Dude, neither of these games need to compare to GoW ot TloU. A quality experience can still be had without trying to mimic or compete.
I mean seriously, I could go on and on about how GoW, TLoU or Horizon are great games but don't last beyond a week before their right back on the shelf like the purchaser found it - compared to Halo, Gears and Forza which are amazing games that can be played and talked about for years! Which they are..
But is it really necessary?
You're not understanding the context of compare. Those games are systems sellers because they were published & developed in-house (majority) w/ huge marketing pushes & an insanely large existing fan base, plus it always helps when you can garner "game of the year" type status . This entire thread was based on if SOD2 could be one as well?
No. It's not in the same league as to what usually qualifies for a system-seller PRIOR to a release. Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the game itself, but rather the term system seller.
And you're right. Quality experiences can still be enjoyed & in no way, shape or form did I say it couldn't. That does not make a game a system seller, as noted above.
Why are you comparing SONY exclusives to MS exclusives? What are you doing lol? What's that have to do with anything? Whether a game is played for 2 days, 1 year, 20 years does not matter, but rather if it pushed enough consoles off the shelf to qualify as one. Some could say that it's even more impressive for a game that's single-player only, played for a week, STILL push consoles off the shelf vs a game with full-on MP.
I consider myself more of an Xbox guy (even though I've owned all different ones) as you can see by my post history, but I always call it like it is & some of your comments just come off as fan boyish..... "
compared to Halo, Gears and Forza which are amazing games that can be played and talked about for years!". Come on my dude lol.
Anyways, I just think you're getting mad at people because it's not what you expected to hear or you believe there's some hidden agenda.
It's going to be a awesome, fun game...no one has said otherwise. Bonafide system seller? No, & to be quite frank, you're just setting yourself & the game up for disappointment with those type of expectations.
