Fractal Terra

I built it to go in my living room so went small form factor.

The thing is quiet as hell even at a heavy load with the right components. Really fun to built this thing. Hadn't built a PC in like 3 years... my goal was to build a PS5 Pro console killer in a small PC case.
Nice! I have an Ncase-M1 tucked behind the Tv in my living room.

Expectations for openworld games was set by GTA with seamless traversal without menus. Starfield having areas sectioned off with flying separate from waking and no vehicles to go across the landscape isn't ideal, but it's also not the end of the world. There's limitations in place obviously. I kinda wish they didn't shoot for 1000 planets with most of them being empty. Focusing development on seamless travel in and out of planets would've made the experience more immersive...but what do I know 🤷🏻‍♂️

No. For this type of game. The bar is No Mans Sky for seamless planetary space to ground, planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy. GTA's scope is much smaller compared to either No Mans Sky or Starfield.

So obviously you'll be limited to how many Outposts, and other buildings you can deploy on a Planet, otherwise if you run out of tiles and one has to be wiped so to generate another, those buildings will be wiped too?

For I am become loss, the concerner of worlds. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

These look great. The third person camera looks like an actually viable way to play.

Also liking the enemy AI running and hiding from the player, instead of barging in a bee-line like Fallout.

Good shit all around.

edit: Huge pet peeve, why doesn't the guy just make direct captures, export then via USB and upload, instead of these dutch-angle off camera pictures lol.
You're kidding right??? The AI looks like trash…

That whole setup is so pimp

I just can't help but wonder if Microsoft saw something else with regards to Starfield and PlayStation... Maybe the PlayStation experience would have been very different. 🤔

No Man's Sky is a sandbox.

This is a fully designed and realised rpg.

If this is real it blows some of the theories about underwater swimming and planet exploration away

Edit...shouldn't it be "olympus mons" tho?..hmm probably fake

Edit 2. Ffs clearly let my excitement get the best of me 😄

Modern gaming man... You have to fucking unlock the ability to hold onto ledges?

Other than that... looking forward to the game.

But these endless unlocks and skill trees need to die.

Which is why i specifically stated:

We are talking about travel/seamless experience? Or did you move the goal post?

The person that did this is very naughty. :messenger_grinning_squinting:

LMAO, text doesn't even line up. Ledge grabbing is in though!

Was this shit recorded in Dubai or something?!

The comparison is ridiculous . They're doing such different things in so many senses.

NMS is barely a game. Still.

It's a fucking RPG. You want to kill perks and skills from RPG? What's next? No climbing in the next Uncharted? No respawning enemies in Souls games? C'mon man.

I just think something as basic as ... holding on to a ledge should be built into the game not an unlockable. But I suppose its not that big a deal in a big ass RPG like this.

next they will have aiming your gun be an unlockable. anything to pad out game length and stats

It just gives players more options. See, now you can create an old grandma type of character that's not so agile and have difficulties traversing. Maybe RPG is just not your thing? Think about it.

Let the hate flow through you :messenger_tears_of_joy:

25 major expansions, different storylines, base building, suit/multitool/ship upgrading (last two with different procedurally generated styles/classes), 4 different (procgen) alien races to learn language from, procgen missions, a ingame shop to unlock costumization/cosmetics etc...
Barely a game :messenger_blowing_kiss: always funny to read, its as if I would write something derogatory about COD or Battlefield about which I know next to nothing.
Dude, Tetris and Pong are games, but per your definition these count as what? Interactive screen saver?
The comparison is not ridiculous, but the hate this game gets from day one is :messenger_blowing_kiss:

Nice list. I said 'still' which mean that I am aware the game has had many update since release.

Lots of content has been added, but little game. Which is the thing I care about; good games.

The technical demands of these two titles are so massively different.

Do you think if you went to either Hello Games or Bethesda that they wouldn't laugh in your face if you said "well that game does it, so…"?

If the game is great, not being able to fly through the atmosphere seamlessly is going to become a distant thought. Because, y'know, people will like the gameplay.

A disappointment for many no doubt, but hardly a good reason to talk about the game with an air of failure. Also clearly something that is a limitation of their engine.

I've been so tempted to get this case, but I already have the Lian Li Dan A4 H2O (0?) so I don't really need it.

I'm over the fact Starfield won't have seamless exploration. Will be fun regardless and in a lot of areas leagues better than NMS. I compare, but I do not have the idea that if one game has a feature, the other has to have it, don't know where you got the idea from.
Just had to give a comment about your nonsensical opinion that NMS is barely a game. You have no idea but spew bullshit that's regurgitated on the internet :messenger_tears_of_joy: same with people saying Death Stranding is a boring walking simulator.

I don't talk about Starfield with an 'air of failure', again, don't know where that's coming from you...

Was I originally replying to you? No. It was sendit.

Should be able to yeah... make sure you CPU cooler is short enough so it can all fit. The case allows for you to move the mobo left and right depending on which side is taking up more space (GPU vs CPU+Cooler).

