Street Fighter V is coming to Linux and will have native Steam Controller support.

Pokken controller all the way

That pad is awful, they dropped the ball not using a pro controller or stick.

But that means you have to lift your thumb up when you don't want your character to move. Holding your hand in that positon causes fatigue after a while. On a dpad you can just let your thumb rest.

The Steam controller works the same way, by default you need to press down the trackpad to register the d-pad input. So you can rest your thumb on the trackpad and press for input like you would with a traditional d-pad.

True. Also, you can expand the deadzone and successfully rest you thumb when its set to touch.

The fake steam controller dpad is actually really good for a disc dpad style of usage and maybe less so if it's expected to feel like a cross shaped pad.

I like both types of pads and I now think steam controller dpad is one of the best I've used. Faking face buttons on the touch pad is not as good, tho.

With PS4/PC cross play, the type of controller combinations will be nuts. DualShock 4 vs. Steam controller, Fightstick vs. FightPad, etc. I'm sure someone will master the keyboard. Luffy will find a way to use his PS1 controller. SFV is gonna be so fun.

Super glad to see more major Linux releases. (I'll double dip my PS4 copy if I can transfer my account purchases and stuff!)

I don't think it's confirmed, but I'm pretty sure that it will work through the Capcom Fighters Network, making it a "purchase once, use anywhere" type thing.
