Look at it this way, now she has two great themes. Most SF characters have none.

Ken's is still as amazing as ever.

But it doesn't quite go with everything. Also, it kind of just sounds like a track from the SF CD where they were all metal.

These tracks remind me A LOT of the remixed tracks on the 3DO version of SSF2T (my all time favorite SF music). Many people bitched about how the tracks "sucked" and sounded "fruity", but this is like a more expanded version of those tracks.

That's because she's grown up now and her old theme doesn't really fit her anymore. I'm a huge fan of the old theme but I have to admit that it would have been odd had they used it again.

why is karin the only one that ages?

If I were still playing SFA3, then I would look at it this way. But I'm not... so I was really looking forward to hearing that theme get the same sort of treatment the other returning characters got.

I guess another way to look at it, is that nobody's Alpha 3 theme has anything to do with their main themes... so that game's soundtrack seems to be its own thing, and they see it that way even for characters that originated from it.

Hillside Plaza and Kanzuki Estate both sound good, but just like SF4 the stage themes are straight up outclassed.

I'll be honest, I was never a big fan of Karin's A3 theme, so this new theme is a godsend. It's magnificent.

The soundtrack so far alone has me hoping for Guile and Sakura to be announced in some way shape or form.
Street Fighter ex3 still holds the title of my favorite fighting game soundtrack, but this one is shaping up to be just as good.

I think the real music people want to hear is training stage. Since we will be hearing so much of it.

Karin's does sound like something from Persona or X-Men vs SF/MvC2 (yuck), although not as terribad as MvC2.

Bison's is kind of over the top, but in a good way. It's very energetic.

You kind of could in SF4, although it seemed to always play player 2's music eternally.

Ken, Claw, Ryu, Chun SFV > SFIV

Cammy SFIV > SFV

the art and sound direction in this game just blows SFIV out of the water

Alot of the sound effects in V are ass and lack oomph, especially the blocks, i'll take the IV stage themes over V as well easily....

Vega's theme got DAMN. Ken's is great, Ryu's is great, Cammy's was weird but then it got good. I still like Cammy's but her SF4 theme is one of my favorites.

Not a fan of Karin's or Bison's at all.

As far as FG themes on 8th gen consoles go, it'll be hard to top Mick Gordon's stuff in KI.

At least it's better than SF4...

The remixes in SF4 were fantastic, as were the originals. The temple stage was always hype, as was the overpass.

This does feel like a huge step-up from SFIV for me. That being said, the visual and audio aspect of that game was always pretty awful in my opinion. That being said, I did dig Cody's theme in SFIV (WAY more than his Alpha 3 music). I will be interested to hear what that sounds like in SFV. Generally, I hope as much Final Fight music makes it in as possible, that game has an amazing soundtrack.

The character themes are so much better than the stage ones it's ridiculous. The Kanzuki Estate theme is really good, and Waterfall is passable, but the other three are hot garbage. I cannot wait until the game releases so I can switch.
