there are a lot of misconceptions being spread about my man Meteos in this thread. Contrary to what many people here seem to claim, he is not a virgin - in fact, he is a highly successful E-sport athlete with razor-sharp wit and a 6+ figures income who has a huge following of thirsty fan-girls and/or boys and is getting laid every night. He loves all people, plus he's got the fat dick; It's like a gold prick, all shiny and thick

I'd post that Captain America iunderstoodthatreference.gif but I'm on mobile

I dont think thats bad... I have heard older people saying similar things during highly competitive games (card games, old man pickup bball etc)

It would be worse if he was one of those kids yelling 24/7 obscenities and threatening to murder noobs

Perfect.

Streamer didnt just forget his mom was next to him. Streamer forgot his mom in general.

Like, what is the obsession in this thread with 'getting pussy'. The casual way posters continue on saying it sounds pretty of gross.

Well it is not a big deal. It is just a weird thing to say.

It is a SUPER weird thing to say with your mom right next to you. She clearly agrees.

This thread has revealed she moderates his streams and apparently says stuff like that as well. The reason she left was to get food.

You don't know what you are talking about

You know you can lookup how much professional players actually make right? Meteos is sitting at ~$122k in winnings... over 4 years of pro play, or about $30k a year. Judging by his Twitch numbers comparable to others who have released their earnings, he's making maybe $75k-$125k a year from his channel at the absolute high end.

He's not 'making millions'. He's making in the low six figures, at most. More than likely he isn't breaking $100k a year. Only like the top 25 players in the world across all pro gaming 'make millions' and that's across dozens of tournaments and multiple years (and, fun fact, they're all DOTA 2 players). Meteos isn't even top 300.

So many people wrong in this thread, including OP + the title.

This streamer pretty much always talks this way (like it or not, it's on purpose and it's what gets him his views) and also often does it with his parents nearby. They laugh about it. His mom even plays the game as well. She doesn't look at him with disgust, she even smiles a second later before she walks off. To get food btw. She comes back a few minutes later with the food.
Man... that's pretty gross in its own way.

Plus the amount C9 pay him and the required salary Riot pay him. He's probably making mid hundred thousands. According to a former player/coach called Scarra the other day, the average player is being payed $100,000 or a bit more from this split onwards. Meteos is an above average player as his team constantly ranks top 3 NA.

LoL players don't make their cash through tournament earnings, they earn it through the salary by their teams/sponsorships which is something not seen in DotA as they only rely on tournament winnings. Plus from next year I'd expect tournament winnings to go up quite a bit as Riot this year finally added a mini-compendium like DotA has although this year they only added 1 skin and 1 ward skin. That 1 skin alone added a couple of million to the prize fund. And only 25% of what was made from that 1 skin was added to the prize fund. Imagine if they did multiple skins.

You're not factoring in his side gig as a highly desirable male gigolo whose fingers are every bit as attuned to delivering pleasure as they are lethal in competitive video games.

Times have changed... but a good slap on the back of the head there would've been expected in my day. I'm just sugar coating it, and I'm sure some will go crazy just for that.

couldn't imagine saying shit like that in front of my parents...realistically an asswhooping would've happened.

Lol money isnt in prize money. Stop quoting prize money when talking about lol players earnings.

It's like you only read the first sentence of that post...

I wonder where he's getting $100k in salary from, because Riot's split is only $25k a year and most teams don't pay salary so much as they cover all travel and living expenses.

The biggest portion of LOL player's earnings are actually from streaming, which is why I included/focused on that.

Outside sponsorships are generally not that lucrative money-wise, outside of rare exceptions. Cloud9's Kingston sponsorship is only about $1k per player - plus, obviously, a whole bunch of free shit.

But sure, he's still not making anywhere in the ballpark of millions. He's still making low six figures (maybe $250k a year), it just goes a lot further than you'd think because all of his bills are paid and he's getting a ton of free equipment/gear on top of that. And that's being one of the top players on one of the top teams. Almost every other pro player is making less than that.

Thought this would be a funny thread given the length. Click on a benign vid and see people trying to make fun of the guy who is just chillin hurting nobody cause he must be a virgin cause he plays video games all day!

Hes relatively rich and famous in his world which has a lot of women in it (streaming and league of legends). He probably has more success with women than a 34 year old calling people virgins on neogaf.

Found the video boring though

This thread is extremely weird. We have the entire spectrum of posts here.

We have the "lol virgin nerd get laid" post.

We have the "lol he rich he getting more pussy than u" post in response.

We have people trying to play it off as "just his persona" as if that somehow justifies it.

We also have people arguing that this kind of talk, and anything related to it, is "fair game" because at the end of the day it's all about the money/exposure and who cares how they act so long as it doesn't hurt the team.

We got the "haters gonna hate" attitude.

We had an evocation of "SJWs" in the literal (not ironic) sense.

And on top of all of this, this thread is over in Off-Topic.

This thread is an enigma wrapped in a tire fire.

I'm not sure I see the problem.

You can want to get pussy or dick (or both) and still view the owner of said genitals as a full human being with value, autonomy, and rights.

Should one include a disclaimer before any statement about wanting to get laid?

I mean, referring to it as "pussy" and "wanting to get that pussy" and "getting that pussy" is literally reducing said person down to a single anatomical part, so yeah, without context or a disclaimer it typically doesn't look that great.

Then we could jump into the arguments about how it makes assumptions about the person's sexual orientation (the virgin comments don't specify his sexuality, but the follow up does), etc. etc.

I mean we can have a nice ol conversation about that if we want.

Can you virgins keep it down? Trying to get some poontang here

Yo bro I got you, got some pootie tang for you right here:

What????? Every team pays their players. You're thinking of DotA not LoL...

Once the conversation elevates beyond drive-by shitposting, I sort of expect the intelligence and quality of dialogue to go up as well. I mean, it is quite fine to jocularly say it a few times, but when it frames so many conversations in the thread, then yeah, it is sort of gross.

Posted unironically.

The idol worship in here is amazing.

Hmmm, depends on what your definition of success is, one mans success is another mans,,,, well you know the rest.

But hey, what do i know, i just live in the real world, i have my own house, a missus, and 2 kids, but clearly i'm doing it wrong as i should be sat with my mum playing games on the internet whilst others watch me.

By the time this thread ends we'll all be in love with this guy

It seems he gets plenty of love already

I mean, even if most posts are negative, there's a 7 page thread in a pretty big forum full of people that never knew about him plus the lurkers That's what exposure is about. It certainly worked for him having his mom next to him for dank memes and the lulz.
