Street Fighter V: Character Introduction Series

Welcome to the Street Fighter 5 Champion Spotlight featuring Ken: The Blonde Guy

Seriously though they seem to have taken quite a few ideas from Lol for this game. Good ideas though so I don't have an issue with it.

Damn, that almost sold me on Nash...

So many appealing characters to try out! Gonna have a tough time feeling out a main in training mode/challenges.

Completely random question: How does the cross-platform work in SFV? Can I get it on PC, and play with my PS4 friends? I'd really rather not buy a new fightstick lol.

So I'll be able to just invite my friends to a room? YES

They haven't confirmed that but given that there's an option called "battle lounge" in the final game and the fact that we were able to search for players using their fighter ID in the beta, it's a safe bet.

Great. :) I'll just wait for it to come out and confirm that, then purchase it. Thanks a bunch, guys.

F.A.N.G. looks very painful to fight. That poison looks brutal and we are going to have to rush him down to even do anything. I hate the character design still but I can see myself breaking a controller or two fighting him. That's not even sarcasm because I hate fighting zoners with DOT. I imagine he can't do much when you are in his face so R Mika can probably eat him alive if she absorbs the poison with her v skill.

I think he also has really low health but someone else needs to confirm that

"I think he also has really low health but someone else needs to confirm that"

The stat pentagon on the SFV website has him at 3/5 health, equal to Ryu.

I don't believe you can absorb FANG's v-skill. It applies to you if it touches you at all. It's not a traditional fireball that puts the opponent in block or hit stun, you can walk right through it, but it will apply to you regardless.

Yes, unless something has changed since Combo and Mike Ross demo'd him, FANG's poison applies if it touches you and lasts until it runs out or you hit him.

FANG poison looks really slow so I wouldn't worry about it being the primary form of damage. If you get poisoned, just play as usual and don't get in a rush to hit him. Cool heads will prevail.

Still standing by my assessment that, to get use of FANG's poison you need to abuse white (block) damage. Poison eliminates it, turning the game into MK1 style damage.

I think poison will mostly fuck with characters used to trade damage. Zangief may be in a disadvantage, given how much of his good moves trade and then recover damage (don't really remember if poison eats the recovery too. Should check the ross/fiend video but eh). But Zangief has a kiloton of health so again, cool heads will win.

I don't believe this is the case. It doesn't eliminate white health, what it does is directly remove green health and prevent the regeneration of white health.

Mmm. Dunno if this really changes my position tho; FANG looks like he needs to keep the pressure to make use of poison, instead of sitting back and just trying to counter what the opponent does. Forward poison ball doesn't hit so once the opponent is poisoned, he can walk through it; arced poison balls that actually hit may be moved under so fang players will have extra work to keep the enemy away.

I think he'll end up being played not too dissimilar to...Poison in USF4, but without amazing invincible backdash or backflip. Controlling neutral with long range normals and unconventional fireballs that you have to play around. Fang can still throw the arced fireballs such that they fall right next to him, so you can't simply walk under them all the time.
