Just recalled Akuma being in some of Ono's tweet teases and of course the mention to Jin in the first trailer (was thinking about who's obviously gonna be in). Ganryu got deconfirmed too.

Lupinko said it has more characters than UMVC3, but we're at 48 now so we're really close to the full list. This is all not counting the cats and Cole too.

I've never heard of Joe supposedly being slated to appear in Final Fight, but he was going to be in Street Fighter Alpha 3 as the jailbreak character, but then Capcom decided to give that storyline to Cody.

But Joe & Cody are still two separate characters, regardless of their swapping story roles.

Mind you Joe and Cody do look alike (and that partially has to do with Japan thinking anyone from the US or europe has blonde hair and blue eyes), and from the SF Plot FAQ-

Capcom based some of Cody's fighting moves off of Joe's.

Joe is a master of "back-strike" martial arts, which seems to be using
moves like the backfist which Guile often uses, and the rolling sobat which
is a shorter version of Dee Jay's double rolling sobat (aka the double dread
kick). He is described as a "Back Champion".

Mike and Joe are rumored to be the fighters at the intros of SF2, SF2
Dash, and SF2 Dash Turbo, from Cap!#13 and the SF2 Gamest pre-mook. Rumored
because CJ has stated neither that they are nor that they aren't.

Like other SF characters, it's unknown where his stage exactly is. It
looks like a Chicago or New York trainyard (sorta like the trainyard in
Final Fight Streetwise). It also seems that the Empire State Building and
the Chrysler Building are both in the stage's backdrop, towards the left.

I actually think they should set up a plot line between Cody & Joe. But basically I just want Joe (along with Eagle and Geki) back into the main Street Fighter spot light.

It has been confirmed that you can play without choosing any gems, so banning gems from tourneys will be an easy task if the determination to point the middle finger at Capcom is there. Then again there are so many problems with the gameplay of this game right now even without gems that there's no guarantee anyone will be interested in playing this competitively in the first place.

What Capcom cares about in the end of the day is the number of copies sold, with both the street fighter and tekken name I don't think it will be difficult for this game to meet its sales target (at a conservative 2 million).

Guile is designed off a character from the 2nd JoJo series
Rose is Lisa Lisa from the 2nd JoJo series as well
Juri's hairstyle and chest wear is based off Jolene from the 6th JoJo series
