Steelseries Arctis 7X

Just an FYI, the videos I've seen showed the voice chat to be much clearer with the mic extended.
Ah well, guess I'll just need to get used to it and hope it won't breadt'll do then, cheers :)

It's annoying they don't release a model compatible for Series S/X and PS5 though... Is there something preventing that? Am I missing something?

The Arctis 7X is compatible with both (wirelessly too). It's compatible with everything basically.

Ah ?
I read (saying this and can't find it of course, so please correct me if I'm wrong) that the volume wheel sound/chat, doesn't work on PS5.

The 3d pulse or platinum.

volume should work, the chatmix doesn't work on PS5
There you go, thx ^^

Ah well, I already have the Pulse 3D for the PS5, guess I'll get this one for my Series X (when I manage to get one...) and my PC, even though I use the HyperX Cloud 2 at the moment.

Yeah, the chatmix option I believe is only Xbox. But there's a quick menu fix on PS5 to adjust that as well by pressing the PS Button. Overall, these headphones so far have been great and extremely easy to set up.

Let me tell you this, if you're looking for a headset which does anything almost excellent (sound wise), looks great, feels comfortable and light don't look further. This is the headset to have on the Xbox Series X. I truly like them, and the EQ app gives you the right versatility to change the settings for your liking.

What do you rock on the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5?
Already on my radar, I'm currently wearing the arctis 7's for pc and it works seemlessly with my PS4. I'm hoping it also works for PS5 whenever I get one. 200 dollars for these puppies and I'm just waiting a bit before I grab em. Good post though OP, highly recommend the Arctis headset.

I didn't buy the 7x because I wanted Bluetooth to my phone without the dongle as my phone has a off centred port. Otherwise I probably would of just bought them. Wouldn't they suffer from the same problem?, I'm assuming they connect to the Xbox via the same method?

Not taking it personally I just don't know what else to say other than I've had no dramas with mine and from the research I've done I did not notice anyones complaints about mic faults. May have missed them.. but as I said it's rare to find a product without a fault unfortunately.. overall this line of steel series headsets are great.
9x connectivity issues are widespread.

To answer your question, 7x does not connect via the same method. Steelseries changed the connectivity method on the 7x. They switched from Xbox propriety connection used on the 9x to their own 2.4 GHz wireless tech on the 7x

I first noticed complaints with connectivity issues for the 9x on Amazon. There are tons of people complaining there. I did more research and found lots of people complaining online. Idk how you haven't been able to find this issue online if you searched for it tbh

The issue seems to be related mostly to people's router or other wireless devices interfering with it. It doesn't effect everyone, depends on the layout of their home. So yes it's very possible you'll never have issues

Edit: to clarify, it's not a mic issue. It's an issue with the headset disconnecting

Ahh well I have noticed complaints with connectivity online but never have experienced them myself as I said. Seems to be something to do with 2.4 GHz from the router which in my case doesn't actually work so might be why. I'm not sure.. Its a shame that they use a single for phone connectivity as I would probably switch to avoid this issue just incase..

Another Canadian here frustrated with the 7x not being sold here, and Steelseries site wanting $40 to ship it via FedEx (with additional brokerage charges no doubt). Waiting for my Arctis 1 Wireless for Xbox to arrive now via Amazon.

I just bought these after reading all the praise. What eq settings are you using along with Dolby atmos settings. Mine don't sound quite right by default.
Thank you.

I use the default settings which is everything in the middle

You need to use the Dolby or DTS license to get a better sound stage on the Xbox, Windows Sonic isn't good.

What kind of settings you recommend in Dolby Atmos app? Game + performance mode?
Doesn't the app just have one recommended setting for gaming and lots of other settings for movies?

I can check next time I'm on my xsx but I believe it was just in the default gaming setting

Got a pair of these for Christmas. Haven't had much time to play about with them but they sound great so far.

I'm used to the gold headset on PS4 which automatically turns TV speakers off when you switch them on but the feature appears to be missing on the 7X which is odd. I have to manually turn tv volume down. Is this what they're like or am I missing something?

Not missing anything. The auto switching only works with first party head sets.

I got the 7x earlier in the week and am very happy with it so far. The missing features like that and the chat/game audio mixer wheel not being supported in PlayStation is a bummer, but I needed a decent headset that worked on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series (and Switch and PC and the Sony headsets don't work wirelessly on Xbox as MS uses a different frequency.

Sorry, should've clarified, I'm using them on the XSX but will use them on PS5 when I eventually get one. They're strongly marketed for XSX, would've thought a feature like this would be present.

I don't have the headset, but I got a Steelseries keyboard and mouse and so far I'm impressed with the quality and value of it, I'm definitely going to look into the Arctis for my next headset.

Ah. Yeah. Far as I know that's an Xbox one and Series S|X limitation as audio seems to go through both the TV/AVR/Soundbar and headphones whether it's USB headphones or headphones plugged into the controller. I've blared audio a few times as I was used to using Sony headphones on PS4 and 5 that auto switch the audio.

I'd love to buy them but I can't find them anywhere in Canada. The only place is directly from SteelSeries but they want $40 to ship them to Canada.
If you're still looking and they'll ship to Canada, you can try ordering from the US. The customs exemption has been raised to $150 CAD under the new USMCA agreement.

I'm in the process of testing that out myself.

The 7x were a great pick up IMO.
Comfort level is great
Sound quality is great (on both PS5 and XSX)
Charging port is a bummer (it is micro usb).
Overall great value and will use them.

I just got these: Razer Kaira Pro
Wireless sync with XSX (no dongle required)
Also have bluetooth for other devices
Has a USB C charging port.
The mic is removable
Have not given them a good run though so I cannot recommend them quite yet.
Can these be wired 3.5 to the switch?

Looking for a decent universal headset for the kid. He doesn't necessarily take care of stuff but want them to last a while. Right now he primarily plays on the switch.
