I know a lot of gamers out there don't have much patience. 'least that's what Bishop, the dude at the video store said. So I'm at the register, and then I realize - I got no money. I was seriously broke! Why? 'Cause I met this smoking hot chick last night at the deathmatch bar. Man! She smelled good. So being the gentleman I am, I bought her a drink. Anyhoo, I decide to get a job. The gig: assassinate The Drifter. So I went where I was supposed to, and waited for the guy to show up, and there he was; this cat - well dressed, cool - couldn't tell if he was the shit, or just plain ol' shit. Yeah, so he's styling, fast, aggressive and packin' heat. Bada bing. Or at least it was supposed to be, 'til she showed up. Her name? Sylvia Christel, an agent with this whatchamacallit organization.

Congratulations. You are certified as the 11th best hitman. How about getting rid of the ten killers above you, and aim for the top?

I want to be number one. How's that? Short and simple enough for you?

It's gonna be a long, hard road. But who knows? Could kick ass. Could be dangerous. Could totally suck. What'ya say bro - join me, let's see how far we can take this.

I find it hard to believe the game that doesn't even use the motion controls that great and could easily work and maybe be better without them was made just because of the wii's motion controls.

There is so much wrong in this i dont even...

Yeah there's so much wrong. I mean No More Heroes 2 dosen't have a non-motion controls option.

Oh wait.

Or does moving your hand up and down with little enthuasim count as good to you?

Miming slashing is fun. That's it. Nobody thinks it's incredibly accurate or some revelatory design. In a game as over the top as NMH I find it a lot more entertaining to slash the Wii Remote around than I do to press a button.

Damn, this thread just cost me monies 'cause I ordered NMH on PS3. Can't wait to replay.

Oh, you dun goof'd. One of the worst ports of all time and pure agony to play.

Fair enough. That dosent strike me as fun in my opoinion. It's more of a nausence.

Well each to their own. IMO play acting is fun in games like this.

Should have waited for the US/EU release. It's fixed and has added content.

Sometimes I buy things without checking the internets. This is one of those times. Damn it.

Fuck it, I'll try and play. When the EU version comes out, I'll get that too if it's fixed. Such a whore for the first game.

Also, Kozaki's character designs are GOD. He's bar-none my favorite new designer of this generation, the man can make incredible personalities.
He isn't new.

100 assassins you actually fight 10.

And no-one gave a shit about that control option.

I love it when people try to spin things like this. Adding "with little enthusiasm" is some teleshopping-grade shit right there.

Anyhoo... thread reminded me how much i liked the jp boxart. Been fooling around with Photoshop and its looking okay so far. Need to do the back of it now :/

^^^^ That boxart is awesome.

And anyone saying the classic controller was better for NMH has no idea what they're talking about. Lay off the Cheetos and Diet Coke, few games have made it feel so good to slice someones head off as NMH did.

I am baffled by the complaints of NMH2, its not as bad as people are suggesting. It feels too much Hyperbole in this thread.

NMH shouldn't exist because of its gameplay. It should have been a visual novel because the story and and the characters. NMH2 refined it to make it a closer to video game.

I really hope this is another indication that Nintendo's next console is on the way relatively soon because I want this freakin' game.

Um who are you to say no one cared about that option? Just because you didn't like it dosent mean it wasn't used.

And Im not sure who's spinning anything. "With little enthuasim" perfectly describes my experiance with the motion controls.

Anywho it's obvious you don't have much to say, so I'll just stop talking to you.

Surprised so many people like NMH1 better than the sequel. Nostalgia or something? They definitely half-assed some areas in NMH2, but they half-assed a lot more in the first game.
I dunno.

I can accept the game was okay, but even while playing it, I was bored to tears. It just didn't have the same kind of feel that I liked about the original game. It felt like a straight-to-DVD sequel.

I think it became too obvious that they were doing things intentionally to throw off the player, whereas NMH came by those same moments naturally. In NMH, situations like fighting Letz Shake didn't feel like they were created simply to say "Hey, isn't this game weird!" In 2, however, an empty and pointless bike ride to a boss fight (which is generally agreed to be terrible, too) felt like the designers were saying "No More Heroes did weird stuff like this, so I guess we better, as well."

I suppose you mean Ryuuji? The pointless bike ride was actually to Captain Vladimir, which is one of my favourite fights in the series. Ryuuji didn't have an actual level, just that crummy bike duel. His actual fight ("COME OUT DRAGON") was pretty cool. Pretty much what the fight against DarkStar would've been like.

Anyway, I understand your feelings. As a sequel, it necessarily ran into "been there, done that" moments. So while it's not as original or creative, I still prefer it to the original because everything else has been improved. Yes, I even like the soundtrack better.

In the grand scheme of things the sequel was still more original than 90% of the games that come out despite the first one being THE original. I loved NMH2.
