Wait what is this? Never heard of it and the fact that it's coming to something other than PC is intriguing.
Why does the animation look so stiff?
I would imagine because the game cost $158,000 (minus KS fees, so like $140,000) to make.
That is not a small sum of money you know.
Game looks interesting, I'll probably check it out on Vita when it launches. I'm glad we are getting somewhat of a resurgence in this genre lately!

I would be ecstatic to have a $150,000 budget for my (3D) game. As I'm sure these developers were.
Yes you would be as a single person, but hire 20 guys with salaries. Buy Sony Devkits and have a deadline of 12 months and see how far you get with that money
Besides looking at those Kickstarter cost breakdowns, i bet they got something like 100,000$ at the end to spend.
My current team is three people not one, and we're entirely self funded so I've got some idea of how money is spent.
My current team is three people not one, and we're entirely self funded so I've got some idea of how money is spent. I didn't claim it was a 20+ person budget, but that doesn't mean it's not a reasonable sum of money to make a game with. It's the amount of money the development team asked for to make the game after all so I hope it's a reasonable sum!
Really didn't think my comment was controversial enough to warrant these responses. It's an interesting game in a somewhat dead genre which makes it doubly interesting, but there's no reason to jump on anybody who doesn't find it compelling (Which again, is NOT me!).
They're still working on the physics engine apparently. Is it just me or do the ships not appear to have any weight to them?

I don't think it looks that good, the flight animation seems really stiff and janky and the shooting looks weak. It just makes me wish Sidhe had finished making their Project Space game even more. This is what a space shooter should look like:
After watching the trailer, I still can't tell...can you fly from space the entire way down to the surface of one of the planets? Or are there specific "space mission" and "planet mission" types?
I would buy the game based off the ability to just explore to be honest....
Also, it reminds me of late 90s PC games with the physics as of now.
Garry Gaber said:Hi Taylan - Good catch! Yes, one of the coolest features of the game is that you can seamlessly fly from space down to the surface of a planet / moon and back up again...
Trailer music needs more horns.
one of my better Kickstarter decisions
