Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation.
It is used to distribute games and related media online, from small independent developers to larger software houses. Steam also has
community features, automated game updates, in-game voice and chat functionality. As of December 2011, there are 1,488 games
available through Steam, and 35 million active user accounts.




You can send money directly to your steam account for later use on game purchases. GameStop has also collaborated with Steam to let
you buy gamecards from Gamestop to use on Steam. Both of these are useful if you do not want to deal with paypal or you need to keep
a budget on Steam sales.

Steam remote now lets you completely access your steam account to buy games, use community functions and start game downloads
away from your computer. (You must be logged onto the steam client for remote downloads to work)




Steam now has a mobile app for Android and iOS, you can participate in the Steam community wherever you go. Chat with your
Steam friends, browse community groups and user profiles, read the latest gaming news and stay up to date on Steam sales.

Steam won't start or run?
Delete ClientRegistry.blob and restart. If all else fails: delete everything but steamapps folder and reinstall steam.

Is using a VPN to get steam games from another region a good idea?
Not really, it can result in getting your account banned, same goes for key's. Most people can unlock games early so that seems to be fine.

Can I still buy games outside the steam store? and start downloads away from my computer?
Yes Steam Remote/Mobile lets you buy games when you are away from the steam client, you can also start remote downloads as well.

One of my grid icons is missing a picture?
Steam now lets you add custom grid art, check here to see some artwork Gaf did.

I want to clean up my Steam folder of re-distributable packages ? (Direct X, GFWL Redist, Rapture3D, NVidia PhysX, etc)

If they are in your inventory then yes, you cannot trade games you have already purchased for your account, you cannot trade keys

Have both but have only played Sleeping Dogs so far. Some friends are reporting "stutter" and...no graphic options whatsoever in Darksiders II. Vs. all the display settings in Sleeping Dogs that's pretty disappointing, but I plan on trying it out later tonight to see how it performs. I'd like to hear more impressions here.

I suggest you to not try any skins nowadays, I assume with the new Steam client update lots of items will change on the GUI and you can be left with erroneous GUI or miss some new features completely.

There are two or three basic options for video and I wish there were more options for tweaking the performance. The game will even start running without letting you choose any graphic options, you have to pause the game, once you're finally in it, change the resolution and then quit out for that change to be saved and implemented. It's weird.

It looks and run great though. It's bigger, crazier, prettier version of Darksiders.

it depends if you can get into dungeon crawlers at all.... of course you could always try the demo and see if you enjoy it...

it's rather annoying that with the vsync on I seem to max out at 15 frames.... my computer shouldn't be so weak that it can't handle a little vsync.... beyond that the demo wasn't bad.... the default controls on the keyboard are a little weird but it's a game I will likely hook up a controller for when I get it anyways lol

Yep, gungame is one of the default modes, along with another mode that combines gungame with the classic bomb defusal stuff.
