I never got to play SFIII as much as I would have liked to. I should grab a copy to own someday.

I think its a 6-4 matchup in Dudley's favour. I've had many awesome "parry or I'm dead" moments, but luckily people online are mostly predictable when you're in that situation.bob_arctor said:Interesting--is Hugo a tough match-up, generally, for Dudley? I only ask because I always seem to do well against Dudley's online. My biggest comeback would be parrying Ken's flaming Shoryuken, one that was coming off his wake-up since I had knocked him down. I purposely baited it out by standing close to him and after that it was Gigas City. I think I was down to my last sliver IIRC and had to parry otherwise it was death.
A successful walk-in Gigas is one of the best feelings in the world. Not only does it look cool, its hard to see coming and works a LOT.bob_arctor said:The buffered standing Gigas is dope. I've pulled it off a few times--it's worked best for me when I crossup w/ the his splash then land close w/ a standing LK. I buffer the 1st 360 in that LK and after that it's Gigas time.
Ryu1999 said:LOL at the 3rd Strike Balance comments. So you're saying Yun/Chun aren't still dominating the Japanese/US tourneys? People say Alpha 3 is the most imbalanced SF game but there are more tourney viable chars in that game (even by percentage) than in 3rd strike. Just Because RX/Ruu/Mountains of new Yang players CAN win doesn't mean the chars are equal just that they are so much better than the competition
Parry just lets the rich get richer
haunts said:You have to consider your audience here. Most people dont go/care about tournies, and the amount of work it takes to get that good with Chun/Yun is ridiculous anyway. I think to the average fan 3s is pretty balanced.
I've seen good players pick Sean for fun. You CAN do well with him, he's just worse then everyone else in the game.The-Switcher said:Is there such a thing as good Sean players?

Preferably not. There are already too many Ken / Ryu / Akuma players online._dementia said:The guy in your avatar

No way. Gill is a pussy compared to the cheapness of Jinpachi, especially once you get his retard version after you lose once or twiceSeiken said:I want to fucking kill Gill so hard... he's even harder than Jimpachi!

Holy shit, this is the best fighting game ever created.
Holy shit, Akuma is really not as overpowered as he was in Alpha 3.

bob_arctor said:I'll tell you this:
For all my Street Fighter life, I've been a Ryu guy. He was my main man, I loved him and I used him non-stop. Sure, I used other people and used them well, but in the end, no matter the Street Fighter I was playing, I always went back to Ryu.
And then came 3rd Strike. After countless hours and rounds, I have yet to play a single round with Ryu. Actually, wait, I did use him for a second right in the beginning but then I saw my girl Makoto and never looked back.
Now I can't stand shotos. They're boring as hell to me. Whenever I start beating someone badly with Hugo, I count down the seconds until they whip out Ken.
Even now, when I play older SF's, I always gravitate towards "different" playing characters--which is why I hope and pray Capcom will bring back Karin from Alpha 3.

How I generally do parrying is imagine I am the other character, and simply tap into the attack when I think I would execute it. That rule seems to work pretty well. You will also become pretty tuned with the timing and playing styles of other players this way.

This might impress me more than the Daigo v. Justin video. Just boggles my mind. Seems impossible to me.

Gill is too repetitive to be that hard. Once you figure out that he'll do a quick attack EVERY TIME he wakes up unless he has something to block, he becomes a breeze. Every time you knock him down, wait till EXACTLY when he gets up and do an invulnerable attack (a super, Ken's fierce shoryuken, etc). Once you get the timing right, he falls for it every time.Spirit of Jazz said:You mental, Jinpachi is basic pattern recognition and stupid A.I. Gill is constant onslaught of overpowered fierce low kicks and overheads, then when you finally beat him he goes and regens himself!
