Stuff you can't unhear in certain songs

And the cool one.

In the Rolling Stones song "Gimme Shelter", the female vocalist repeats the line "Rape, murder! It's just a shot away. It's just a shot away" three times towards the end of the song. On the third time, her voice noticeably cracks when she screams "murder" - if you listen closely, you hear someone yell "Woo!" in the background. That would be Mick Jagger (lead vocalist) shouting out his encouragement for the female vocalist singing with such passion. Thought that was pretty cool.

The "Woo!" occurs at the 3:03 mark.

Rolling Stones: Gimme Shelter

Here's another cool one: In the intro of Spanish Caravan by The Doors they had cymbal crashes, but since experimentation was the big thing back then they decided to do something interesting with it, so John Densmore made 'pssssh' sounds with his mouth and it ended up on the album.

Every time I hear that song Black Widow by Iggy and Rita Ora, I don't hear "black widow baby" but instead hear "black wittle baby"

Hate that song. -_-

I see this is a thread more about musical details, but I also see others have interpreted it the way I did initially - hearing something that isn't being said in lyrics and then being unable to unhear it. With that said, I can't not post EGG WHITES

There's a urban legend in Germany about the Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in the Wall".

The story goes that there was a principal in a boys boarding school that would occasionally abduct students, take them to his attic and sexually abuse them there. Every time he would take a boy the other students would say "He's taking one under the roof again".

Now a couple years later he wasn't a principal anymore but made a career in the music industry and worked as a sound engineer for Pink Floyd. During his work on the song, he would be found hanging in his attic. No one knew why he would kill himself and there were no signs that he was suicidial. His work on the song was finished though but after releasing the single Pink Floyd noticed something odd. The chorus where the children sing "All in all it's just a..." sounded weird. They couldn't figure out why but when a german friend of theirs heard the song, he asked them why they would put a german line in the song. Pink Floyd of course confused didn't know what he was talking about so the German told them that the children clearly sing "Hol ihn, hol ihn unters Dach [nother Brick in the wall]". Which is german for "Take him, take him under the roof".

As crazy as this story is, I actually believed it when I was a small child and would shit my pants whenever I heard the song. To this day I always hear the line as "Hol ihn hol ihn unters Dach" whenever I listen to this song. To be fair though, it really does sound more like that than "all in all it's just a...".

Not me personally, but a friend of mine hears "bolognese" instead of "fallen leaves" by Billy Tallent. Sometimes I can hear it, sometimes I can't. Depends on the source.

I hear the same thing too. Doesn't help that the music during that part of the song sounds baby-ish, like something you'd hear from a toy in a crib.

lol this got ruined for me at Atlanta Pride last year. Was hanging out with some friends when this song hit and all of them yelled that. It's all I think about when I hear the song now.

I'm not normally a fan of Yelawolf but I really liked Till It's Gone because, somehow, I wasn't hearing that horrendous-sounding gameboy explosion sound effect sound that they keep using through all the verses. Now that I've noticed it, it's all I hear and it completely ruins the song for me.

"Cobain can you hear the spears singing songs on specialist stations."
I figured it was some indictment of modern music, it isn't.
Listening on half decent headphones has made me notice a lot of breathing on some songs - specifically 'Meet you on the other side' by David Gray but lots of others.

2:05-7 Hard to hear if you're headphones are crap.

Cellphone ringtone in a 1982 song

Now I know I'm not crazy. I'm always ripping me headphones off during that song and scrambling for my phone (which has a generic ring) before it can wake up my roommate.

I think it's on another one of their songs too, can't remember which one though.
"

That is super clear to hear. I hear it all the time in the car, that entire verse has the cell phone noise, drove me nuts the first time I noticed it.

Also the last lines of the song, sounds to me like I says something about mental retardation and even slurs his words on purpose.

Quiet Houses from Fleet Foxes I swear the refrain is "Donkey Land, Donkey Land, DON...KEY...LAND!" I don't know what the actual lyric is, but I can't hear it any other way.

Love Jack Johnson but in Cocoon he straight up just peppers in blah blah. May be the laziest or oddest lyrical choice. Even my daughter thinks it's weird.

You said this was all you had
And it's all I need
But blah blah blah
Because it fell apart and
I guess it's all you knew
And all I have
But now we have
Only confused hearts and
I guess all we have
Is really all we need

When I was younger I downloaded a Homestar Runner system sounds pack. One of these, when you received an error message, was Homestar saying "Oops, you bwoke it." Fast forward a few years to when I discovered Ladytron. On the song "High Rise," there's one specific note that occurs once in the song that sounds exactly like that sound bite of Homestar saying "oops."

Oops, you bwoke it.

Ladytron - High Rise. The sound in question is at 2:58. I'll never be able to unhear it.

Oh, and the Sector 5 (ARC) music in Metroid Fusion. There's a phrase there that makes me think of Barbie Girl by Aqua every time I hear it.

The repeating chorus in Amoeba by the Adolescents (Which is simply Amoeba) sounds a lot like Tony Hawk...

Hahaha, I remember thinking the same thing and I totally forgot about it until now. I can't stop laughing.

That "Black Widow" (Katy Perry? Iggy Azalea? I think) song...

I hear "Black wit a baby" every single time, instead of "Black widow baby"