ApdvyEH.jpg
Do you have a link to your parts etc? I've had a mashlicious for a while but I found the fans very noisy on my CPU cooler so moved it all into a NZXT Flow case but it's bloody massive and the cooler is giving me high temps on the cpu so wouldn't mind moving to AM5 and going small form factor again

No man's sky had a story and a campaign?
Holy shit, good on them. I never knew.

The amount of content Hello Games added for free is staggering, honestly. The campaign/storylines are nothing to write home about (and sadly not voiced), although I enjoy them immensely cause its my cup of tea. But this game buries you under things to do. (Some people seem to think there's no gameplay in it, no mechanics and all you do is look at landscapes and walk through barren wastelands, but I assure you, nothings further from the truth and everbody that has played this game for more than 2 hours knows it)

Case: Fractal Terra
GPU: ProArt 4080
CPU: i5-13600KF
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B760-I
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 32 GB
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9x65
CPU Contact Frame (put in before cooler): Thermalright LGA 1700, 17XX-BCF
PSU: Asus Rog Loki SFX-L 850W

Lots of Asus stuff so if you are against the company now just look for similar alternatives.

Are you two like a Jekyll & Hyde situation? Far too similar sounding usernames with completely polar opposite opinions 😭

Theory time. I have a feeling that space powers will be unlocked very late into the game but because there's a new game plus mode you will be able to carry them to new game. That's what that one person who said that Starfield is like 2 games in one meant. A new game plus will be vastly different thanks to those powers.

Damn that PC looks NET !!!

Details from the 2 hour stream
  • Every planet has a a section for Residential Modules
  • If you say no to being arrested, they start shootin (skyrim type)
  • If you bring up your scanner you can see icons of areas you've been to, and can fast travel to them.
  • Player hasn't personally seen any cities other than the ones mentioned ( other than some small areas of people)
  • Thrusters are difficult with a controller
  • There are alot of loading screens (Landing, taking off, grav drive, leaving ship) Was bothersome at first but player is no longer bothered by it.
  • If you walk into a planet without any gear, "you're fucked" Meaning, if you don't have the gear equipped, you need to put it on.
  • You can decorate interior ship
  • You can have an armory module
  • Every Landing Zone has a point of interest
  • Not every activity shows up on the map.
  • There are guns similar to the Laser gun in Fallout.
  • There is a stealth bar.
  • Ammo runs out fairly quickly.
  • Levelling is "smooth", fast I assume.
  • Combat seems to be the main levelling up
  • You get status effects, burns, corrosive rain, solar radiation, toxic envirnment (presumbaly more)
  • The game on normal is fairly easy.
  • When you run, your O2 goes down, and CO2 up. You need to wait for each to do the opposite.
  • You can make multiple levels of ship.
  • It (ship building) takes some time to get used to.
  • Space walking is a no go.
  • Some houses require citizenship (need to be in military service) to own in big cities.
  • Customisation is "the biggest one they've got".
  • There are Pronouns.
  • 8 Maximum Outposts per Planet (ugradeable via perks)
  • The leaker is saying that Vasco actually says his name, and hinted that it's not just a pre-selection of names (like in Fallout 4), he actually says his name (he didn't put his real name)*
  • There is a shop in Neon similar to clinic which will let you change your appearance.*
  • According to the leaker, it is the best character creator (in a BSG game) to date.*
  • He hasn't come across any black holes yet, but he thinks he will because it probably has something to do with the story.*
  • When you land for the first time in a location, there is a sizeable loading screen. From then on, when you come back to that same location, it's almost instantaneous.*
  • From the way he's showing how it works, he hinted that if you land in X location on planet Y, place a Z item on the ground, and leave there and then return to that location, the Z item will remain there.*
  • He said that there is a good amount of "casual/random encounters" in the space, it can entertain you a lot there.*
  • If you team up with faction X that is the enemy of faction Y, and the people from faction X find out that you are doing missions for faction Y, they will be pissed at you, same for companions.*
  • He is on a moon and found a pirate outpost there.
  • The moon has little gravity. When he killed an enemy, his loot was floating and he took everything "in the air".*
  • Gravity is heavy on Venus, the character doesn't jump much.
  • It has "futuristic" weapons and older (from Earth) weapons like old shotguns etc.*
  • Player got held up by space pirates and entered combat after denying the ransom.
  • Player has hit the barrier a few times. (Feels longer than 10mins)
  • Player dislikes water physics, cannot go underwater.
  • There are random encounters of outposts with enemies on barren planets.
  • "It's difficult, the more I play it the more I like it", when asked to rate the game. rating stands at 8.9/10 (reminds me of Todd's "The more you give it, the more it gives you")
  • "It looks like I'm getting insurance scammed in space" lmao

Bethesda games have tons of little items with their own physics that you can pick up and interact with. Of course its going to have loading screens.

Some of those water sections remind of Skyrim. Probably the least impressive stuff so far.

Getting Destiny vibes.
