Starfield xbox series Gameplay leaked

I am loss.

For I am become loss, the concerner of worlds. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Some combat:

These look great. The third person camera looks like an actually viable way to play.

Also liking the enemy AI running and hiding from the player, instead of barging in a bee-line like Fallout.

Good shit all around.

edit: Huge pet peeve, why doesn't the guy just make direct captures, export then via USB and upload, instead of these dutch-angle off camera pictures lol.

I'm honestly more impressed by how they fixed their third person animations, you would not tell that it's a bethesda game.

Shooting and ia look kinda worse than cyberpunk but still ok.

Not enough material to judge, i wanna see the gunplay with machine guns, shotguns and powerfull rifles.

Is it me or i didn't saw any gore in any footage whatsoever? Is cutting limbs at least confirmed?

Fractal Terra

I built it to go in my living room so went small form factor.

The thing is quiet as hell even at a heavy load with the right components. Really fun to built this thing. Hadn't built a PC in like 3 years... my goal was to build a PS5 Pro console killer in a small PC case.

I think the shooting (aside from the pistol) looks better.

Just blood, no gore.

I thing cyberpunk is a bit more impactfull and the gore help to sell the violence.

Is no gore confirmed? Fucking why?

I agree with gore selling the violence. The assault rifles (etc) in Starfield appear to have quite a bit of impact, the Pistol not so much.

From what I've read, no gore, dismemberment, etc.

I should clarify. They mentioned there is blood, but no gore or dismemberment.
Someone at bethesda said the bolded quote? Or the leakers on reddit?

Who is they?

People bitching about the tiles but they ignore no gore in an adult fps game in 2023? That is a big ass letdown if true.

Leakers. People have just been focusing on the tiles, but there is a ton of other info that has leaked on Reddit.

I was just looking at this yesterday but wasnt sure it would fit my 4080 zotac. Looks awesome.

Recon I could get a 4090 FE in that.

You can generate 4 and then it starts deleting them.

So the bulk of the procedural content will be generated and "complete" within four LZs if I had to guess. The reason for this is probably game save "size" related and pacing.

I'm sure mods can address this but I'm curious how thicc my game save would get with dozens of LZs per planet.

Game erases old landing zones confirmed:

I guess the save file saves the all the stuff you loot and leave on the ground in each tiles (which get cleared after some times like in Skyrim and Fallout).
So saving an infinite stuff in the save can make it huge if you try to visit a whole planet and land on many others.

That's a good and simple way to avoid huge (and potentially problematic) save files.

So in theory we're not limited in landing zones number and can visit the whole planet, old zones just get removed from the save.
And I guess that if you visit and old zone again it will look the same but reseted, and maybe random stuff won't be the same.

I'm assuming it has to do with item placement tracking within the locations generated.

I believe zones will always change if they are overwritten, even if you have already visited them.
where we will build the camps instead I think they will always remain the same

I don't like that you can't see the city in the background if you are in an adjacent area, it breaks the immersion

I have a full size case but damn that's sexy 👀

So the loadtimes aren't really 2 seconds that just happens when you go through doors and shit.

Just making an observation calm your tits defense force, no need to attack.

Well you're right and someone takes this as "hating" but I'm very much excited for the game and this landing system is a huge bummer.

No even effort to make it immersive, you just spawn on the ground after a loading screen.

Game erases old landing zones confirmed:

Are the "tiles" geographically accurate? If you land next to the ocean/sea does the map feature the correct shape of the shore or is it a randomized map with a random body of water at the edge?

Just wondering how accurate the actual land formations (mountains, lakes, oceans etc.) are compared to when actually land on a tile.

So...others complaining about random thing a is bitching and should be belittled while complains about random thing b that oneself does is important and should be recognized as such by others.
Is there really no self reflection anywhere anymore?
There is a lot of different stuff that can be seen as a letdown by different people. That is always the case if a developer isn't transparent in their communication before releasing a product.
And that's the society we live in. Build up an image, convince others of that image and try to hide the true stuff until it cannot be hidden any longer.
Or I have just too much time on my hands since I'm off work this week 😎
Cannot fucking wait for friday, I'm still pumped, even though I would like to dismember space punks on a seamlessly explorable planet, but I'll take what I get from Bethesda I guess :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I would think the tiles at least use one huge heightmap to block in the primary landscape geometry, otherwise it would seem pretty silly if theres no lake, canyon etc in the particular place :messenger_dizzy:

Careful, I was called out for "shitting" on Starfield (I didn't, no evidence ever provided) simply for trying to have conversations about various aspects of the game.

I'm glad to see this thread has moved on though mostly from the tile "issue" now that we're getting more leaks on combat, ship building, etc.

I think that tiles not being perfect is a thing that only super nerds are gonna notice or care, not having gore is something that everyone is gonna notice when they shoot with a shotgun or launch a granade, you are really not putting those 2 things on the same level of bad, right?

Even if i respect the fact that someone could find shit tiles worse than no gore, no gore is simply way, WAY more noticeable in the moment to moment gameplay.

Also, like many people said, no engine is super good with perfect tiles on a planetary scale, it would be an hard thing to achieve in every game, but fucking gore? We had that since forever, not a single excuse to not have that, like not a single valid one.

So yeah, my point stands, no gore in a 2023 adult and realistic fps is way worse than non-perfect tiles tech.

I'm just fucking around. Normally, I'm not as active on here mostly for the fact that every fucking discussion results in a lack of understanding the other side, insults and then all out war us vs them mentality. It's disgusting.
But I have time to kill and played a lot of BG3, RDR the last few days. Today I played Sea of Stars for 4 hours, awesome game...but I'm just on here constantly, refreshing two threads waiting for friday. Just pumped, hyped...last time for me was 2016 before the release of NMS :messenger_winking:
So yeah, going back to the topic, I'd love for gore and dismemberment to be there, I hope there will be mods on console too for stuff like this.
And I wholeheartedly agree with you that it's more important than 'persistent tiling', but I'm still a sucker for seamless exploration since starting NMS and I'm a little disppointed that Bethesda didn't achieve what I had hoped. But I always assumed I will be disappointed by a couple of things...
Still hoping it will be possible to find a nice place, build an outpost, watch the sun rise and set and there being a solar ecplise from time to time. But again, I'm not expecting that, just hoping/dreaming

I hope I'm wrong but sometimes it seems like viewing the planet (from space) is just an image of the continents but when you land it procedurally generates a random map or best guess estimated approximation of the actual geography. That's why I really wish Bethesda could have done a better deep dive or allowed for actual previews

So technically the Planets in Starfield are made up of random jigsaw pieces that don't match up? 🤷🏻‍♂️ seamless exploration is impossible?

Right now it looks that way, yes.
How the generation works will only be possible to scrutinize once more people get their hands on the game come friday
