And if I were to guess a nationality for C.Viper, it'd have to be Italian, but Wikipedia seems to think she's American. But really, they say that Abel is French, and there's nothing about him that would indicate that, either, aside from the possible reference to the flag on his outfit that could be easily missed.
Crimson Viper and Abel are for a fact from the United States of America and France respectively. There have been video's where their nationality was shown during the VS screen.

Crimson is using technology in her gloves and shoes to activate elemental attacks. She doesn't seem to have any ki related powers at all, which makes it very likely (along with the general style) that she's related to Shadaloo somehow. Crimson Viper, Killer Bee, that sort of thing.

I do hope we get a real name for her. It's quite important for character development. I mean, really, how much personality can you have if you're named Thunder?

Man, I remember being upset when he wasn't in the sequel. Looking back now, wtf was I thinking?

Ask any woman to do what Chun-Li does in pantyhose and they'd laugh at you. Doing what she does would tear them to string within seconds, and doing the splits in control-tops (which she is wearing) is a fucking impossibility.
We didn't seem to mind Cammy wearing a tie with a collared leotard, or the impracticality of wearing a fricking HAT that could fall off and obscure her vision while people are trying to make her unconscious.
Do you forget we're talking about STREET FIGHTER for a second? Let's get a frickin' grip, people.

Cammy tie was short, it would never block her vision.

Gigantic boobs hole Viper's tie in place.

As for the complaints about her pants not allowing her to fight... She wears only the best.

This game is amazing! Looking at screens for this game is like looking at keyframes for animation, since they exaggerate so much it looks so much more fluid and expressive in motion. Not to mention the great particle effects, head tracking, post-processing. This game is going to be amazing.

Its gonna be awesome get back into the groove with HD Remix, and then transition to this. THE 2-D Fighter IS BACK.

going a bit "Magic Johnson at the Slam Dunk contest" on us are yah? :p

Of course they will. Capcom has been doing only play ever since the Xbox (Capcom vs SNK 2: EO and Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection).
As I remember, Marvel vs Capcom 2 was the first to allow crossplatform on-line game with PS2 / Dreamcast / Arcade, a long time before the Xbox.

There were a lot of Capcom 2d Fighting games using on-line in Dreamcast, some of them only in Japan. Most of them used the subtitle "For matching service".

Whoa, you remember wrong. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was never online in any capacity for a home console.

As for the DC Matching Service games, all I can remember is ST, Vampire Savior, Alpha 3 and Puzzle Fighter.

Facial expressions are the one thing I would hope that the 360 and PS3 era would bring. While sports games are still way behind in this regard, I'm glad to see it in this game. It's cartoony in a good way.

I still don't care anything about this game.

You obviously care enough to post in a Street Fighter 4 thread.

By the way, thanks for letting all of us know your opinion. Our lives are now complete.

I remember well. It wasn't labeled like the other games as "For matching service" but Marvel Vs Capcom 2 had online game (only in Japan) using this service.

In fact it was the first PS2 game to have it (so it was bundled with a 56K modem), and also the first PS2-Dreamcast-Arcade(Naomi) cross play.

Just a source (IGN sucks):

E. Honda has nipples now. But what is the deal with that beer belly six pack?

He's always had the "muscle gut" thing going on. I had a poster of this cover from an old issue of Nintendo Power

I find it amusing that some here are thinking that the developers have improved the models and / or the textures by quite a lot with these screenshots, even though this really isn't the case. The build from a few weeks ago hardly changed (as they've 'only' improved the colors, the lighting and some environmental details), BUT there's no denying that this is a noticeable step forward by itself.

I dunno. Some things look a bit better.

Note (in the shots you provided):
- Chun's face.
- Ken's forearms, face, folds in his pants, and new stich details in his gi.
- Guile's facial animation. Less exageration.

I want Chun-Li's model tweaked a bit... She needs to be less wide, (I love her thighs, though!), a bit longer at the mid-section, (shorten her a bit to make up for this), and her arms need to be toned down just a bit. THEN she'll be perfect.

Ryu looks a lot like his SF3-self. Love it.
Ken face needs a bit more tweaking. It just needs to be a tiny bit shorter; it looks a bit too long.
Guiles hair should be slightly taller.

Pretty please, Capcom? If you make Chun-Li look a bit better, I'll love you forever. :D

Ok someone has gotta tell me what Sagat Remix that is in the Gametrailers focus on Abel's moves. That was just great. Unless it's the SF IV version for Sagat's stage...then I guess i'll have to wait.

Do we know what specs SF4 is running?

I know it's Taito FX2 hardware, but Taito FX2 encompasses a large range of CPUs and Video cards...

Any one know yet?

Game is looking alot better now. Being a SFIII fan, I am glad they're improving how the game looks. The old screenies didn't have that 'street fighter' feel.

Reposted for awesomeness:

Ok thats decided, Abel is going to be one of my new mains along with Ryu and Ken.

Also that music in his moves trailer at Gametrailers BETTER be the music for Sagat's SFIV stage.

So they added "awesome shade" now! O_O

Holy fucking crap... notice that in some screens there´s some black ink, just like the trailer.

If they add Makoto this game will be perfect! :D

wut

SF4 runs on Taito's TypeX2 hardware, and there is only one version (you must be confusing TypeX2 with TypeX and TypeX7).

Specs here: http://www.typex.taito.jp/feature3.html

Also MvC2 worked online for both DC and PS2... in Japan.

I would be interested in knowing this as well. If I had to guess, the hardware is probably comparable to the X360/PS3 (maybe C2D, 7900 GS). However, VF5 looks great and runs on a measly 6800 GT.

Check your own link. The Type X2 platform supports a number of different hardware configurations (memory capacity, CPUs, video cards).
