That was a great trailer. I wonder what that ending means? I don't think Rey will turn to the dark side.
 
Disney would NOT let a female protag turn evil.

It's one of the main reasons Rey is so boring. Nothing will happen to her at all. Political immunity.

I've been thinking she would turn evil since the first movie. The way she overpowered Kylo on TFA using her rage and how easy she was falling into the "dark power pool" in TLJ plus how "perfect" she is at everything. They are going to make a "Revan" with her, a Sith that got her memories erased.

I think Rey is a great character. She is the best part of the new trilogy. I don't think they would turn any main character evil in the final part of the Skywalker saga.

Rey ain't turning dark side.
Best case scenario is that rather than Kylo predictably sacrificing himself at the end, Rey sacrifices herself to save him and Kylo, inspired by her sacrifice, turns and carries on the Skywalker name.

I mean the film is called the Rise of Skywalker after all and Adam Driver is the best thing about the ST.

I fully support Driver and his weird face and body.
 
I'm sorry but the folding light sabre looks incredibly stupid and reeks of desperation to add something new.

I remember I was almost crying when I saw that TFA trailer back then with the "Chewie, we are home" moment.
With this, I really feel nothing.

I just noticed, what a clusterfuck Star Wars has been ever since Return of the Jedi ended.

I wish I could warn my 8 year old self from back in 1983 that I should never watch any SW movie after that.

Fuck off Disney. Your Star Wars movies suck ass and no matter how much you keep invoking the old stuff, it's not gonna change a damn thing.
 
Putting the awful design aside, my guess is that's supposed to be Rey's mother. We find out her mom was an evil Skywalker.
 
she skipped the training went straight to the dark side somehow wields a double bladed saber better than darth maul who had training his whole life.
 
So Kylo is the Skywalker that will rise up and bring Rey down now? Eh whatever, I'll watch for closure if anything.
 
I still haven't watched TLJ and frankly, I have no desire to. This is weird because I love the franchise.

I think I'll watch this one though.
 
The folding lightsaber looks stupid af, how do you pocket something like that? Which Jedi Sith designed it, is an ergonomic idiot.
Seems too big for tiny Rey's hands.

I hope Disney turns Rey evil and Reylo saves the day, just to subvert some sjw.
But we know this has zero chance. Remember every male characters are supposed to be dumbos here.

What would the utility even be? Mauls makes sense - it's handled like a normal lightsaber otherwise, but allows for different techniques when both ends are lit. This thing is...weird.
 
So they Teased the last scene of the movie? The party scene on Tatooine or jakku or whenever they are?

Creepio! ( I uhh read something about evil c3po in some Reddit or 4chan leak somewhere & dismissed it as fanfiction, ummmm now I wish I screenshotted that one as it had more spoilers & I can't remember what else was on there)

Finally Darth Rey literally 80% of the Internet has realised it's probably a vision like Luke Facing Luke Vader in ESB , A vision from palps given to her to torment/seduce her to the darkside hardly anyone is buying that she actually turns to the dark side or if not a vision , then probably a clone as mentioned above, because of that if your audience doesn't buy it then 🤷🏻‍♂️ Why put it in the trailer? They aren't bold enough to end a Trilogy on an Evil Rey especially since I said the ending Party on Tatooine/Jakku shot is in the same trailer ^

Just read a load of spoilers over at Ree.
They sounds too fucking wacky to be true but if they are true then the final film will be weird as fuck lol

Best thing I can say about them is that most of Ree fucking hates them which is a win in my opinion lol
 
Just give us something... anything! We need original ideas and not rehashes of plot points from the OT.

Don't expect it to happen with Abrams at the helm. Guy's an unoriginal hack who is all flash and no substance (his mystery box hypothesis is stupid). RedLetterMedia was right in calling him Spielberg lite.

I am holding hope though that he may deliver this time and make up for Rian Johnson's horrendous outing.
 
