I joined Steam a year ago today. Signed up for the treasure hunt if I remember correctly.

What is the oldest possible account? I think I saw 2002 and maybe even a rare 2001.

Valve began an external beta some time in 2002, for the CS 1.6 beta. I imagine it's possible that some Valve vets have even earlier accounts owing to closed/internal testing and whatnot.

You crazy game addict GAF. Gotta collect them all?

By the way, Stats section counts both games if it's PC and MAC. Actually have 108 games when it shows 141 games.

I registered because HL2 Collectors (21.december 2004). Soon after that WoW was released and I forgot Steam for years.

It also includes DLC and miscellaneous items such as soundtracks. My Steam Community and Steam Library game counts are especially skewed - the former reports 598 games, the latter 409.

I remember the join date because it's when the Natural Selection 3.0 Beta 1 came out with Steam support. What a mammoth pile of shite Steam was then too. It's hard to believe that it has come from those awful beginnings to where it is now but credit to Valve for putting in the work to get it right.

We've been hitting that peak regularly for a bit now. I have checked like 3 times this week and it was either that high or maybe a little higher.
