Street Fighter V - Menat trailer

Oh, and I... really feel like most of the "ink" effects in V are just a lazy holdover from IV's previous art direction. But I do like how Menat's color of choice makes hers look like clumps of sand.

Yeah, I dunno you have stuff like Chun's looking more like water and stuff like that. I like the ink effect and that it's individualized. Out of all the little things I have with the art direction the ink stuff isn't one of them.

And the Menat fan art just keep on coming in.

The default color is so damn good, which is great because of how often people end up using it in tournaments.
Actually, lots of tournament players like to go with their favorite colors &/or costumes. It could be the default, sure, & some tournaments like ELeague only allow the default. But you'll likely see a variety of Menat's costumes & colors at majors.

Haunts' blog post...I know it's probably just a typo...

And don’t forget, the SFV Season 2 Character Pass is available for $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99 and will grant pass holders with Akuma, Kolin, Ed, Abigail, Menat and an addition brand new fighters to be announced later this year. The pass comes with Premium Battle Costumes with colors 3-10 unlocked and default costume colors 3-10 for each character. Additionally, Season 2 Character Pass holders will receive an exclusive PS4 theme!

Considering he already put a singular an before what I'm guessing should have been additional, yeah it's probably a typo.

Did they get around the issue of having to unlock colors? That was the main reason why everyone used color 1 back when I was following the game more closely.

Way too pricey for just 6 characters and some costumes. Plus it being exclusive to only one account on your system and other accounts can't use your bought season pass sucks so I just stick to Fight Money for few select characters

Also she doesn't have the traditional big SF feet and hands, and that's because she attacks with her orb.

I dunno man, she has normals that dont use the orb and she can send it out too. What i really hope is they just did it for aesthetic reasons lol. Gives me hope they'll tone that shit down from here on out

$5 is very reasonable for a fighting game character.

ASW stuff is visually pleasing, stylish, and clean as fuck.

But yes SF has always had better animation when it came to being smooth and fluid since SF3/vsav

What they do and go for work for the style of gameplay they each have

King of Fighters XIV charges $5.99 a character. But yes, fight money is even better.

The ink effects are some of my favorite visual designs in this game. I really like that everyone has their own color/colors, it works well and looks nice. Def wouldn't call it lazy.

I like her default best.

Except for the "the characters kinda look like clay" aspect, it's just not rooted in anything here, or at least not much. It was awesome how IV had the whole ink effect, as if they were hinting at the 2D origins of their now 3D-modeled series. The intro solidified the look, and the focus attacks on start and hit and such emphasized it. It was awesome how it actually effected the hit target for a second too. It was a theme that helped solidify the game's effect style.

I guess my disappointment with how it's been carried out stems from the fact we all thought it'd really mean something when the game was first revealed. Like characters would each have elements they'd tap into, and the effects would be a visual power-up that ties into the attack element. Instead of just being "colored paint blobs", they'd have been after-effects of wind, fire, earth, water, lightning, etc. So instead of Guile having blobs around him as he combs his hair, you'd have his mastery of wind / creating sonic booms showing off from the moment he spins his comb (causing sonic ripples in the air), and then his "sweeps" of the comb through his hair could super-straighten it, tossing about a sheering wind element, explaining his ridiculous
ly awesome
haircut.

Maybe "lazy" is a bit strong, but it just feels like a weaker version of something that should be more deeply rooted.

Yeah, this is definitely good. Now we just have to hope she's solid enough, and lacking in glitches, to actually make people WANT to use her in tourneys!

I've enjoyed the ABI-GAAAAIL upsets I've seen on streams, hopefully she can provide similar incentives for play in her early days.

Literally every fighting game that releases dlc characters releases them anywhere from $4 and up, most around the $6 range, and most don't give you a non cash option to utilize...

You can buy the colors in bulk via Fight Money or real money. On top of that, not only do Premium Costumes now include the first 10 colors, but Character Pass owners automatically get the first 10 colors for the default costumes of the characters in said Character Pass.

Damn, that's awesome!

People don't consider how much work goes into fighting games characters, instead they compare it to shooting games, sports...etc where it's not much but a skin change.

You're giving those devs far too much credit. 5 bucks for a character is extortion. Look at how easy it is to animate:

So far all DLC newcomers have been pretty good. Abigails initial reception had some unfortunate circumstances, but he's nothing short of being awesome.

Hopefully there is going to be a WSO stream, to get some information ahead of the release.

find out tomorrow, in-game, lol

Yeah, nothing worrying about that.

The character is around 24 hours from being released and all we have is the reveal trailer and a blog post about her V Skill and V Trigger.

Yep, nothing to worry about here ...at all. Nope.

The CFN (Capcom Fighters Network) site might have it up at some point.

I think it was like that for Abigail too, but his movelist might have shown up prior.

Please inform the more rational people in this thread what we should be worrying about.

They usually have them up like the day after the reveal or even the same day if it's a weekday. I just want to know if she has some charge moves (doubt it) because I want more charge characters...

No offense but you should really try to keep up with a game before you post about it. Capcom always does this.
