk or Agent Callus
Ezra or Kanan vs Grand Inquisitor
Ahsoka vs 7th Sister

Meanwhile, no less than three people on my Facebook today have decided to buy a season pass to play as Nien Nunb.

Star Wars fans love that motherfucker.