If they had balls, Rey'd turn to the Dark Side and the "Rise of Skywalker" would be Kylo Ren's comeback to the Light


Problem is I doubt they have balls for that

Half of the trailer is literally "remember STAR WARS?" We're at film three and the sequel trilogy can't stand on its own fucking legs.

Trailer gave me goosebumps. I guess I'm a sucker, or part of the problem, because I can't help but get excited for new Star Wars stuff no matter but what.

I feel like an idiot right now because I can't figure out what he's saying at he end. I'm listening with headphones and everything. What does he say after "your journey," I honestly can't make it out for some reason.

I doubt she turns dark but that would be cool. This is probably a misdirect.

That isn't Rey. Something is off about the face, it looks like a digital char made from Rey's likeness, probably her mom in a flashback sequence.

Only way I can see Rey going full dark is if someone (Kylo, the Knights, the emperor) literally murder everyone else but I don't know if Disney would go that dark?

Its either her pretending to be bad to get somewhere. Like Leia as a bounty Hunter.

Or its like Luke's vision with his head inside Vaders mask

They have no new ideas, just reuse old shit over and over
 
Rey/Kylo possessed will be mind control which will be up there with Time Travel in horrible plot devices. i thought they had sunk to a new low ripping off Battlestar Galactica tv show stranded plot and the titular sequence of Starcrash (defeating the bad guys by flying your ship into them, except Stella Star had the sense to leap out of the ship meaning Star Wars is now dumber than it's own 40 year old ripoffs). mind control is just, why should i care about anything from that point on? like multiverses and bringing back the dead, it fundamentally undercuts any and all future drama.

maybe Luke was mind controlled in last movie too? wouldn't that make all the people who loved TLJ's portrayal and found him realistic retconned into rooting for the bad guy and being entirely wrong about everything? then again Rey could be possessed, killed herself in Noble Suicide fashion that is so popular. the actress has wanted out for a while. still, great way to conclude your trilogy that is inspirational to little girls, having the main hero kill herself. i dunno. it feels like every single option they have will only lead to disaster. this is the consequence of not coming up with new ideas.

guy who wrote Batman V Superman wrote this, and that film used a dream sequence of Batman in a duster captured by Superman in the trailer. this could be a dream sequence, a fake force vision, anything really, which has nothing to do with the overall plot, which is constantly getting rebooted anyways. more mystery box bullshit from the master JJ. the answer is going to be uninteresting and cheap, like everything he makes. this is just SW Remix #10,000: Rey X Darth Maul

Palpatine has familiarity with clones, and has some sort of role in this movie.
In TLJ, in the cave Rey saw a long row of herself.
In the final shot of this footage, Rey's face looks slightly different.

Rian in TLJ: oops we killed off Snoke so now we dont have a bjg baddie.

JJ in ROS: brings back Palpatine.

Sorry but I just dont care about this dumpster fire of a "trilogy" anymore.
 
Cool I guess. That last scene is obviously some sort of fakeout. There's no chance in hell they have the balls to actually turn Rey dark for more than a fleeting moment. TLJ was a massive disappointment in so many ways, but I'll be there day one for 9 for closure if nothing else.
 
I don't think Palpatine is alive again, but rather we may seem him in one or two scenes as a Force spirit, and this installment will reveal a plan he had in place that is now being carried out by the First Order. Makes sense since the entire saga has dealt with Palpatine's plans and manipulations that the conclusion of the Skywalker saga would involved him.

I'm pretty sure Kylo is still the main villain of this movie.
 
That trailer reminded me that the Lucas films had memorable moments, even the prequels, but the new trilogy has nothing meaningful or memorable about it. The only thing I really recall from the new films is the Kyle/Ren psychic connection.

This entire movie's plot has been hinted at since Disney bought LucasFilm.
 
The music in the trailer is spellbinding, but the new trilogy scenes just held no emotional weight for me whatsoever. Also WHERE IS ROSE TICO?
