I think Connie would be wise enough to understand that the relationship between her & Steven and Steven & Amethyst are very different. Stevonnie comes from their deep bond of friendship bordering on romance, while Smoky Quartz clearly comes from Steven and Amethyst's powerful sibling-like bond and their familial love. It could still happen as an episode, and it might lead to a moment where Connie tries to think about just how her relationship with Steven is different from his relationship with the Gems.

Either way, I'd love to see Connie interact more closely with the other Gems. Her and Pearl have a great relationship, and it would be nice to see her get closer to Garnet, Amethyst, Peridot, and Lapis.

I feel like that would end with
Pearl taking Connie aside and trying to provide her with the wisdom of experience on Amethyst's and Steven's behalf.

I just realized that Amethyst mentioning the Dog Walker means that they're talking about what yoyo tricks to show Pearl and Garnet while they're fused as Smoky Quartz. That's adorable.

So that's another Orange is the new Black actor being a voice in Steven Universe. Smoky was weird? That 3rd arm looked weird but eh, they're a weird fusion and it was adorable. I got a bit giddy and excited because you could tell it was about to happen, its always nice to see another fusion.

I am fine with the fusion, I just wish her clothing wasn't so poor...
 
So what does everyone think do Amethyst and Rose also fuse into Smoky Quartz and if so would Pearl and Steven also make another version of Rainbow Quartz?
 
Things I feel that I learned from Earthlings ....

1- That HW has strict rules about gems and their purpose and wont allow any who stray from that. Be it "runts" or gems who decide to take on forms or roles they're not meant for (so basically the CGs). But it feels like that's a common enough thing that they seem to always be trimming the fat by using soldiers like Jasper to shut gems down who don't obey on HW or other planets. I remember one of the things Jasper said when she first got to earth was that it was another waste of her time ... seems like she has to be sent out to purge their outsiders fairly often enough. So yeah, wonder if we'll ever see more planets that have their own rebellions.

2- The Amy = Pizza Twins link is solidified. Not with a Twin Amy like I thought it would be but with a "sister" gem in Jasper. :3

3- I REALLY feel like PD was in charge of growing and producing/ nurturing Gems and that the Gem injectors were her thing to help with that. Feel that way because somehow what Rose did effected HW (unless Jasper meant Earth by "my planet") and if the ONE Diamond in charge of maintaining and growing the Gem population gets shattered then that responsibility has to be handled by the others, right? They might not be doing a great job with that and HW's resources could be suffering because of mismanagement. Also, all the Gem injector things are Pink and that feels important.

4- Rose is not PD and, according to Jasper (who knows if it's true or not. I'm assuming it's true cause why would the Diamonds wanna spread around that one was shattered by a soldier gem?) Rose killed her/ caused her death. On a side note I do wonder if Rose used the Break Point on PD. I mean ... she left it exactly where Bism had it instead of tossing it into the lava after poofing her like Steven did. Why would you keep a weapon like that around if you're not gonna use it some day?

5- Jasper was apart of the PD faction/ rule/ party like Rose and we could assume Pearl (from her space suit). Meaning that PD must have been the one who put the injectors in the beta kindergarten to make more warriors to fight in the war.

6- Seems like Jasper's been through this "feel-worthless-and-follow-the-one-who-makes-you-feel-like-less-of-a-failure" thing. Which would explain why she's with YD now that she wasn't able to save/ protect PD. :(
She also calls earth a prison which I don't get. I mean, I know that she thinks poorly of the earth but prison is where you send law breakers. Maybe she means prison in that this was were the weak were left to suffer after HW left earth alone.

7- Rose is a well known manipulator. Jasper doesn't trust a thing Steven says.

8- Seems like she finally is catching on to the thought that w/e Rose did to herself changed her into something that's truly not Rose at the end ... seeing how "Rose" doesn't remember her own Diamond.

9- Jasper is truly sad and alone. Rejected by both her known fusion partners ... takes it hard. :(
Save her Pearl! You're the only one who hasn't had a heart to heart with her! :o
Garnet=Fusion is good!
Lapis=We had a toxic, unhealthy relationship. We can't go back to that.
Amy=Talking about strength and doing stuff other then fighting.
Peri=Talking about how there's so much more to earth and how it can set you free.
Steven's been there every step of the way mostly + Stevonnie's talk with her.

Pearl, be the final blow!

One more big thing we learned from Earthlings is that
Jasper doesn't seem to know about corruption or where it came from - she seems to assume it's related to something that the gems on left on Earth did, rather than something that was done *to* them. She's been lied to by her superiors, or at the very least some crucial information has been left out of her briefings...
 
Eh, wasn't a fan of that.
Smokey Quartz design was so weird and put me off, jasper was way too cheesy and comically evil, only good part was the lore drop at the end. Although I never like it when a villains motivations are revealed at the last second like that.

Yeah, it was kinda weird. Reminded me of a 90's Hanna Barberra character, like something from Fantastic Max or Flintstone Kids. Didn't seem to fit.

Steven fusing with Amethyst is all I ever wanted.

I just knew he'd finally fuse with one of them, and Amethyst makes sense as his first since they have so much in common. Was a little off-put by Smokey's design at first, but it grew on me. Her battle theme was great fun, too.

Yep. Before, I think we still had plenty to still consider it. But now? Now it is truly dead.

The questions is this: if Rose is a standard Quarts soldier, where the FUCK does her rather insane and varied power-set come from? Nothing we have seen thus far explains this

And yeah, I think we should take a fact to heart: Rose is known for having a silver tongue. That, or she is one of those insanely sincere people whose sincerity and openness confuses the fuck out of everyone around her.
 
The Pink Diamond name-dropping is obviously a double-bluff. C'mon guys, this is A New Hope "Vader killed your father" level stuff. :p
 
Som many people seem to not like Smokey's design but I really like it. The only thing I don't like is the weird arm growth. Otherwise I love it.

Pretty much the only way it works is if Rose IS the corrupted from of Pink Diamond.


I'm sticking with the Lion = Corrupted Pink Diamond theory.
