Street Fighter V Roster Discussion: P-P-P-P-PATTERN BREAKER

In the US
SFIV was Feb 17
MvC3 was Feb 15
SFxT was Mar 6

I am certain we will get a release date at the NYCC panel. February is a good month for release as it gives players sometime to get familiar with the game before the CPT 2016 season starts in March.

And I am guessing Capcom will sustain the hype through January by announcing 2 DLC characters that are free for people who buy the game within 2 weeks/Day One Edition.

I think a Story Mode blowout at PlayStation Experience would do the trick.

I wish they would use non-rendered artwork for these characters. What they are doing right now just doesn't look good to me. Akiman would have been a great choice.

you wish

(so do I .__.)

wasn't a fan of the SFIV portrait or most of the key/promo/render art either but I keep coming across and loving old pieces. this franchise (and FGs in general) has seen some seriously incredible artwork in its history.

Lol Urien is not mexican. Stop

this is why this thread sucks tbh. people are speculating, and no matter how much you qualify your statements, someone's gonna scarecrow what's being said and bash it or obnoxiously point out the obvious. no one actually said he's some full blooded mexican or whatever. stop. at least quote what you're drive-by dismissing so that we can determine which whacky idea (there are tons in here, which is the point) you're shooting down.

My money is on mid-February.

I hope so! I would love it for that date posted on PSN to turn out to be true lol

yea yea i should have quoted. chill

This, we could get the game as soon as January 2016.

I am expecting February or March. It would be nice a January release, but I don't think it's happening.

If PSE didn't have the Capcom Cup with it, I would agree. My guess is that they will talk DLC characters at PSE/Capcom Cup.

I don't see Capcom talking only story mode in a competitive event.

capcom cup would be a good time to talk about online modes and how stuff like rankings are gonna work. we know they have leagues and shit now, and CFN is gonna need some more info

I hope they do 2/3 sets for ranked. Matches go really fast, and after playing Rising Thunder it should be a mandatory feature for all fighting games in ranked games.

Yeah, I kinda liked that. For game with quick matches, you spend much more time searching. Plus it gives you a chance to adapt. Somewhat off-topic, buy KI really needs it for that reason.

anyone have arguments against 2/3? it takes longer, but the game seems brisk, and even if it weren't, I think it's fair to put in some time/effort for points, since it's ostensibly a showcase of your skill.

i think they could give an option to concede after the first match in cases of mismatches/salt/etc. character lock is fine with me. if you're getting fucked in a bad matchup it gives you some more practice at least.

They should allow for a rematch option and whoever initiates it can set a Fight Money amount you play for.

Maybe an argument against would be if if it slows down the process of earning money for unlocks. More matches, more might money.

Fight money betting has to happen.

that's going to bring so much hype/attention, too. I'd love to catch streams of people betting huge amounts. they'd have to figure out some kind of account authentication, though. I guess CFN would have to have its own account and extra restrictions/steps to enable betting fight money.

Even just playing USFIV and never having played Rising Thunder I think 2/3 ranked matches would be a good idea. One and done just isn't that fun and you'e very rarely able to learn anything from one game.

It's interesting, but for me it presents more problems than its worth. I'd never bother, and it could encourage exploits.

This too. It will be something that deeply interests the competitive scenario and story mode isn't something like that.

Ya exploiting this kinda stuff would be bad, but im sure Capcom could work something out.
I kinda enjoy watching fighting games more than actually playing so some kind of betting feature would totally kill it.

I wouldn't want any kind of betting in ranked. If people wanted to do in in lobbies, then that's fine.

I only play ranked because it ideally matches you up based on skill. I just want to play someone near the same level without any nonsense.

Just spoke with the CapcomFighters streamers, the Karin build of SFV won't be shown for another hour. The first hour will be for USF4.

at best a stage, IMO. I don't see them showing nothing for the fans in mexico, but most likely not a character. I'd be butthurt if I showed up and there was literally nothing new showcased, after all the big reveals elsewhere. Hell I'm even keeping my hopes down for for NYCC now that I'm planning to go.

So if SimSim saying is true, what do guys think? They might sneak surprise us with a random classic returning character announcement.

Eh maybe maybe not
Keep in mind that Rashid and Karin didn't get revealed early.
I think that for the Brazilian fanbse they will reveal their Brazilian character during BGS.
Unless...
the new character ISN'T BRAZILIAN
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!
