SW fans shut the fuck up when the movie starts. They cheer and laugh loudly, but they get right back to shutting up very quickly.

I've been to a LOT of opening events

Probably the last 6, including R1

That's going to be the nice thing about the fan event, the price will gate things to only the major, major Star Wars fans.

Ah dammit Cineplex only just now put up my screening as 3D after I already purchased the non-refundable ticket. WHY

That's how they do.

Wait. Waaaaait. So, when "tickets go on sale," we're not talking about regular 2D screenings, we're talking about stuff like 3D IMAX? Will I be able to buy tickets for regular 2d screenings when tickets go on sale?

They've been pretty good about having all versions and showtimes up right when everyone else does for TFA and Rogue One, from what I'm remembering. I remember Landmark had them up immediately, and Cineplex was not much longer afterward. But that might be just for my region, maybe other areas are super slow!

Right now Cineplex only has 3D, 4DX on sale when you know that 80% of their theaters are going to be showing Star Wars.

Mine just said "Cinemark XD" which means 2D.

I would guess they all are unless otherwise marked. Disney knows the people paying an extra $20+ to see the movie an hour early on Thursday don't wanna see it in stupid 3D. lol

I hope you are correct!

My theater loves to only offer 3D screenings for opening night and early showings. Got tickets anyway - we saw Rogue One in 3D last year and although it wasn't my preference it was fine. I'm happy to see it opening night in whatever format and then see it again in 2D with the wife later.

Got tickets for the fan event at 6 on Thursday. Just got tickets for 7:25am and 11:45am on Friday. Might use my MoviePass to see it a third time on Friday, depending on how much I like it.

I bet it's small popcorn in a star wars bag you don't want to bring home. Maybe a poster which is YMMV on quality. I've had some really nice ones on card stock 12x18 I think, shit ones in the same size, and 27x40 ones as well.

I don't remember if they did that for BvS. I know they had cups and cup lids for that, which I think you had to pay for anyway lol.

I've seen theaters list trading cards and a collectors popcorn "tin", and 10 minutes of bonus content shown. But yeah, not a whole lot to go on for a $30 event

Got 10:30AM tickets for Friday. The ticket is half priced and the crowd is better so count me in. But night time movie has different vibes so I am a bit torn.

I was actually trying for that place but ended up picking West Valley because they were the only ones close that were available.
I was going for IMAX 3D since I couldn't find any 2D IMAX showings. The one that I'm reserved for still has some seats left. But again, it's at almost 11 at night. Would have vastly preferred 7PM or something.

I exaggerate of course.

I just haven't been that fond of wild theater crowds these days.

I saw Episode III at midnight and The Force Awakens at the earliest showing. Neither was rowdy. In fact, both were rather subdued. I was kinda disappointed.

Bah, got my tickets for Cineplex for IMAX but my there is stuffing 3D down everyone's throat for Thursday and Friday, only one IMAX showing per day that isn't 3D and it is at 3:40.

Grabbed 4 tickets for Saturday, IMAX non-3D.

FUCK IT

There are "Star Wars: The Last Jedi Opening Night Fan Event" tickets and it looks like it isn't 3D. Fuck it, double dipping, will see it twice, lol.

Tickets for THURSDAY DEC 14 6 PM FAN EVENT and SATURDAY DEC 16 3:40 PM IMAX locked in!

Got four tickets with perfect seats, but I had to wait until 5pm Saturday to do so - everything else prior was front corner seats. I could have gone solo Thursday night, but the trade off here is my family and I all get to see it for the first time together.

Saw EP 1 in the middle of the day for a class trip (lol) I don't remember if the theatre was going crazy or not.

EP 3 first night, I think there was maybe 20 of us in the theatre.

TFA was a fun, I think I saw it two or three times in Cali; opening day and maybe the day after lol.

Rogue One maybe had half a theatre, but this was in the middle of the day and weather is such a tossup with reserved seating.

I'm gunna be ok right

lol I knew tickets would be selling early.

the Thursday showing at my local Imax was booked but managed to get 5 good seats for the 7pm Dec 15 showing.

Should've bypassed that compressor, Ghal.

Prime Seats >>>>>>>>>>> date

Then again you are a mod. Gotta read them spoilers to know what's what - or do people even do that anymore. Post spoilers and then account suicide
