Street Fighter V Beta Thread: Welcome, future '16ers! (Currently Inactive!)

This unacceptable Capcom! I have spent the last 15 hours hitting every button on my arcade stick trying to log in. I bought a 200$ arcade stick, pre ordered on amazon, quit my job, left my wife all for this beta. Here is my list of demands to rectify this terrible customer service.

  • I want SFV and all DLC FREE on both PS4 and PC
  • Free PS4 just in case my own dies
  • Every SFV arcade stick one month before store release.
  • Free trip to Japan and 4 week training with Diago (hotel and food included)
  • A spot in the Capcom Pro Tour Finals
  • 5 round bye in the Capcom Pro Tour Finals
  • Free trip to EVO 2016 (hotel and food included)

Capcom, I don't know how much you know about FGC culture, but I'm an expert. If you don't give me all of this I will forget about it in a week and still buy SFV. Thank you for your time.

I was waiting for this. Bless you lol

That's a pretty nasty attitude bro. Companies would provide as little as possible in their games if they can get away with it; and yet the people that actually buy the products don't get to ask for as much as they can get?

Plus I actually am enitled to a free PS4 if mine dies. Warranty and all that.

Pretty sure dude is just compiling all the funny posts from this thread into one massive complaint.

Sorry fellas - disagree with "well it's a beta what do you expect?"

I expect what they told me to expect, which is to pre order, download a game, go into training and test out net play.

That was the expectations set. Stress testing is part of alpha phases and near release phases. This wasn't a stress test. They fucked up. End of story

Would also like to point out the fact that we could go offline in training mode - it's up to them.

No, they found a problem.
You did your job as a beta tester. You may sleep well now.
Training is not the goddamned point.
This is not for people to learn the game early, THAT would be a demo.
This is to look for bugs, and so far it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.
The game needs to be connected to the network full time to return information and bugs. Giving training mode at this point would not allow that.
If someone can not differentiate between a beta and a demo, they sure as hell can not be trusted to submit bug reports themselves.

9/10

Can we really blame people for having a warped idea of what a beta is when the industry as a whole has trivialized the term? A vast majority of betas are basically glorified demos at this point.

They truly are. And all the alpha/beta's that actually have a lot of issues (that I've participated in anyways) are usually behind NDA's so you can't even talk about them.

It's a beta. If you didn't see this coming I'm disappointed in you. I am enjoying this clusterfuck though as I play 3s
alone

Really annoying how much the word "entitled" is being thrown around in this thread. -_-

Those aren't actual responses though? Right?

It's just riffing on entitled gamers?

Some of them are, or at least variations. Some dude said he left his girlfriend for this beta. He could've been joking too though, no way to really know on the Internet.

Please nerf. Post is too OP.

Mutha Fucking THIS. so on point with that reply.

It's more annoying that 90% of the thread is just people complaining and someone saying "it's a beta, not a demo" over and over again.
The complaints are pretty justified. Entitled is just a really childish response to people pointing out their irritation that this beta test so far has been a disaster, that's what it is, this isn't par for the course, especially not for the "pre-order for beta access" style demos of games. Pointing out that you're frustrated isn't entitled. Who is even asking for anything on top of their complaints?

Not really sure how a beta can be a disaster if it catches an issue before the launch of the game, especially in this instance. Is it catching the issues Capcom intended? Probably not. But I don't think that automatically makes it a disaster.

No, they are not.
People who pre-ordered are experiencing a beta (how does it feel being part of the magic?) and they will get in the beta, as it has been said that it will be extended.
The beta test has NOT been a disaster, it has been a roaring success.
It found a hell of a problem that would have been terrible on release day.
Frustrated is ok, but your level of frustration is all on you. If you understood what to expect you would be disappointed, but you would know that this kind of shit happens and that it is for the greater good.
Those that were ONLY focused on getting to play the game first before other people and bodying people as soon as they could, well yeah you will be pretty frustrated.

On point.

Is the beta tied to accounts or will the code work for someone else and let them play in my place?.

I know in past betas where they tie them to accounts so even if you get a code from someone you still cant play unless you have been selected.

Although I agree with most you are saying but one thing. Demos are not to get to "know the game" it's to see if it would be worth a purchase or avoid this turd like the fucking plague. Other than that yes beta beta fuck everyone's plans.

Catching a major issue like this before you can collect the data that you wanted to collect in the first place. It's a pretty big setback in what is supposed to be a limited period of time for testing.

Yea i'm sure the devs at capcom are saying "this is going great so far." /s Also you should go back and read the thread before saying this to me.

If this was a roaring success than Ono probably wouldn't be so apologetic and the beta wouldn't be suspended. Preventing them from testing things that they wanted to test like unlocking content like characters more easily.

Less than 24 hours and we already have this

Kind of funny that people are calling this beta a success. Capcom didn't even get to test what they actually wanted to test. So, it didn't even fulfill its purpose because they couldn't even get that far. =P

I'm pretty sure the purpose wasn't "Oh shit, this won't even start!" because they could have done that shit themselves. =P

Exactly, this beta is for the devs first and gamers second. That will hopefully make the game better for gamers in the long run. I'm sure it will.

I don't see SFV up on Twitch anymore so I assume the beta never came back online last night.

I definitely understand this aspect. I rush ordered a stick to make sure that it would be delivered in time and made sure to have Thursday, Friday and Saturday off of work and canceled going out of state for a 40k tourney,
I just want the game to be as good as it can be, and in the long run this is nothing.

unless i missed something SF5 isn't going to be 'always online' we found a problem that only effects the BETA ..... so all the white knight apologists can at least get their facts right

According to some here people over at capcom have considered this beta a rousing success. "Hey, we got SOMETHING, it wasn't anything we intended and we had to postpone this beta in order to fix it, but alright, DATA!"

Can't really agree with that however knowing the gaming public and the fact that the title is a year off.
Gamers tend to be spiteful. ._. If the other two tests run flawlessly then the positivity would come back in full force.

Reading Comprehension...How do it work?

This is a closed beta, intended strictly to test out netcode and content delivery, so there is no local play or other features (i.e. Fight Money).

The addict in me booted it up again. They must be doing something with it right now because it goes to the title screen again and you can attempt login.
