Star Wars Outlaws |OT| Robbin' Hutts

Fantastic game, easily one of my favourite Star Wars titles. Just enough filler around the main quests to keep the game flowing.

Kessel Sabaac, what a game! They need to bring out a stand alone version.

Just finished and I think this is my GOTY for last year. I've been wanting an open world RPG that pulled me in and this did the trick for me. I think the mix of the characters, plot and it being dressed up in Star Wars aesthetics went a long way for me. It probably helped a lot that I waited until a lot of patches came out but I wouldn't have known otherwise. Excited for the next DLC too.

Now to find something similar to fill the void.

It may sound weird, but go play the first Watch_Dogs

Played the demo for about 10mns and the aesthetics and graphics were hitting just the right notes for me, so I am heavily inclined towards buying it. What say GAF, worth 30USD?

My most preferred Ubisoft game of this generation. If only AC Shadows open world was designed like this...

It's pretty good.

Nowhere near as bad as some of the reviews made out. Has a genuine Star Wars vibe. Just a pity the gameplay is so simplistic.

A Pirate's Fortune DLC is now available and they've updated the game again. Here's the patch notes but be careful because there are story spoilers in the patch notes:

I think the ability to holster and swap between two handed weapons and Kay's blaster is a welcome improvement which should have been in the game at launch

This is legit game changing. One of the dumbest things about the game from day one was incorporating that slow meter build up to be finally able to fire your blaster. Now you'll be able to just pick dudes off at will. Holy shit finally.

ya man, dunno if u bought or not but for me..i was one of the haters when it came out..then i gave it a shot 3 months later and if you stick with it for the first few hours the game clicks and it just turns into this very good star wars game.

For me it's the best most fully realized Star Wars world since KOTOR. I was fucking HOOKED from beginning to end. If you're an OG trilogy fan, it hits so many right notes.

I did end up buying it. Havent played much though. Been busy and whatever little gaming time I get I am spending in trying to finish FF Rebirth. Looking forward to playing it.

Is the demo a vertical slice or how the game actually begins? I was honestly not very impressed with anything in it with some parts being outright janky like how my character felt utterly helpless when confronted with a slight incline my grandmother could have climbed. The map also felt very constrained.

If the demo is the prologue, it's supposed to be a bit constrained. Things open up once you get past the intro.

Fuck I think it's sucking me back in. I didn't know there was a 60fps quality mode. Is this Pro only? It looks sick on the OLED.

Man dude if only it initially released with all of these tweaks and upgrades. I don't think it would've sold gangbusters, but it sure as hell would've been received a bit better.

But I liked that :/

How is the game if you like Star Wars and hate Assassins Creed?
It has the best Star Wars "vibe" and atmosphere of any SW video game I've ever played. Like no bullshit, art direction & sound design are 10/10.

It doesn't really play like AC at all, it's more like Uncharted (3rd person action, some stealth, some bang bang, some light puzzles) from a gameplay perspective.

The map structure is more like Far Cry (central town with vendors & quest givers, in the open world are roving patrols, outposts you can beat/loot for rewards & upgrades, vehicles)

I really enjoy it, and IMO its biggest problem is it doesn't commit to being a 9/10 or 10/10 at one or two things, instead it ends up being 7/10 at like 5 different things.

It's other big problem is it was made by Massive so everyone thought it was going to be Star Wars Division. It definitely isn't.

A lot of Tomb Raider reboot trilogy and Watch Dogs 1 as well

Im continually impressed with this game. It may not have the best gameplay and story hook but it's an ambitious open world that does a lot of things pretty well. The visuals are amazing, has really high production values and the whole double dealing rogue adventure is done really well.

Eh to be fair, game has been polished a lot by Ubi via patch even the gameplay mechanics. It was a quite in a rough spot at launch. Maybe reviews weren't wrong at all at the time. Personally I think is the best free roam of Ubisoft of this generation especially after the AC Shadows disappointment 😞

None of the changes have anything to do with the star wars vibe/atmosphere as Ogbert mentioned, it's been extremely strong in that department since day 1.
They made stealth more lenient, because people get getting caught for some reason, and they changed the heavy weapon behaviour, that's pretty much it; the most recent patch a few days ago iterates on that a bit more.

Still game at launch was quite bugged and some mechanics extremely rigid I don't blame who reviewed it at the time. A stupid example: you couldn't shot on the motobike until the last update which frankly was quite annoying meanwhile the enemies followed you shooting from everywhere.

It's by far my fav, and I think the best feeling and most fun Ubifest this gen. The fact it taps so well into the coolest period in Star Wars is just extra icing.

They couldn't get me on Avatar, Mirage, FC6 or Valhalla but fuck me do they drain my nuts with this.
