I dislike TPM as much as next guy.

But... Pod Race.

Ok, it gave us Episode I Racer for N64 which was a baller game. But still, this movie is offensively boring on all fronts. It's amazing that Lucas had incredible actors like McGregor, Neeson, Jackson etc. and completely wasted all of them (except McDiarmid which made the wise choice of going all out ham).

I can't believe people don't have TPM as the worst movie. Have you seen that movie? At least AOTC had some so-so action scenes. TPM had nothing NOTHING. Watch this movie knowing that it was supposed to be the biggest movie event of all time during its release and it's mindblowing how that film turned out.

TPM while feeling detached, was actually not awful. The other two prequels were just bad and keep aging horribly. TPM at least had lot more practical effects and used mostly real sets and locations. AOTC and ROTS are almost entirely green screened clusterfucks.

remove harrison ford form the original 3 and you've basically got the prequels

No. The originals had real sets, locations. They felt like actual films. With or without Harrison Ford. And the saber fights in the prequels were just over the top crazy nonsense fights. Vader vs. Luke in both Empire and Jedi blew all the prequel fights out of the water in terms of drama and tension.

1. Return of the Jedi Special Edition (loved the new ending scene with the new music)
2. Return of the Jedi Original
3. Empire Strikes Back
4. A New Hope
5. The Clone Wars 2D
6. The Clone Wars 3D
7. Rebels
8. Revenge of the Sith
9. Attack of the Clones
10. The Phantom Menace
11. Star Wars Christmas Special

I might seem to be calm right now but I am in reality hyped. I can't even concentrate on smash bros anymore.

I mean, what if, what if

I posted a disney/star wars reference?

I still like Darth Maul. I kinda wish he was the villian for all three prequels. Also Duel of Fates is the best thing the Prequels Offered

I like that idea, but the prequels needed a han solo type character. Non of the prequels had any character charm or whit, which the original 3 had due to harrison fords performance. Instead we were subjected to some of the most wooden acting i've seen, it was positively teaky

Why did you break out the SE for Jedi when it doesn't change your ranking at all but don't break it out for the rest? lol.

I got to say of the SE's I like Jedi's the worst. The new Jabba palace song was...awful.

I don't know. I feel the one thing Phantom did right was the saber scene.

AOTC used Duel when Anakin went to chop up women and children.

Those poor Sand Raiders :(

Star Wars prequels really needed a Han Solo/Lando character. It needs that western gunslinger to ground the space fantasy especially since the Jedi are practically alien monks. We need that everyman to mix up the politics in space: Kirk from Star Trek, Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy, Mal in Firefly/Serenity, etc...

Pod race, Liam Neeson, Darth Maul and Duel of the Fates overshadow one so-so action scene in AOTC. And as bad as the script in TPM was, it didn't have the hideous love scenes.

ESB > ANH > ROTJ >>>>>> ROTS > TPM >>> AOTC

I liked Across the Stars and Ewan McGregor's performance in AOTC. The only redeeming features.

Plus before the movie came out, the hype for TPM was amazing to experience. STAR WARS EVERYWHERE.

The new Jabba palace song was...awful.

Well, I agree wholeheartedly there, but I hated that jubjub song, it pulled me out of the movie every time because it sounds exactly like the Sesame Street theme song, while I loved the new song they put over the ending, it was a true new Star-Warsian song and I thought it fit perfectly.

We need that everyman to mix up the politics in space
JarJar fits as an everyman...

What it really needed were just characters with personality. The everyman Han Solo/Lando character is just usually the easy way to do it.

Most practical elements, dat Neesons, podrace, Darth Maul fight, but most importantly No Hayden Christensen.

It only ranks higher for being least awful amongst the prequels.

Phantom Menace, I agree. The second two is mostly what I am talking about. Yoda leaping around like a maniac frog...and this, what the hell?

Much better:

Yoda was to short to fight like a normal dude so they had to give him a way to fight, and Obi wan is trying to find a opening but ankian is showing him that he is better .

The CGI series. I liked Gendy's too, but it's not really Star Wars.

Nah. Ewoks gave us Yub Nub, the greatest thing to happen to the series.

Then they went and ruined it with the rerelease. Prequels be damned, that Celebration song is the worst thing ever.
The new Victory Celebration music is objectively better than the original piece. It's a brilliantly catchy yet tender and emotional theme still filled with Ewokisms but has more substance to it, a mournful seriousness but a lightness too. It snugly complements the epic ending scene.

The original was more like source music, what you'd actually hear if you were there, but in the scheme of things the occasion demanded something grander.

I never did rationalize my knocks against ESB, but the biggest thing for me was the lack of a big space battle which is Star Wars to me. Battle of Endor is easily my favorite space battle of the 6 films, the second is probably Battle of Coruscant in ROTS. Despite it being CG and whatnot, I liked the cinematography, and it was a great opening sequence.

Hell. I remember doing nothing but replaying Battle of Endor in Rogue Leader over and over, I love it so much.

You could just pick any other moment of that fight and it would match the bottom gif.

What you mean is it needed a character that was relatable. There was no relatable character in the prequels; more or less there was no protagonist.
